i think its more of an improvement on the old sound because its so similar to it (with the whole 80s revive feel) but with more new features which are heard in pop records over the last year or so. to be honest i hated 'where im going'. Its nothing like cut copy at all (im not saying i dont like change, but that's just preposterous), its like an electronic version of the band tame impala... this is hopefully a release to show they havent lost their great sound

I definitely like "Take Me Over" more than "Where I'm Going", the synth melody in the background reminded me of the same melody that The Outrunners use in a lot of their songs. I'd give it about a 7/10, only because there are hundreds of bands trying to hone this sound, but Cut Copy do it well in this track. Thanks for mentioning the Atlas Sound releases, I love their music. Please do a review of Glasser's Ring sometime this month, I'd be sooo thankful :-) Exited about Thanksgiving?

That was a really fair and erudite review. I might have pushed it up towards a 6.5/7, but on the whole you really pinpointed this catchy, albeit rather underwhelming single. I agreed with the idea of the song lacking a sort of coherency -- it certainly suffers from a sort of derivative-crisis. But I did think they were too derivative, with this song, if not "Where I'm Going", which I loathed, of their earlier stuff, actually. I felt this could have been on In Ghost Colours even, unreleased.
