please!!!! they are the best!!! Marcelo as sensual and profesional as always and Ferry as beautiful and magical as she is!!! They are dancers it is pure dance itself...
Dance is comunication, dance is sued and passion dance is... it!!!
Can a ballerina reading this explain to me how in partnering class a move like the one at 4:18 could possibly be taught? I mean, you don't practice upside down straight perpendicular balance while being held by your partner at the barre or anywhere in class... it's an almost acrobatic move, geez, how did they do that?
Marcelo has wonderful presence in this and his physique is certainly impressive, before I start, let me just say that.... (sigh!!) :-) And I only wish I'd seen Alex before rtmt
@rlee1976 I don't think that that lift would have been very difficult. He would just have to know where to grab her leg and she has the strength to keep her body controlled. Lifts aren't as difficult as they look. It's all about where the guy holds you and not so much about his strength. Although, strength does help. Also, if the girl does use her muscles and control her body it will be twice as hard for the guy.

I know that Lar Lubovitch's Othello wasn't greeted with much fanfare when it first debuted but DAMN that death scene pas de deux is simply incredible!! The power and intensity; the love, heartache and fear was completely felt. Alessandra and Marcelo performed it fabulously. They're not just great dancers but also great actors! Superb!!
I also saw her performance in NY but this is the first clear video I have seen of it. Thanks so much for posting it. The world of ballet will not be the same without Ferri.
Where or when was this shot? It is edited or possibly multi-cam but there are no sets visible. Was it a special performance or gala? Didn't Marcelo win Benois for this?
What a choreography, what dancers, what music! Perfection of staging a drama! (By the way: The composer wrote also for the movie interview with a vampire. Exacltly the same style.)
Hmm. Well, it's not Tchaikovsky or Prokofiev, and it's not Petipa or Macmillan. It's unique, and very very very different from the typical classical ballet. I like it, but given the opportunity, I would probably change a few steps here and there. However, the dancers are, of course, magnificent. I dunno how many times I've said that Ferri is my favorite. And Gomes has that wonderful talent as a partner like my other favorite, Jontathan Cope. :)
So gorgeous...One of the most beautiful, powerful ballets I have ever seen...The music is haunting, the choreography is brilliant, She is exquisite, and he is stunning. There are so many adjectives to use, but there is no room! What a shame it will not be back at the Met this coming season....
Beautiful. I was lucky to see Ferri's only performance in Othello this past summer with Marcelo in ABt's Met Opera season. They both made the piece riveting.
that kiss at the end is so heartbreaking I almost cry every time I watch this pas

What can I say. I do adore Alex from the first time I saw her on stage at La Scala where I worked as usher.
She made me know and love ballet. She was and will always be unique.
And this pas de deux really trills me. Thanks for sharing it!

That was beautiful. ALessandra Ferri is pure perfection in every role she dances. I will surely miss her. Marcelo Gomes is wonderful, too!
