This wouldn't have happened in America. They would have had her all covered up with a kevlar vest with security inside and outside the court room just for her trial. An Iraqi immigrant stabbed a white Catholic girl to death and cut her throat ear to ear in my home town because he did not approve of the fact she was dating a Muslim. The one man that did do something was her loving husband; he selflessly put himself between her and the attacker and attempted to wrestle the knife away from him to protect his dear wife and unborn child.
