The only work to ever intelligently use On the Blue Danube...others just use it for humorous purposes, which disgusts me. Classical music is beautiful, this film's beautiful. It's as though whomever has ever used it after Kubrick is of the newer generations (which I find much content of being reluctantly spawned from myself) who look back on classics and only know how to laugh at it...Imbeciles.
It was a brilliant move to set this picture to classical music. There's nothing that can express the serene nature of space quite like The Beautiful Blue Danube.
the reason i like classical music is that it doesnt always have to keep the same tune or beat. unlike todays music that repeats itself over and over again
Oh man, to hell with all the new age music that people listen to, this music is beautiful, i'd rather listen to this music then what the drones of society listen to.
@TheCGIMaster - ahhh, yes. How does the majesty of this song NOT make you think of the ships in 2001? And certainly, it does not conjure images of a huge heavy, bomber killing people. It is a far more serene and peaceful song for that.
@TheCGIMaster Odd to say but I agree with because it is a juxtapostition because on the one hand you have the music which shows all that is great and beutiful about the human race and then you have the B-52G showing that we can be a highly destructive race at time and together they show a nearly complete picture of the human race and what we are like.

Am I the only one who thinks that a picture of a B-52G Stratofortress is the perfect picture for this song?
I love this song :3
