  • True, but both Stan and Terry credit Killer Karl Kox for really teaching them the business.

  • thats i thing ill problew never see again till tna corys this river slam haaa

  • Though the river bump is unique, this doesn't look like a very good venue for wrestling. It looks so open outdoors. Anyone could easily watch through binoculars - or worse, walk up and watch without a ticket. Unlike outdoor stadiums/arenas, there probably weren't many resources for protecting the wrestlers against pest either.

  • Hansen was a beast and legally blind without his glasses, so when he threw that huge punch, it had a good chance of hitting you for real.

  • Old school wrestling brawls are awesome, especially with these two in the mix.

  • Hell Yeah!!!

    THARSHTILDEATH.

  • Two Of The Greatest Brawlers

  • Amen to that, you can add Bruiser Brody,Abdullah The Butcher & The Original Sheik to that elite group of best pure brawlers.

  • Dam Right i Like Them Aswell

  • Damn!! I grew up in Pennsauken where The Cooper River Park resides. This was from 1990 and I was grounded...could not go :(

This was the 1st and last time wrestling came to Cooper River. I believe because of this match lol

  • The infamous Cooper River Park match.........never saw it.........thanks!!!!

  • Terry Funk is the one who broke Stan into pro-wrestling business, trained him, and made him debut in Amarillo, TX. Both of them are from the football team of WTSU. In early 80's in AJPW they had the gratest fueds that Japanese pro-wrestling has ever seen. Psychology, guts, pride were included in every one of their fueds.

  • The little kids by the end of the clip you can hear off camera are so cute. Great match! it could be the seed of hardcore? Damn FuCkn' possible.

  • well this is what i call wrestling ;)

  • wow, I remember seeing this in a magazine right after it happened, talk about two brawlers, good stuff, thanks!

  • How in the hell can you get DQ for throwing someone in the river?? lol Funny shit.

  • dispite the crappy camera work,i still give it 5 stars.old school extreme

  • Some clarification on this event. The promoter behind it was the infamous Dennis Carluzzo(RIP), who was at the time the head of the NWA. The event was held at the Cooper River Park, in Pennsauken, NJ.

  • People this match occur in the early 90's possibly 1990. This is part of the beginning of the "Hardcore" movement.

  • i wonder if the promoter didnt have money to hire any hall. incredible match.

  • Yardville, NJ is where the match was at: NWA NJ, 1990

  • Ain't that somewhere on the Canadian River near Amarillo?

  • one HELLUVA brawl! I love Stan Hansen battle cry at the end...HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU! lmao

  • Isnt Stan Hanson 6foot5 inches tall??

  • It was from 1990 by the way.

  • That was awesome! their two texans both don't give a damn about the rules

  • what year is this from?

  • The Tag on the clip says "1990".

  • I wonder if this is the only time anyone was ever disqualified for throwing somebody in a river. Any idea when this was filmed?

  • Why on earth would someone be disqualified for throwing their opponent into the river??? LOL...
