  • Thanks for the video. It's fantastic to see Flaming Youth perform live.

  • Canadians have no taste in music ?

    Is that why Genesis,Supertramp,

The Police, Moody Blues....all broke in

    Canada before the USA ?

But it's OK...I know you are just kidding.

  • @proisle Boring bands for boring people.

  • It reminds me of very early Yes with touches of Locomotive and Giles, Giles and Fripp.

  • i think it sounds more like giles, giles and fripp.

  • holy shit, they are all high as fuck!

  • @pieissodelicious Yes As A Kite :) Phil Looks Higher Than The Others. First Hes Not Happy, Than 4 Seconds Later Smiling Like The Acid Finally Kicked In :) But Great Drummer

  • Phil Collins has such a distinctive voice. I like it.

  • I like this song until they go into this lame middle section. I can't believe there is footage of these guys! Wow!

  • WOW ! Phil with Sonor drums.. I wonder if those were his, or if they were supplied by the studio.

  • This sounds very much like early Genesis.

  • Not bad, but yes, compared to Genesis, it is pretty much drivel. But so are a lot of songs when you compare them to Genesis.

  • @gordon777777 Canadians have no taste in music.

  • @England5is5the5best

FUCK YOU!!! We have HUGELY better taste than many others in this LAME modern world!! That's why Genesis and Supertramp always come to see us in first place! We're not just a bunch of lame ass morons deeply addicted to incredible lame pieces of deep shit like 50cents, Eminem, Britney Spears, Lady GaGa and other crapy jackasses like that!!! TAKE THAT AND SHOVE IT UP YOUR ASS, YOU MORON!

  • @81GrandPrix Canada = nothing country, full of nothing people,The US should nuke it.

  • @England5is5the5best Well as an international person I can safely say that Canada is superior to the US. I had the option to go to either and chose Canada. I have no desire to go to the US, also British people have bad teeth.

  • Lucky this band never really went anywhere. We would have never seen the great Genesis lineup from the Seventies.

  • phil laught a lot singing this

  • one of the best songs on Ark II.

reminds me of the moody Blues.

My second favourite is space child.

But this is my favorite Track On Ark II.

Flaming Youth 1969/70, with "Flash" Gordon, and 16 years old Phil Collins.

    Thanks!

I have this on DVD BTW...

  • @BlondieFan75 can you share that DVD with anybody of us?

  • Wouldn't it amazing to hear Phil play this on a full drum kit?

Maybe Steve playing the violin part and Tony taking the other vocal in the duet.

  • @NMNHTV13 Erm, dont recall Steve ever playin violin, or Tony doin vocals :S

  • @PuckRocker43 Steve could easily play the violin part on his guitar and use some cool effect.

  • thanks God Phil was born!

  • People who are ripping this need to listen to The Nice, or Procul Harum, or even Genesis' first effort, From Genesis to Revelation. THIS is how it sounded during this period. This was Art Rock circa 1969. It was King Crimson, and perhaps Family, that blew the doors off what Art/Prog Rock was and what it was going to be.

Also, there was a huge watershed in recording music, and the money invested behind it, in about 1970. Listen to the early versions of Who's Next before they changed producers.

  • Definately the best song from the album! Hands down.

  • Nice song.

Nice game and vocal's of everything musican's of Flaming Youth.

But the best is naturally Phil Collins.

    Silver from Poland.

  • always Phil in the beginings and until the end! I love him...

  • he always is the best... no drummer like him... all in him is music and melody from heaven!

  • Too young.

  • any problem about it? more young he was at 5 when he had his first drum...

  • Nice to see before FY all went bad. ArkII the album has to be the most pretentious piffle I have ever heard...very much of its time.

  • This Phil Colins not Kurt Cobain you idiot.

    Silver from Poland.

  • he must try to say he was fisically like Kurt...don t think he doesn t know who is who!

  • This is SO weird - I just att. a concert this past weekend of the band Dance on a Volcano-woke up this AM thinking the young Phil, judging by old photos, and Kurt Cobain looked kind of similar.

  • @srtyxczewlsrolkid I think they were joking. Phil looks a bit like Kurt Cobain at some points. You no sense of humour!

  • Wow... Such a small drumset for Phil. I like the Bonham hi-hat in there; tastefully applied.

  • A young Kurt Cobain on drums.

  • Great album. Really! :)

  • mmmh...but this "lyrism" seems to be more italian that british for example. (fortunately for the rock story)

  • thats me on the drums that is

  • I can spot Phil Collins voice even then. Great band.

  • A really addictive song, I havent been able toget this track out of my mind!

  • actually gordon lives in the netherlands i know him a little. he's like a god.

  • @BoSSe8813 I know him too, I live just across the boarder in germany, he's my guitar teacher :)

  • Phil Collins shouldn't e embarassed. These are some great songs. Whatever happened to Flash Gordon?

  • he even looks younger...

  • well, he was 19 at the time, just months before joining Genesis...

  • nah

  • he looks happier in this band than in genesis.
