It is funny but the car salesman pray on the weak........It has never happened to me, always I have gotten the deal several K below asking price, up to $ 6, below the sticker price for brand new car, and $ 4 K below for brand new 4 runner, with 0 % 36 months financing.

I used to sell cars, and my sales manager just added on a 1500 dollar rustproofing on anyone with bad credit because they didn't know any better. If finance got the deal to go through they were super happy just to get a car....haha suckers

I've been selling cars for 4 years. I worked at a dealership that was just like this one and there are car salesmen just like this one. That's why if you find a salesman that treats you well you should go back to them whenever your looking for a car. It amazes me that people will go to the same barber their whole life for a $12 hair cut but go to a differant car salesman everytime they buy a new $20,000 car.

we sold rustproofing starting at 1450 bucks, real cost on that was around 150. load up front end, full sticker, etc....then extend terms and hit them with service pack on back end finance. Bend them over and fuck em hard, they love it.

also I think almost everyone that has sold cars, at some point has taken a car from inventory and carefully removed the "mooroney label" (I dont know why they call it that, but it is the big sticker that only the first owner is supposed to peel off) placed it the trunk of the car for safe keeping and driven off to party, only to return the car later that day as if nothing happened and then carefully placing the "mooroney label" back in the windshield. Business as usual :^)

i took out an 09 honda civic si coupe, took off all the stickers *stock # and everything* took it to a mountain run with friends...came back and sneeked in the back, gave 10 bucks to the porter to wash.....sold the same one later on that day....made a 2 pounder hahahahahaha!!!!

Some car dealers are still like that.  I worked at CarMax in Orlando for 3 years... very FAIR dealership with no deceptions. However, they only pay $150.00 per car. You have to sell 20 cars a month to make a modest living.

Buy a car from CarMax but NEVER work there! You'll starve to death.

Yes, I have seen this movie. I think it was on IFC one night. It was absolutely hilarious! I suspect it is very much this way. They use all kinds of psychological tactics. Watch this movie and use a little common sense before you buy your next car....

I agree. I have kids to feed and clothe. I've been selling for 8 yrs. The customers who pay more are usually the happiest one's and repeat customers. And to those who think car salesman are scum, I'm sure you've never brought a trade in to a dealer and said "oh, it's a perfect car!!" knowing damn well the tranny was about to drop or you just had the engine light turned off before you came, or trade it in December when the A/C is broken!!

I have worked as a consultant at HUINDREDS of dealers, and every well run BDC I have been involved with has a higher per copy than the floor.
