I have lower gears, posi, the next size smaller tire, hypertech tuner, and the throttle body restriction plate removed and i maxed at 130mph with a garmin gps. these trucks are the best cause i also have 204,000 miles on mine and been flooring it since it left the dealer in 98.

i have a '98 and usually the gas gage just jumps around a bit. probably didn't actually go through enough gas to affect the gage reading

Is that a 305 or 350 because when im doing about 95 mine is at about 3500rpm but i have a few mods but not anything that would change the rpm.

i know that mine did that when it was stock too, i have a hypertech power programmer III and now it cuts off at 128.

yeah my 98' silverado shuts off at 100 in 3rd gear revving about 4000, and it hits rev limiter at 5600. i tell ya they are fast trucks, i just wish that it didn't shut off.

i have a 97 gmc sierra 4x4 with a vortec 350 and i havent got the limiter to kick in. ive had it to 95 mph but i seldom go over 70 because im running mud tires and the handling gets pretty loose and the truck likes to float
