  • Brilliant, amazing range, and beautifully sexy. Martina is simply incredible, and did I mention she's sexy.

  • she is bad aas !

  • Amazing live. One of the most incredibly commanding voices in music history. Very poweful.

  • but Martina said she got her influence from Pat Benatar, when they did Crossroads together

  • well said,

  • So good. probably the best chorus ever

  • WOW !!!!!

  • This was good as usual, but nothing compared to the night she sung on CMT awards. She must have sold her soul that night because she was on that night. Sent chills up my spine.

  • What a great voice, And a Beautiful woman!!!!

  • She's so beautiful and such a great singer. WHERE are female singers like this today?! Anyone who would compare Lady Gaga or Katy Perry to her is a total moron.

  • Allenthephilosucker...do you have to practice sounding that stupid,or does it just come naturally???? Bet she would be all over a class act like you!!! I wish I was a woman so I could get me a big ol' stud like you!! You are an assholes' asshole!!!!!

  • TRUTH & PASSION ARE WHAT MAKES A GREAT COUNTRY SONG!!!!! The fact that this particular song touches on some of the deepest buried thoughts & feelings of a relationship is magnificent!!!!

  • hi joan how do you like this song?

  • She is a knock out!!

  • Does anyone else find her beautiful? Jesus.

  • Every single time I listen to her sing this song, I am left speechless. She is unbelievably amazing! Doesn't matter if I listen to it 78946 times in one sitting, I'm still left speechless when I hear it!

  • She's got a Hell of a set of pipes.

  • SIMPLIFY AMERICAN IDOL!!!! Each contestant just has to sing the chorus of this song....seperate the contenders from the pretenders.

  • She does great live, sounds the same as on an album. Her voice doesn't need auto-tuned or adjusted because she has what is called NATURAL talent

    <3 martina

  • i love martina but that audience has not rythm lol.

  • Martina or Carrie? I can't make up my mind. They are both out of this world great! If I had to choose, Martina's eyes would give her the push.

  • @Waynet126 I was thinking the same thing about Linda Ronstadt and Ann Wilson today , Ronstadt set the bar in the late 60s , early 70s earning 10 grammys and influencing women singers in all genres , including Martina.

Ann Wilson of Heart , a huge Led Zeppelin fan , remains a power house singer in rock more than 35 years after there first album and has left her mark in the country genre , CMT Crossroads Wynonna/Heart , Carrie and Gretchens covers.

Martina is the only singer today that compares.

  • Martina is definitely the best ever. No one is as crystal clear as her. Just listen to her voice at any level. It's ashame that you always here about stupid pop stars and their singing. I listen to all kinds of music and Martina hits it out of the park with her vocal clarity. I would love to see her perform with Ann Wilson from Heart. I believe Ann has the best female voice in rock music. The two of them would be amazing.

  • Her voice is a gift from heaven. She is a tiny little woman until she opens her mouth. Her voice is as big as the sky.

  • wrong - martina would win hounds down ! carrie just simpy screams for a living ! martina can SCREAM in tune ! Sorry TAKRE

  • her and carrie should have a singing contest. it'd def be a tie

  • the announcer is right, Martina is 'The one and only'

  • I Love her voice! Especially her older songs, like this one. Saw her in Stockton Kansas at the fair years ago, before she had made a name for herself. I knew then she would go far, cause the girl is full of raw unbridled talent!!! And I was right!!!

  • Once again, I concede to the simple fact that Carrie's vocal technique could use some refinement. But even without it, she still has a ton more vocal range and flexibility NATURALLY than Martina will ever have. Once again, Martina can't even belt comfortably above a high TENOR C#. That's sad. LOL.

  • Her high notes are great.... Low notes are very very bad

She is no Leann or Carrie

  • @dlhpkw carrie has horrible low notes. but when she sings low her singing flows smoothly. when she sings high notes, her singing is all breathy and staccato-like.

  • @cuongoff Carrie's high notes are amazing, clear, powerful, and effortless. I hope that you weren't talking about her in that comment, because if so LMAO.

  • chills run down my neck listening to her amazing voice.

  • I love the phone book comment so true

  • whoaa amazing voice and the song totally speaks to the heart

  • She has a voice that makes your hair stand up, and heart skip a beat....

