i think it would be more effektive if it would use modern grafics?! it looks like a 2002 game, im pretty sure they paid a lot of money for this think, why could they use todays games to build the simulation
I know that its not a game but it had been cool with a viritual game of war there you control a group of soldiers that play online or you can have to gameconsoles so you can play co-op. Dont you think?
I'm so sorry!!! In 2003 there was a boy named Link, and his friends at school were bullying him and laughing at him because his name was the same as a game character. Half a year later he was found in the kitchen with a knife. He had slit his throat. If you don't put this on 3 videos in 10 minutes, he will stab you with the knife in your neck while you're asleep

what about call of duty or medal of honor? It's quite educational. And WW2 games can also get people interested in History. And video games about war can relieve people from stress. War games also got me interested in the news and technology, without war games I wouldn't be watching CNN or Discovers. Video Games can be useful.

video games can turn little kids into thinking they are invincible. video games make kids think that shooting and killing is cool, that it brainwashes them. from what i heard, it can also trigger shootings, but it all depends on the individuals, and the responsibility of the parents.
Well duh why would you let a 4 year old kid play games like call of duty. Maybe when he's more mature. However research shows that video games can make you smarter and can lessen aggresion cause you can take out your rage in the game. Just make sure the child can determine what's a game and real life, which most children can do, I think. Cause those "shootings" are very rare. And if every child that play Halo would get influenced to kill by the game. then we would see gunfight's in every school.
that's actually not true. the brain processes the stimuli almost the same. especially with the smells. smells trigger memory more than any other sense. and, in case you missed the memo, there are more than 5 senses. lots of '-ception' words. balance, etc.
it certainly would be more realistic if it looked more realistic, but absolute realism is not the goal. the immersion is still there. and making it look too real might cause more anxiety and trauma. it depends on the individual i suppose.
i'm most curious about the virtual commanding officers. chances are they won't exist even though in reality they play one of the most significant roles in the psychological damage of war.
i think photo realistic virtual commanding officers would be one of the best ways to relieve some of the stress. maybe dress them in little girls' dresses or have them virtually role in a sunny field of grass. and maybe you'd have a virtual taser...
George... I used to like your show. All i gotta say less than 5OOO american soldiers dead and more than a million Iraqis dead; in an illegal war no less. These people are just trying to protect their country (with no tanks, body armour, sufficient weapons no less... while a bunch of misfits rape their country and people. When the fuck are you going to tell it from their side?
Thats why there are French, American, Spanish and Iranian insurgents in the area. Either ask a soldier or go there yourself and nab a passport from an insurgent.

As someone who suffers from Iraq related PTSD, I don't think that this is a good idea.

well worded inrepgun,
your right it may actually cause more anxiety now that i think of it,
i just think if the goal is to immerse them it should look as real as possible
but your also right with the smell thing

Well, the fact that people can adapt maybe the reason the people are getting over their Post traumatic stress. That's my theory
