Hello people ... can you help me...? I want to see all the episodos of this serie The champions ... Where can i reach them or then where can I order it and buy the original English version DVDs...?
Bless you for posting! I was beginning to think I'd imagined this, as I was only 11 and have a very active imagination, sometimes jumbling things up. I thought this series was cool but seem to recall it was only a Summer replacement series? Whatever, it fascinated me, and I later moved to Europe and became a writer, very inspired by cool stuff like this I saw back in Ohio when young.
Liked this series! First attempt to cross spy and sci-fi shows and they played it pretty straight without being outlandish. The premise was their Tibet lost race enhanced "powers" was a combination of the ultimate abilities expressed by top "champion" athletes, weightlifting, genuises, and even recorded abilities of ESP. Whatever the max performance at anything a human was they had it, so it made the show seem scientifically plauisible. I hope they remake it.
I wonder why I never heard of this dumb show.It was made in 1968,the year when TV suddenly changed forever ,for the worst! All the good spy and sci-fi shows were all replaced with stupid cop shows for the next pathetic 20 years!Peolpe seemed to turn into morons overnight. The only great show that started in 68 that retained the 60's style was It Takes A Thief, but even it had only one good season.By it's 3rd season it had succumbed into stupidity also.Dark Shadows BECAME the only good show left.
@rematpac I think people were becoming more conservative and wanted the masses to conform more. Police were pretty much the main authority figures, everything that went before were sort of mavericks. You did have private investigators amongst all of the flat-footery, but they were not the way out cool people that we had become used to!!!
Question: I'm looking for a T.V. show but I don't know the title although someone told me it might be this one.
I saw an episode as a small child in which 2 men and one woman were like agents and in said episode they poisoned one guy. So the other went to find the antidote. He found it but the evil doctor destroyed all the vials except for one. The guy cupped it in his hands while like 10 bad guys beat his ass. But he NEVER let go. While speaking in psionics with the other guy and the woman.
OK, lets see if I have this right. A C.I.A. doctor regularly injects two agents each assignment and every week to perform as atheletes they're actually not, as they work under cover with no side effects. OK, yeah, sure.
@dallaskenn No you have not got it right at all. These agents originally crashed their plane into the mountains where a mysterious race of people rebuilt their bodies, but their bodies now had subtle but special powers over their fellow humans.
Only 12 shows were sold to the USA so its not very familiar over there.
@Witheredgoogie Right, I realized that after i watched a few posted episodes. My parents were military and we moved overseas just as this show was syndicated to the states; so I remember the show as a kid but didn't get to see the show at that time(1969). Thanks.
wow...brings back memories when I was 6 years old....they re-ran this serie in the late 70's and beginning of the 80's in Honduras...loved it everytime i watched it.
There doing a movie of it with brad pitt christian bale and angelina jolie as the champions it is being made in 2010 bale is playing craig pitt is playing richard and jolie is sharon
Wow Have not seen this show and the others that came from I-t-c I got to watch them on the late night shows of the late 60s & early 70s I know I have said it before but we had such great TV then before these now aday nut jobs push the dumb reality TV on us can't stand those shows take me back to the time less age of great TV. Thanks again for the videos means alot to me.
i love these old I-T-C shows they evoke memorys of childhood, the champions, the saint, the avengers, department-s, jason king, randall & hopkirk deceased, the persuaders, the baron, the man in the suitcase.....they were all so brilliant.
I was going to reel all those same great shows off, but you obviously know and remember them very well. I dont know what happened to ITC or many of the great independant TV stations that pushed the BBC to up their game at the time. I was only a kid at the time and I also used to love UFO (Ed White) and the Supermarionation stars of the era - Joe 90 and Captain Scarlet
Ugh. What hack did they get to do the music? The opening theme is especially awful. I was surprised it was so bad, the first time I heard it on one of those Tv theme archive sites. It sounds like somebody who does kiddie show's theme, wrote this one. Where's the genius of "The Prisoner" theme? Or of the "Dr. Who" theme? I wish I could say this one was forgettable. But it keeps plaguing my memory as how bad it was. I'll have to play "The Strange Report" theme, extra loud, to get over it.
My partner swears blind that at the end of one of the episodes a loud fart can be heard from one of the three actors right at the closing. He cannot recall which ep it was though...
Great show, unforgettable faces and great acting. Who didn't want to be a part of their lives, being them or having their powers. Well we do have the power to communicate like they do, mine are just not as developed as theirs(too many distractions in my environment) but am working on it. Gary77777777777 in answer to your question, partially that is I believe that Torentino and Cruise will be a part of this super heroes team. Thank you for the show.
this was one of my all time favorite shows. before the 6mill man or bionic woman. i had a crush on alexandra when i was just a kid. i loved that she had super strength and people underestimated her until she got them. my favorite was the drunk. lol
I really loved this show when I was younger PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE upload more episodes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Plus I had no idea that "Dr. Quartermain" from General Hospital is the same Stuart Damon from this series!!!!
How nostalgic - just to hear the theme music and watch that fountain behind the three of them again. I was obsessed with Sharon Macready as a girl (aged about 9). I wanted to be her! Wonder what she looks like now. Classics from an innocent era, along with Jason King, Persuaders etc. Thanks.
I wanted to be her too-and have the strength as well-At the time I thought she was the prettist woman in the world-and now I see this through adult eyes, I have to say, the younger girl certainly had great taste-look at those cheekbones!
And I had SUCH a girlie crush on Stuart Damon-he did Cinderalla on TV with Leslie Warren and I really believed he was a prince!
(hard to believe I was ever that young & innocent) ;-)
always loved the theme to this show. haven't seen it since the 60s. met stuart damon in supermarket in hollywood. i asked him how alexandra bastedo was doing. all are well. william gaunt doing theatre in L.A. just now.
The whole series is available to buy on DVD.Did you spot the guy in the scene in the gym?It was Dave Prowse who went on to become Darth Vader in the star wars films and the green cross man!

Dave Prowse is wearing a mankini a good few decades before Borat. More than once he played an over-confident muscle man who got humiliated.