  • If that don't give ya chills u ain't country!

  • @mackystack17

if it doesn't give you chills you don't have a heart

  • I saw her onstage in Valparaiso, Indiana (definitely NOT souh of the Mason-Dixon Line) and she totally convinced any and all nonbelievers - she has the voice and range to sing absolutely anything perfectly. Celine Dion eat your heart out.

  • absolutly

  • Best Country singer...um...EVER!!!

  • real God given talent but she sure knows that and damn she can sing

  • I saw her sing this at the Mississippi Coliseum in Jackson, MS about 3 or 4 years ago. She crushed it. Every last bit of it.

She received a standing ovation...for about 3 minutes.

I'm not big country music fan, but she could save this song for only the big stops on tour; Nashville, Atlanta, Dallas, the other big cities; but she sang it for the people in Jackson - and she didn't have to - and everyone understood it.

She owned everyone in the building...without exception.

  • @kosmoboi, I'm not a Carrie fan because she can't carry a tune in a mop bucket. I know this because I am cursed with perfect pitch, and I know when someone misses a note, even by a little. And no, I am not a Taylor Swift fan either. She can carry a tune better that Carrie Underwood, but her voice starts to strain and crack in the upper ranges and she gets very breathy as soon as she starts to get near the bottom of her (limited) vocal range. If you think Carrie is good, more power to ya.

  • @wirenutt57 LMFAO @ you saying that "Taylor Swift can carry a tune better than Carrie Underwood." So much for your "perfect pitch" there, buddy. Anyone with REAL perfect pitch, hell even decent RELATIVE pitch would laugh in your face.

  • @mellynumerounoo Obviously spoken by someone with a tin ear. You lose all credibility when you rave about Carrie Blunderwood's talent. She's a product of the media conglomerates via "American Idol" and is nothing more than hype pitched to teenage girls. If Carrie's pitch control is supposedly so wonderful now, it's probably because of the advances made in the live "Auto-tune" hardware or software. When I saw her, she sang the entire first song without ever hitting a single note on pitch.

  • @wirenutt57 Someone who just said that "Taylor Swift can carry a tune better than Carrie" is accusing ME of having a "tin ear"? Wow. You keep reaching new heightened levels of "delusional" with each new submission. "Live auto-tune hardware or software"? Riiiight, that's why she often sings live and ON THE SPOT without any preparation, and never fails to NAIL it.

Judging by how much you obviously despise her, I'm having a very very hard time believing that you EVER paid to see her

  • @mellynumerounoo You're right, I never paid to see her, I paid to see her opening act, Little Big Town, then left. What I fail to understand is why you're posting comments about how wonderful Carrie Blunderwood is in the comment section of a Martina McBride video. I'm not in a CA video raving about how wonderful Martina is like some pathetic fanboi. Go watch your Carrie videos and stop calling people absurd and delusional for their OPINIONS. I don't have time to argue with a teenage girl.

  • @wirenutt57 ASSUMING that you're even telling the truth, you must have seen her during the Carnival Ride Tour when she was extremely ill. Still, very unfair conditions for you to be judging her talent by. There are many many MANY videos of Martina's that I've stumbled upon in which she was atrociously off-key and very vocally strained.

and what you're doing is actually even more pathetic. You're in a Martina McBride video doing more Carrie Underwood trashing than Martina praising.

  • @mellynumerounoo What part of "I don't have time to argue with a teenage girl" did you not get? I posted my comments 4 months age and they stand. Interesting you feel the need to make excuses for her horrific performance. Finally, why would I lie? Little Big Town opened for her at the War Memorial in Syracuse, N.Y. I went with my wife and we both left as soon as we heard CA warbling her way through the first song. And we weren't the only ones heading for the doors.

  • @wirenutt57 Well, thank you for confirming my suspicions...you DID in fact see her during that time when she was having a lot of problems with her voice due to a chronic sinus infection. Unfortunately for you, her latest tour has been a MASSIVE success, both commercially AND critically. Judging a performer's abilities based on a night when they weren't even at 50%, much less 100%, is very very stupid. You can say that you don't have time as much as you like, but you're STILL replying to me.

