Look closely.....the shipment in the trailer is loaded professionally, wrapped, loaded tight and shrink wrapped properly! This shipment was van to vanned. By the looks of things.....possibly a shuttle situation. Yes, the movers were not very good. But where is the driver in all of this! He should have taken the bull by the horns and stopped it right away! I moved for 23 yrs and I have hired some real bad swampers in my day even when they told me that they moved for years.

Lesson to be learned. Only use companies with good reputations on Angies List, BBB, etc. And, do whatever you can to get a binding price , replacement value insurance and dedicated service.

You get what you pay for, try using one of the big moving companies Atlas Van Lines or United Van Lines. These companies are heavily regulated by the DOT and federal trade commission. This kind of shit does not fly. Every driver is rated on performance (within ones company) and has a claim record. If a driver drops below a certain satisfactory/claim ratio then he is pretty much shunned from the dispatchers. Also these larger companies pay claims on broken items.
I work at Corstjens Worlwide Movers-Bucharest Branch and we had a local office move 2 days ago and nothing was scratched. It was around 40 cubic meters.Men, lift up ,move and put down . NEVER, and I mean NEVER drag a piece of furniture. And ALWAY respect the FRAGILE, THIS WAY UP,etc labels.

Wow what a mess, can't believe you kept calm. Assuming you were recording, of course. These guys were inredibly slow and unmotivated, probably smoked a blunt on the way there. That is what happens when a moving company pays their guys $10 an hour. Those guys probably made $100 a piece, so you basically paid their company $3000 to source those excellent movers. Pay the guy that is doing the work next time.
Everytime I happen across this video it makes me sick. After paying close attention and being in the indurstry myself I think what is going on here besides the fact that things were packed and wrapped properly is you hire a few illegal movers to drive Uhaul trucks and they were very unexperienced and also judging by their body movements they were either high on drugs, or they were suffering from extreme sleep deprivation from driving a very long distance.
I would never trust "profesional movers" again. We had a similar experience with those mayflower movers. Not only did they damage and break many items... they also stole many things from the truck before it was delivered... including several expensive items that belonged to my Grandfather who was deceased. We felt like we paid them to steal from us. It's bad enough to have them steal from you, but to steal sentimental items that can NEVER be replaced... that's just cruel!!
MAyflower Movers was not Mayflower Transit. The company that you are talking about has been shut down. Look for them to use another name of a well known compnay soon.

My best advice in choosing a reputable mover? Not only the BBB (if you just check the BBB and a complaint has been lodged against a carrier/vanline it will not pull up for you in your local community because you are checking on the status of the agent for the carrier i.e., the actual moving company...). Google "Your Rights and Responsibilities When You Move." Also, the FMCSA has a wonderful website. Lastly, read the 49 CFR; Specifically part 176...government regs for the moving industry.
I've been in the moving industry for over ten years and have never seen such a terrible service being done. Where did this company get these men? This is tragic; I wish the consumer the best on their claim settlement. My goodness, where are the paperpads or the blankets? Terrible handling and loading. It's sad for us reputable movers that the "bad" ones out there muddy our industries image. First clue to the consumer that this was going to be a bad move: Men without company uniforms.

Im a professional removalist and i can tell u they are not removalists i don't mean just the black guys all of them its just them moving their own house. One of the most obvious thing look at the shoes hes wearing 2.04 and look how they stack the goods the couch will easily fall over while the truck is moving and so would the chest of draws and boxes. This isn't a removal company doing the job.

Movers seems professional, they pack their trailer good, 2 black labor guys were not from moving company. If you hire moving company, let them finish what they start. Watch what you sign, before they start any motions on you site. And discuss everything prior,during,by the end of your relocation with main office.

Movers are licensed and supposed to perform at a certain level of professionalism. They know their obligations and if they give a low bid, should still fulfill what it is they promised to do -- a professional move.

Well you saved money right? The two guys were probably temp workers that the over the road driver hired for the day. Insurance for moves is normally 30 cents a pound,if you didn't buy extra, again you saved money money. The driver told you to rent a truck and meet him to transfer your furniture and other property,you didn't rent or bring blankets or pads,again you saved money. The moving co. was wrong but not 100%, you watched and even taped him to sue and now you complain.YOU SAVED MONEY!

Working for a moving company myself, I can whole heartedly say that this is not an example of the service a professional company provides. Let this be a warning, the cheapest, isn't always the best. Check with your Better Business Bureau before using any moving company! Our guys would be gone if they had the lack of care these idiots do.

I would have stopped.I work 4 mayflower in TN, and a Cable TV show (my1sthome) was there, and we refused to touch anything while the camera rolled.The OPS manager tried 2 bully us, and we told them we don't have to be filmed. The on site producer (although aggravated) had no choice - she stopped.

Lesson to be learned. Only use companies with good reputations on Angies List, BBB, etc. And, do whatever you can to get a binding price , replacement value insurance and dedicated service.

