It was the way that Superman beat him both in the animated series and in Kingdom Come. Shazam in Kingdom Come got quite a few ligtning strikes on an even more powerful superman by moving quickly, but all it took was superman catching him one time and the fight was pretty much over.

I remember Superman fighting Captain Marvel. I,ve seen it in both, the comics and animated series. Captain Marvel was only shown for one episode because of strict ownership under DC Comics.

After Kingdom Come Marvel has carried a bit of a dark side. Billy was naive.
He had the Wisdom of Solomon but he was always a part time guy. He was just a kid (and couldn't grow old it seems.) Just like Black Adam.
He had nowhere near the weakness's of Superman. Exploitation of him by his enemies ended up being much more permanent.
As alternate endings come and go with the years. He will always carry a dark spot.

well of course he got beat up but he didn't loose the fight if im not mistaken all the supes get beat down by there powerful enemy but they still win u said ur self he beat superman as in doomsday won the fight which he did not and yeah i don't only read the comics i own them the original ones dating back to when superman was apart of action comics so yeah but ne way superman is still the greatest super hero of all time no dout and u can't argue that one cuz no ones better

I heard the reason why Captain Marvel was only in 1 episode was because of strict ownership under DC Comics.

@etwtheman im dissapointed in that they didn't vring Captin marval back into the show if they showed him making mistakes then leaving the Justic League just because of some issues and not showing him again then what was the point of showing him at all.

I remember Superman fighting Captain Marvel. I,ve seen it in both, the comics and animated series. Captain Marvel was only shown for one episode because of strict ownership under DC Comics.
Lex Luthor was a jerk humiliating Superman in that episode.
