  • Iron Chef America definitely has master chefs but there aren't any bad ass rivalries and showdowns like Kitchen Stadium's Morimoto vs. Ohta's Faction. That's what I enjoyed so much about Iron Chef Japan, the stories behind the battles.

  • omg morimoto...its one man against a faction...all the best morimoto!

  • what were the battles that morimoto faced members of the ohta faction?

  • 1:48 to skip ahead

  • Damn *COD ROE* is delicious , I had those cod roe soup before in a spring tryukan and all I can say is I can't forget how fresh n delicious they were.

  • ???

There was more than one anglerfish battle? I recall seeing one in the Rosusaburo era, but I had no idea Morimoto had tackled it too...and lost.

  • so dramatic! I love it when the Ohta Faction shows up.

  • WOAH!!! the amount of sake and its not even the main ingredient!!

  • As an Asian, I am embarassed to say that we got some of the most cheesiest drama lines ever!

  • @Roochfan20 ummmmmm................cheeeeesssss :)

Actually, notice all the positive comments, we love cheesy.

  • @dcleversy Well to be honest, can't the translators give a better line than something from an old 1970s movie?

  • The Japanese are very traditional people and i think it's fine to be proud of your tradition and want to safeguard it. But there's not point shoving original Japanese food down people's throats. Different parts of the world have different tastes and there's no harm adapting Japanese food to suit their tastes. Like my country has sushi with sweet corn and crabstick and almost everyone likes it.

  • @SolariaAngeli It's very true and I agree with you on your point but I would also like to argue that even Japanese culture itself shares similarities with other nations, not just in traditional cuisines but also in things like styles of clothing(the Kimono, believe it or not, was originated in China, mainly during the Tang Dynasty, 618-907AD) and in Japan's case, Tokyo(which is translated as "Eastern Capital" in Chinese because there is no Eastern Capital in China).

  • i love that even iron chef japan has villians :D

  • yea i love the ohta faction and kandagawa's hitmen, iron chef america has NO personality or anything, not even a good chef bio, so brief and quick

  • I remember when Chen was 0-2 against women chefs.

  • Iron Chef America, even their gear sucks and is boring--no sense of style or pagentry.

Personality? What personality does Bobby Flay have except that of an asshole.

  • @RPenta : Yeah, ICA lacks certain things.

Just one of the many things that ICA can improve upon is the secret ingredients they have. ICA needs to put in more exotic and expensive ingredients. If you compare ICA and ICJ budget, ICJ spends way more than ICA.

Another is the "styles" (French, Italian, etc.). For the most part, there's no real distinction. Their "style" should always take precedence, THEN add an American twist to it, like how they do it in ICJ (French with a Japanese touch, etc.).

  • @RPenta Actually Morimoto still wears his original outfit From Iron Chef Japan, because he felt that it was disrespectul to the true pagentry of the show to make could chefs so bland... I really think American Iron Chef watchers would shit if Kandagawa's hitmen showed up... And plus I cannot stand Alton Brown as the host...

  • @yankeesfan2006 I have never seen him wear it. Alton Brown is ok.

  • they also don't even have a section on showing the finished DISHES (!!) what is that?

  • @bludika I just wait the day where Kandagawa shows up on ICA, I really wanna see Kandagawa's hitmen show up to face Morimoto again..

  • @yankeesfan2006 lol nah, that should would make him look like a joke cuz ICA is a joke

  • @bludika

At least it will put Flay in their place when the Ohta chef shows them what does traditionalist flavours taste like. Not the fusion cuisine chefs do, especially with Flay and his perchant for spices.

  • @asaqe3 lol all bobby flay does is make tamalies, and squeeze some chilli sauce in all his dishes

  • I think Ohta is blind to see that Morimoto is not trying to kill Japanese cuisine, he has just taken it and evolved it into something new even better...

  • or just mad at how much better Morimoto is

  • Do their headbands give their rank or just say something like proud to be an ohta?

  • The headbands (hachimaki) are a traditional thing, wearing one signifies determination.

  • The headbands supposedly say "True Flavor."

  • Looks like an awesome one coming up.

  • I love how Kaga rips the steaming bun open and eats it.

I also how he pronounce the main ingredient.

    Kadago?

  • I think it's tarako.

  • @LovelyYTRocks yes tarako

  • lol Ohta and Kandagawa are the "bad guys" it was funny when he said "winning one is not our goal, we're going for a winning record" lol that sounded hillarious

  • Yeah, LOL. Still, they make great villains.

  • these guys just don't give up don't they?

  • its funny these Ohta and Kandagawa faction

  • cracks me up...

  • can you post the video Morimoto lost to the ohta faction?

  • how could morimoto lose to ohta faction? could u post that anglerfish battle?

  • Everytime I see roe, I hope to see the inedible ice cream...

  • Thank you for posting the new episodes!

  • Thank you for posting the new episodes!

  • Omg yes I have been waiting for an Ohta faction episode.

  • ive seen a bunch from the ohta faction and Serie A

  • I don't recall seeing a battle with the Ohta faction before. Mmmmmm, sake!