  • @mellynumerounoo Less than 50% abilities, but she still got a 100% payday. Now that's some real class. Keep making excuses...

  • @wirenutt57 Ok? & even the greatest performers of all time have occasionally been forced to perform under conditions in which their abilities were at less than 50%. Even your precious Martina. Admit it, you're just as biased as they come. It was obvious with the running "Carrie Blunderwood" gag, and now even MORE obvious with your absolutely LUDICROUS assertion that Carrie is a lesser singer than Taylor Swift. I guess your "perfect pitch" is only as real as your ability to be objective.

  • @wirenutt57 Also, I'm sorry if you take offense to my calling you "absurd and delusional," but I'm one who likes to call a spade when I see one. Sadly, ANYONE who makes the claim that "Taylor Swift can carry a tune better than Carrie Underwood"--mind you, even when judging strictly by Carrie's WORST day and by Taylor's BEST day--certainly fits the bill of the two adjectives in question. Take your pseudo-"pitch pefect" self to someplace where people will actually buy the BS that you're selling.

  • @mellynumerounoo Apparently we don't understand sarcasm when we see it. Taylor Swift is terrible, and CA is even worse. I am certainly no fan or either. In fact, it's generally a toss-up as to who is more offensive to my ears. At least Swift didn't get where she is on a TV reality show, where she was voted winner by 13-year-old girls voting multiple times. I have more respect for her for that reason. "American Idol" is a bad joke and has nothing to do with actual musical talent.

  • @wirenutt57 You're right, instead Taylor got to where she is by essentially reprising the diary entries of virtually every High School girl in Middle America. That's a more respectable means of achieving fame than by winning a TV reality show based on TALENT? Your logic and reasoning skills are almost as laughable as your so-called "perfect pitch." Once again, I'm still #LOL at you saying that Taylor Swift is a better singer than Carrie. You're a joke, old man.

  • @mellynumerounoo Let me guess, I'll bet you think Rebecca Black is going to be the next superstar. Good Lord, I really do have better things to do than to debate this sh!t with a teenage girl who acts like she's on meth. Consider yourself blocked and ignored, little girl.

  • @wirenutt57 Now you're likening Carrie's abilities to that of Rebecca Black? LMAO! Wow. You really are just a few brain cells off from the required threshold for being deemed a legal vegetable, aren't you? Yes, exactly...block me now since you so obviously lack the ability to debate your points intelligently and objectively. Acting like I'm on meth? Wow. The sad thing is that you're probably old enough to be my father, yet have a weaker brain capacity than my 6-year-old brother.

  • @wirenutt57 I knew you didn't have the intellectual stamina to continue a debate with someone who actually tailors their arguments around objective and relevant facts, as opposed to your ill-conceived, laughable delusions based on an apparent, deep-seated hatred for a particular artist just because you dislike the route she took to success. I guess that's why you just chose to bow out now instead of continuing to embarrass yourself as you've been doing for the past hour. Goodbye, old man.

  • @mellynumerounoo taylor swift sucks,carrie and martina mcbride,kick ass totally,espcially martina,;)

  • @wirenutt57 It's blatantly obvious just by the abrasive manner in which you refer to her (ie. Carrie BLUNDERwood) that your assessment of her talent couldn't possibly be any LESS objective, and that you have a personal axe to grind at the expense of both her and her fans. That alone, even WITHOUT factoring in your absurd and delusional claims about her singing, proves that you can't be taken seriously. Trying to intelligently debate with you about the mechanics of singing would be FUTILE.

  • Uh, Reba is a Bitch!

  • she just blows me away ever time i watch her i can not believe thats voice come outa that little lady she's the real deal

  • I also saw Carrie Blunderwood in concert (I went to see Little Big Town open for her, I'm NOT a Carrie fan) and I don't think she hit one note on pitch the entire first song; I had to get up and leave 30 seconds into the second song. So much for the "live auto-tuner" theory others have suggested. It's a studio tool, not a live concert device.