You get what you pay for, try using one of the big moving companies Atlas Van Lines or United Van Lines. These companies are heavily regulated by the DOT and federal trade commission. This kind of shit does not fly. Every driver is rated on performance (within ones company) and has a claim record. If a driver drops below a certain satisfactory/claim ratio then he is pretty much shunned from the dispatchers. Also these larger companies pay claims on broken items.

I work at Corstjens Worlwide Movers-Bucharest Branch and we had a local office move 2 days ago and nothing was scratched. It was around 40 cubic meters.Men, lift up ,move and put down . NEVER, and I mean NEVER drag a piece of furniture. And ALWAY respect the FRAGILE, THIS WAY UP,etc labels.

Wow what a mess, can't believe you kept calm. Assuming you were recording, of course. These guys were inredibly slow and unmotivated, probably smoked a blunt on the way there. That is what happens when a moving company pays their guys $10 an hour. Those guys probably made $100 a piece, so you basically paid their company $3000 to source those excellent movers. Pay the guy that is doing the work next time.

Everytime I happen across this video it makes me sick. After paying close attention and being in the indurstry myself I think what is going on here besides the fact that things were packed and wrapped properly is you hire a few illegal movers to drive Uhaul trucks and they were very unexperienced and also judging by their body movements they were either high on drugs, or they were suffering from extreme sleep deprivation from driving a very long distance.

I would never trust "profesional movers" again. We had a similar experience with those mayflower movers. Not only did they damage and break many items... they also stole many things from the truck before it was delivered... including several expensive items that belonged to my Grandfather who was deceased. We felt like we paid them to steal from us. It's bad enough to have them steal from you, but to steal sentimental items that can NEVER be replaced... that's just cruel!!

My best advice in choosing a reputable mover? Not only the BBB (if you just check the BBB and a complaint has been lodged against a carrier/vanline it will not pull up for you in your local community because you are checking on the status of the agent for the carrier i.e., the actual moving company...). Google "Your Rights and Responsibilities When You Move." Also, the FMCSA has a wonderful website. Lastly, read the 49 CFR; Specifically part 176...government regs for the moving industry.

I've been in the moving industry for over ten years and have never seen such a terrible service being done. Where did this company get these men? This is tragic; I wish the consumer the best on their claim settlement. My goodness, where are the paperpads or the blankets? Terrible handling and loading. It's sad for us reputable movers that the "bad" ones out there muddy our industries image. First clue to the consumer that this was going to be a bad move: Men without company uniforms.

Im a professional removalist and i can tell u they are not removalists i don't mean just the black guys all of them its just them moving their own house. One of the most obvious thing look at the shoes hes wearing 2.04 and look how they stack the goods the couch will easily fall over while the truck is moving and so would the chest of draws and boxes. Movers are licensed and supposed to perform at a certain level of professionalism. They know their obligations and if they give a low bid, should still fulfill what it is they promised to do -- a professional move.
This looks as bad as Reliance Movers from Texas and NJ.

Well you saved money right? The two guys were probably temp workers that the over the road driver hired for the day. Insurance for moves is normally 30 cents a pound,if you didn't buy extra, again you saved money money. The driver told you to rent a truck and meet him to transfer your furniture and other property,you didn't rent or bring blankets or pads,again you saved money. The moving co. was wrong but not 100%, you watched and even taped him to sue and now you complain.YOU SAVED MONEY!

unbelievable! I worked for a really small moving company (me, the owner and my brother) and we were never the cheapest but we were anal about treating every customers possessions as if they were our own.
It wasn't the best job in the world but I learned a lot about customer service.

This is what happens when you try to save a buck. You should have used a major Van Lines like United, Atlas or Alied. The estimate may be alittle higher, but I bet the final cost would be lower. And you would be fully insured. I have seen this happen so many times and I just shake my head and laugh.

Working for a moving company myself, I can whole heartedly say that this is not an example of the service a professional company provides. Let this be a warning, the cheapest, isn't always the best. Check with your Better Business Bureau before using any moving company! Our guys would be gone if they had the lack of care these idiots do.

They appear 2 be under-trained.Can't possibly expect the best for the lowest price.The job is very frustrating, and notice that the people filming sure didn't offer to put their hands on anything to help protect their property.Again, gripe all you want, but unless you throw out the pompous "I'm paying for it, I shouldn't have to help" and help when you see a problem, then enjoy the damage.

I would have stopped.I work 4 mayflower in TN, and a Cable TV show (my1sthome) was there, and we refused to touch anything while the camera rolled.The OPS manager tried 2 bully us, and we told them we don't have to be filmed. The on site producer (although aggravated) had no choice - she stopped.

I've been a mover for 15 years and can safely say these guys have no idea what they are doing and their business tactics show that they also couldn't care less. Good luck with whatever legal venue you take.
