  • Hi, I took your advice and had the LANAP Tx. As I was told the ligament and bone regeneration take about 6-9 months to show evidence, should I do flossing and waterpik cleansing after Tx? How soon can I floss and not disturbing the regeneration process: the goal of the LANAP?

  • @BWCist Congratulations on having the LANAP procedure. I would recommend soft brushing (be gentle) until 6 months after LANAP. That means no water pick until then. Light flossing without going under the gum at 6 weeks. Hope this helps.

  • Hi, my periodentist wants to do osseous surgery on me becasue he thinks the bacteria is hiding in the bnonicles deep in the root underneath the gum. Do you think the LANAP treatment can get to the bonicles deep in the root and gum? Also, does the bonicle and bacteria reside in the bony surfaces underneath the gum? In the LANAP video, it only shows the laser in the root and gum environment, not in the bone and gum area.

  • @BWCist Yes, the LANAP treatment affects and removes the infection from the bone.

  • Can LANAP replace root planing? I am going to a dentist in a week and I think they are going to suggest root planing due to my gum recession. I really want to find a dentist that does LANAP.

  • @papercandles Yes, LANAP can replace root planning. In fact it is superior to root planning.

  • Very good!!! Glad you are concerned about Whoopi's teeth.... :-)

  • write a script before you speak, no disrespect

  • LANAP? are you kidding?

  • What do you know about LANAP?

  • What's the cost of this new procedure in reversing as gum disease?

  • Every case is unique. I would first suggest you have a consultation first to find out if you are a candidate. The investment could be anywhere between $1,000 and $6,000 depending on the case and the dentist. Though if you compare that to the average cost for one implant for one tooth it is a minimum of $3,000 the Lanap procedure allows you to keep all your teeth.

  • I hope so too.

  • I wish she would find a LANAP dentist before someone yanks all her teeth.
