Thanks for watching! The American Quarter Horse is named after the distances they were known for, the quarter mile. In fact, they reach speeds of 40 MPH and hit that within 3-4 strides out of the gate. If you were watching a track meet the TB's would be running distance whereas the quarter horse would be running sprints. i think i prefer QH racing over Thoroughbred. their just so amazing! just pure power and muscle, thoroughbreds are all legs. these guys can run, thats for sure <3
