From now on I decided to deleate the posts who say I need to call them kits. I am NOT an American. I live in the Netherlands, Europe. Kit is the American name, pup is the Dutch name. And since I and this baby ferret live in the Netherlands..... xD And besides what does the name matter. She is cute, and grew up to become an healthy adult ferret. Or a "fret" in Dutch.

She also was very small. We also had another litter in 2007, and those 2 puppies where her size at 2 weeks. I think it has to do becose the amount of babies the mother had (with the video pup, there where 12) Also the mother didn't take care of them, so it would explain why she didn't grow that fast. They where also very skinny at 9 weeks, becose they where growing that time realy fast. Today they are 'normal' ferrets, the boy ferret baby is also very big now.

That's so sad, my baby-boy Johnny was the first in his litter and his poor mum didn't really know what was going on so she bit his foot off! Doesn't slow him down though, bless him. Almost six months old now and a big healthy boy (he cocks hit little stump to pee, it's cute it a weird sort of way)

Ferrets are illegal in CA because they can cause environmental issues to the natural inhabitants. It's to ensure the safety of the native ecosystem of California. Invasive species can really screw up many aspects of an ecosystem, the main concern is Ferretts natural predatory instinct and the impact it could have in the food chain if say someone's pet ferrett escaped or was set free. As much as I like ferrets, it's for the best.

Zulke kleine pups hebben we meestal niet. En zo ja dan hopen we dat mams het zelf doet. Maar ieder jaar hebben we toch wel pups, meestal vanaf de 6 weken. Maar dat zijn meestal gedumpte pups. *helaas* Dit kleintje is inmiddels alweer 2 jaar. Woont bij kennissen. *we kunnen niet alles houden (opvang he, komen ieder maand weer nieuwe)*

You need to take your ferret to the vet, that is not normal for a ferret to be fat. Go get that checked out, or your ferret will die an early death. I'm not trying to be mean, but thats the truth.

Good =) if your vet say's that its okay for it to be fat, then your vet shouldn't be a vet he's an idiot. It is very very irregular to have a fat ferret. Ferrets live 5-7 sometimes 9 years if your lucky. If your ferret is unhealthy it will probably live the minimum of 5 or 4 years. and the maximum of 6. I'm glad i could save that little i mean fat ferret's life by adding a couple years onto it, i hope you do your research. Tell your ferret i said lots of love~ Grim.

Ferrets are rarely fat. And still, then it doesn't need to be bad. Becose they will need those reserves for the time they get sick.

A 'fat' ferret could also be sick. There are condition that they will hold (water?) in there body, on the wrong places. A good vet can see the diffrence. :)