  • @wirenutt57 I know! I keep telling her fans she cant sing live (have you seen her sing mama's song at the 2010 cmas?) and they are in serious denial. Martina and Reba are the only female singers I absolutely adore and that can actually sing and sound like the cd. Too bad they are overlooked nowadays

  • @cuongoff I'll admit one thing: Carrie doesn't have the best vocal TECHNIQUE, which causes some of her notes to fall off sometimes. But she still has far more NATURAL ability and range than Martina could ever dream of. Again, even with Martina's PERFECT technique, she can't sustain anything past a C#5 live. Sure, she does the D5 at the end of "Broken Wing" live (the "you OUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGHTA") but it's usually so thin, brittle, and forced sounding. Carrie can sustain an F#. Martina could NEVER.

  • @wirenutt57 funny..I went to see her 2x and she was note for note..hmmmm..maybe, its just because you're not a Carrie fan huh? let me guess ..you are team Taylor?

  • @wirenutt57 Making up bullshit stories about Carrie (lmao, every PROFESSIONAL critic that reviews one of Carrie's shows remarks about how excellent her pitch control is) isn't going to make you precious Martina look any better. Martina actually goes off in her upper register QUITE a lot. Her "where would you BEEEEEEEEE" C#5 goes flat VERY often at the climax of this song. a C#5 for Carrie is CHILD'S PLAY. For Martina, it seems to be her last capable power note.

  • I went to see her live in concert three times in a row in three different cities last year just to hear her sing this. Because it takes so much out of her, she only did it at one of the three concerts. I still get chills thinking about it. She absolutely nailed every note every time. This little girl has more talent in the dirt under her fingernails than Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift have combined.

  • Sing it gurl!!!

  • @lifewriter2006 - I would have agreed with this statement until recently. I watched that "Girls Night Out" and Carrie sung the song "How great thou art" and it was simply breathtaking. I think Carrie is starting to find that same vibrating voice that Martina had (and still does). Amazing Song !!!

  • i love martina she has such an amazing voice and stage presence

  • Im a musician and im not usually this impressed. I had to say somthing. WOW she is really great.

  • WOW! What a great voice this woman has!!!!

  • Absolutely amazing. Her voice has NO flaws, none. And if there's going to be some, a live performance like this is when it comes out, but not in this case. She has probably the best female singing voice on the planet. I don't even think she knows how damn talented she is.

  • simply amazing..

  • formula 1,all others sprint car

  • what a voice!!!

  • Finally was blessed with the chance to see Martina live in concert and hear this song performed live, when she came to Halifax in March. I was at a loss for words didn't think I could love Martina anymore but I do. If you haven't seen her live GO because you will NOT regret it! Phenomenal and outstanding. (Even had a Martina encounter she stood like a foot in front of me after coming of the second stage and shook my hand, I was in complete shock haha)

  • i love martinas voice, but i'd like to hear what heart whould do with this song. what do you people think ?

  • she's amazing! :)

  • Omg I seen her in concert in Halifax and she was amazing... and so was this ong when she did it

  • wow. that song made cry because of how amazing and beautiful her voice is

  • OMG I LOVE HER.... i have been crying all night... Y? because i just found out i get to see her live April 23rd :-D

  • @BoUnDnBrOkEn627....I saw her here in Detroit last month. You are in for one hell of a great show!!!

  • @CrazyDave313 :-D i'm so stoked lol..... I've wanted to see her live for so long.... #1 on my list of things to do before i die was see her life & meet her. But, i doubt i'll get to meet her...but at least i'll get to see her live....

  • Martina is SO amazing! I love how she sounds the same live as she does on the CDs. She is my hero!

  • My hat is off... Martina you're soooooo great. Would love to see you give a concert in Finland.

  • Her voice is so POWERFUL and doesnt thin out on the high notes and she blows this song away. There is one Martina Mcbride and no matter how hard anyone tryed they could never sing like that!!!! she brings it and thats what you call TRUE TALENT!!!!! Martina your the best!!!! :-)

  • i agree....lolsss

  • @ashlielov....Well said!!!! Martina is unquestionably the best female vocalist in Nashville hands down...

  • this is wats missing in today's generation of musician... the ability to sound vocally outstanding live. i don't hear wear and tear at all in her vocal range which is more than wat i can say about some of her peers. martina is awesome!!

  • The "Queen " Of Vocals!

