@mdytmhgd Gee, give Matt a break. He just got done riding the bike around the parking lot .and was so thrilled he wanted to share the moment with Chad McQueen. The bike was running and revved up so Chad could hear it.
I wonder where they " discovered" this bike at? because I actually bought Mcqueens husky around 1975, I worked as and asst on " On Any Sunday", and bought the bike from a buddy who was a cameraman on the film and rode a lot w Steve, we all used to ride at El toro as well, f'n thing would never start so I sold it back and got a Yamaha....
u dont leave a 2stroke idling or u oil up the plug, thats why u see people with anything other than a trials bike do this and u usually find that they r built to withstand missed gears etc when u hit all kinds of nasty rpm.
Well, I don't care how many of McQueens bikes this guys fat wallet bought him. He'll never be as cool as McQueen.
So he might as well just sale them now and let them move on. Because it's obvious this guy has no intentions of doing anything constructive with the bike.
My dad had one. After he died I got it out and running after 20 year,s.I took it out riding got about top of five gear out in the desert it must have been about 75 or faster with one more gear to go.I never did get into six,s.I was to scared to go for it.It was very fast and with known one around I didn,t think it was a great place to died.
@ellahdayne First of all, one doesn't "drive" a Husqvarna. Husqvarnas have to be ridden and they do not suffer fools gladly...actually, at all. Matt may have rolled around the parking lot, but if he had attempted to ride that rocket, he would have been thrown off like last year's editor.
The one thing that got me when I saw this was the cell phone. What an invention but people cant seem to put the damn things down. Not even for a 35 second video. You think Steve would be caught dead with a cell phone in his ear on his husky 400?

You fat asshole! Sitting on a piece of history that belonged to a legend.
Steve McQueen was so great, you'd have to stand on your mother's shoulders just to kiss his ass.

Matt is on the phone telling Chad McQueen that he just drove his Dads newly discovered 400 Husky. Chad did not know the bike was found.
