They removed the risk banks take in making loans to low-credit people. The plan relied on the feds vast resources to subsidized lending. Wrong, actually two dems did it under the Clinton presidency. Franks, Dodd, and six others got sweetheart deals pushing banks to lend, then turning it over to Freddie and Frannie. Bush and really McCain (another progressive) called Franks on the troubles of Freddie and Frannie back in 2004. Franks then said, there was no problem. Look it up you can see Franks say it himself. It Franks would have admitted a problem then,....we wouldn't be in such bad shape today.

Your video is not the smoking gun that shows Barney Frank was responsible for the sub-prime mortgage crisis during a time with a Republican controlled Congress and Administration.

The bill to allow sub-prime mortgages was a Republican deregulation plan under Bush and put together walked through congress by the Republicans.
