A series of similar incidents happened in Seascale in Cumbria, England in 1957-1958, Chapelcross in Scotland over 1969 - 1971 and strangely enough, Cumbernauld Town Centre, Scotland in 1968 - 1974 but it was all kept quiet. I believe that the perpetrators are research scientists working for the nuclear industry.
