  • Ron Block looks like Ned Flanders.

  • @mscof789

    Ron IS Ned Flanders

  • That's just incredible for saying it's on the spot. What is sickening is they aren't even trying as well! Awesome.

  • Thaat interviewer dooode from Canadia. I koinda loiked is accent. Sooory. S'not moi fault.

  • @Meef1701 That's not a canadian accent. That's definitely scottish.

  • Is this done in standard tuning?

  • interviewer is from Northern Ireland

  • @DragonRory17

    Wrong, he's Scotish

  • "i rule at life"...hahaha

  • dans awesome comb over guy needs to eat a bottle of drqano

  • @stickerkingusa Ron Block ("comb-over guy") happens to be a very good guitar play if you couldn't tell. In fact on A.K. & Union Station's next album Ron will be playing guitar and Dan will be playing mandolin.

  • Martin Guitars sound incredible.

  • These guys are beasts!

  • They ought to start a band or something. :)

  • 2.12-2.18

  • damn i suck at guitar...lol.

  • Dan's got that freight train drive.

  • Dan, I am a man of constant sorrow til' the day I can play the way you do

  • Is ron block on deliverence?

  • Danski and Ronjo are freakin sick.

  • Kenny Smith is good but listen to David Grier, Josh Williams, Clay Jones, Tim Stafford, Roy Curry, Cody Kilby, and Brian Sutton then come back and say Kenny Smith is the best. I'm not saying you're wrong but Kenny is in some awfully good company.

  • Don't forget my new favorite Chris Eldrige!

  • Is that the Dan Tyminski model?

  • Is it just me or does Ron's guitar seem deeper than most?

  • bear

  • Ron Block ownz...

  • Hot Damn it's the Soggy Bottom Boys! Dan and Ron are truly living legends.

  • dan and ron are 2 of the best bluegrass flatpickers out there. ron is also one of the best banjo players out there

  • seems like dan plays more with the countour of the song, and ron likes to hit the high blusey notes...both are some of if not the best bluegrass players around in my opinion.

  • i love you two

  • Nice!!!

  • "whoooeee dats a mighty fine a' pickin' I'da tell ya'"

  • Amazing stuff. I love bluegrass

  • Wow! They are great!

  • Love Ron taking off at 1.45... I got this on the cover mount CD, no probs working out the Dan part, but still faffing around trying to get the Ron lead break down. Great players, the pair of them.

  • They both do this so effortlessly. Really fun to watch.

  • makes me wanna grab a jug of moon shine and sit on my porch and skin a coon....yee---haaaaaw......they fuckn jam ...

  • Yehhaaww Brother !

  • I'm no expert on bluegrass, but i really enjoy what i've heard. but that aside, these guys are damn talented :) respect to them, and to the genre

  • Ron has such a vibe in his pickin'

I just feel the south around me altough I never been across the athlantic

  • Keep in mind that Ron Block is from California so he's not Southern at all, neither is Dan Tyminski who is from Vermont. Both these guys are good but trust me when I say there are many musicians in the South better than Dan and Ron. I'm not criticizing either one. I'm just saying that guys like Cody Kilby, Bryan Sutton, Josh Williams, and many kids in the South you've never heard of would floor most folks with their talent.

  • There are NO better than Dan & Ron. Just different But NO better.

  • If that's what you want to believe. To each his own. I never said they were bad and didn't even mean to imply that. They're good musicians but Dan is a fair lead player, much better at rhythm. Ron is good at lead I'm sure would tip his hat to guys like David Grier, Clay Jones, Bryan Sutton, Josh Williams, etc.

  • Damn they can jam!!

  • You gotta love it. No were to hide with accoustics. Clean and pure.

  • I seem to have more trouble with electric amplifying my mistakes!

  • I had no idea that Ron Block could play uptempo bluegrass guitar. That is basically sick, dude.

  • this why i play mandolin in the bluegrass band and guitar in the blues band that is some tough stuff! go ron and dan!

  • I freaking love bluegrass, no stupid pedals to mash, no amps to buy and lug around, no distortion, its all wood and raw talent, Play on grassers

  • Which issue of Guitar Techniques magazine is this from - I would like to obtain a copy...

  • Never realized how much this tune sounds like "Do Lord" / "Beulah Land"...

  • That would be "Worried Man Blues", an ancient traditional tune.

  • @udderyanker Don' you think that Ron Block on banjo and Dan Tyminski on guitar could perfectly jam for the tune "Dueling Banjos" played in the key of A as Dan and Ron would do a good job, wouldn't they?

  • what is the name of the instrumental they do at the last

  • Thanks!guys realy helpfull tips.
