Camera phone? Well, not every day you "stumble" onto Steam!!! Most if not all of my train chasing adventures were planned... one time I even missed the June VHF contest so a friend and I could chase SP 4449 thru 4 grid squares... Shoulda done the rover thing but that would have kept me really busy, running the contest And a video camera. Another 4449 chasing adventure put me in touch with a high-school friend I hadn't seen in over 10 years... also a Ham operator, KD7CTY.
I think that the 3751 didnt need any help exept MAYBE up the miramar grade, certainly down the grade that night (around this time you make this video) for dynamic braking
I might add that in this video the 3751 is doing ALL the pulling, & that (@ least) one of the diesel-electric engines are providing HEP (or headend power to all the cars behind them
What's hilarious is that you captured a photo of me speeding past you trying to catch up w/ the train, when you were stopped along the side of the road.!!! :-)