  • WOW! She gave this one everything. Beautiful!!!

  • My Niece is going through a break up with her boyfriend right now. I want her to hear this song. This is a powerful, brilliant, well vocalized song. Martina wins once again.

  • If you have never been to a Martina show I can tell you to definetly go they are AWESOME!!!

  • That girl playing the guitar to the side kinda looks like Taylor Swift. I don't think its her though. yeah she's too short

  • This performance sends a chill up and down my spine. She is GOOD!

  • I would say that this may be one of the most amazing performances in music history ,but. I might not be giving it all the credit it deserves.Unbelievable.

  • @stevediorio I have to agree.

She is absolutely phenomenal, pure, clean, real.

  • @stevediorio Check out her CMA Flameworthy awards performance... even better, and i'm sure it's hard for her to top herself... lol

  • WOW you can sing Martina ......please protect those vocals, I want to hear your voice for the rest of my life my goodness! WOW

Check out her acapella version here on youtube of oh holy night, whew, it's incredible just her voice, no accompanyment

  • Her voice is awesome! And she refuses to use the auto tuner that corrects your pitch during a performance. So all you hear is her true voice unlike Taylor Swift, John Michael Montgomery, Miley, Reba, Faith and Tim McGraw all use the autotuner. Other singer that refuse to use it is Vince Gill, Loretta Lynn, Trisha Yearwood, Garth, Patty Loveless, and Allison Moorer. They all can sing for real!

  • how did u know that

  • You forgot to include Carrie Blunderwood on your list . . . she struggles to stay on tune and in pitch but has sure made a career out of being a karaoke singer . . .

  • As far as I know Carrie is "what you hear is all her" no auto tuner or mic. She is a wonderful singer! We are all human and can't be perfect all the time but to use something to make us perfect is wrong. Just my choice if you like that then you buy it. Pretty soon there wont be anything to set us apart from the rest and then we can all sound wonderful, perfect and at the same singing level. boring...

  • @istarmusic...

REBA does NOT use any fake crap on her voice. i've seen her in concert and she can SING. just like on her records. now i dont care what you say about taylor swift because her voice is totally fake and i cant stand her, but you dont need to say crap about reba that aint true. she's been releasing records for over thirty years and touring. so apparently she can really sing.

  • this is off of an official report. " Though the process is usually reserved for studio use, some artists have been known to take the software with them on the road in order to offer spot-on live performances.

Country singers seem to especially love Auto-Tune -- Reba McEntire, Faith Hill and Tim McGraw are some of the artists whose use of the software in a live setting has been documented."--i rest my case.

  • @xXximamusicloverxXx and when she started back in the late 70s they didnt have as much mixing tapes and all the rest of that fake stuff that they have today so you know she can sing!!

  • martina is HOT. :D

  • i love her voice she is so good

  • 2:53..... WOW, i love this song!! She sings it perfectly!!!

  • ILOVE that song!

  • she could sing the phone book and still be amazing!

  • I still say you shouldnt have said that. Now everyone will bring their phonebooks to her concerts. LOL

  • @totie1988 Without a doubt on of the best singers out there today. Major vocal ability.

  • @totie1988 haha that made me smile. so true tho. her voice is out of this world,

  • Martina is the BEST singer ever she could sing anything and make it sound amazing!!! =D

  • Man, this is my SONG!!

  • Saw her in Flordia, she is just AMAZZZING!! She does just as GREAT live as she does on her albums!!! She's got the biggest voice to be SO tiny!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • lub lub lub this song

  • love love this song

  • Awsome!!!

  • Saw her in Las Vegas, she pumped the whole time. She is no bigger than a minute and actually jumps up and down to get it all out of herself. Live you hear that volume and sound and see it coming from this little thing on stage. It is very humbling.

  • Yea she's small....but in damn good shape....which is how she does so well besides raw talent.

  • God I freaking LOVE her!

  • cant wait till i see her in dublin its the first night she's in ireland and i'll be right up the front and i'll even buy her a drink afterwards

  • Hi I'm seeing her live in London, can't wait!!

  • alright honey you betta sing...

  • Some of the best, if not THE BEST pipes ever. I adore Martina!

  • belle video

    5*
