In dieser Aufnahme klingt die Stimme sehr dumpf und strahlt gar nicht. Ich habe ihn aber noch nie live gehört darum hoffe ich mal, es ist nur die Aufnahme so schlecht.

I think you have to close your eyes at the production...but Jonas is a fantastic tenor, whether he will sing the heavy Wagnerian roles is too early to say. And he's also good looking so he'll make a wonderful Siegfired.

These dynamics could ONLY work in the Festspielhaus at Bayreuth. The only house in the world where this music can be sung with the suggested dynamics and still sound equally in every seat in the house. It is perfectly designed for this kind of singing. You couldn't do this in any other house on the planet. The orchestration is simply too thick. It is not so much a problem with the orchestration that so many singers fight to be heard, but maybe a problem with the houses we're singing in.

Dieses dumpfe Gebrummel hat nichts mit dem strahlenden Lohengrin von z.B. Gedda (unabhaenging davon, dass er ihn auf der Buehne fast nie gesungen hat).

Wo ist seiner Glanz? Wo ist seiner Stimme? Diese abgedunkelte Dreck gefällt mir überhaupt nicht! Er ist kein Vorbild.  Vogt ist stimmlich besser aber ein verdammnte Belmonte. Was hat diese mit Wagner zu tun. Vogt singt wie ein Tussi und Hr. Kaufmann wie ein monotone Kuh! Boo Boo Boo

Ok, in diesem Mitschnitt aus Bayreuth fallen auch noch einige zu sehr verfärbte Vokale auf. Normalerweise gelingt ihm das besser.

Ich find Kaufmann immer noch besser, als dieses Jahr den Vogt. Das einzige Problem, welches ich bei Kaufmann höre, ist die zu sehr abgedunkelte Mittellage. Aber sonst sind seine Register gut verblendet und er weiss immerhin was er singt. Er macht die Figur real und das fehlt mir bei Vogt gänzlich.

Naja, das braucht man sich jetzt nicht mehr anhören, es wird ja hoffentlich bald eine Aufnahme von diesem Jahr mit Klaus Florian Vogt hier irgendwo sein. So soll der Lohengrin gesungen werden.

Je trouve cette mise en scène merdique, mais la prestation de Jonas Kaufmann m'a profondément émue. Ou est-ce Wagner qui me remue les tripes? de toute façon, BRAVO

Schade, dass die Inzenierung dafür sorgt, dass man sich die Figuren der Handlung im Kopf vorstellen muss, weil als Ratten und kellner stell ich mir die edle Ritterschaft nicht vor. Da hätten die bayreuther sich auch das Bühnenspiel sparen können. Nichts gegen Abstraktionen, aber das sah aus wie Nussknacker und der Mäusekönig und nicht wie Wagner. Thema verfehlt.

Ich bekomme stets Schmerzen um den Kehlkopf, wenn ich Jonas Kaufmann höre. Ja, die richtigen Wagner-Tenöre kommen ursprünglich vom hohen Bariton her. ABER: Nur wenn eine glorios klingende, fliessende Kopfresonanz sie OHNE BRUTALES STOSSEN nach oben trägt. Jonas Kaufmann ist für mich ein lyrischer Bariton, der im falschen Fach ist. Mir geht es nicht besser, wenn ich ihn gehört habe. Für mich hat die Stimme nur noch Weiss (Metall) und Schwarz (gutturale Brustresonanz), keine warmen Farben mehr.

@ONeirda Sehr geehrter Herr, Sie gehören zu den wenigen Leuten die das Singen verstehen. Sie sind ein richtiger Kenner. Sie haben recht und Ich stimme mit jedem Wort ein. Mit solchem Atemdruck und auf der Grundlage von Brustregister kann man nicht und gut singen. Wo gibt es eine hohe Koprfresonanz? Wo gibt es eine weiche Bewegung von Zwerchfell? Warum liest und kennt niemand Grosse Gesangschule für Deutschland? Wo gibt es alte Gesangtradition? Schade... Traurig, sehr traurig....

@ONeirda Interessant, dass ich Kaufmann schon seit Jahren fuer absolut farblos halte, dies ensteht durch die angewandte kuenstliche Technik, die Obertoene ganzlich missen lassen.

Der zweite Effekt der dadurch ensteht ist, dass er kaum ueber das Orchester kommt. In Paris, hat man wohl letztes Jahr eigens fuer Kaufmann einen Aufbau errichtet, damit seine Stimme besser schallt und durch das Orchester kommt.Naja, wer's braucht! Hoffe es geht Ihnen gut! Frankie

@ amokfilm und Frankie. Ich habe auch Ben Heppner den Lohengrin an der LA Opera singen gehoert, und fantastisch war er nicht. Vielleicht vor 15 Jahren konnte er die Rolle noch prima singen, aber zu dieser Zeit leider nicht.

@ploplisphilin Yes! thank God! but Jonas not only can sing Wagner like a god but french and italian repertoire. He is amazing, with such a color in his voice and an unbilievable interpretation because he sings with his vocal cords, his mind, his heart and his guts
