The white loot is there because of the drop rate. If we have like 10,000 items droping out of Durael, the drop rate for the best items are very low. If we have like 1000 items total dropping out of him, the best items will have a lot higher drop rate.
they should make hammer of the ancients a bigger 360 degree aoe cuz i personaly like it better then seismic slam, but seicmis slam does way more dmg, and is almost ranged cuz its aoe goes so far ahead. the +15% seems to be poor compinsation
It's so blatantly obvious that the removal of the cauldron and cube is to help regulate gold income. I thought this last 'cast and was surprised it took you guys so long to think about it this 'cast. If you have a high income with nothing to spend it on then you end up with the situation we had in Diablo 2 where gold was near worthless.
Also, Jesse is massively annoying and every time you agree with him, Force, Blizzard delays Diablo 3 another month. And kills a kitten. Stop it.

EA has you link into their account structure for their games even on consoles such as PS3 and 360 in which you link to your account. Ubisoft also has their Ubisoft service, which is also done that way. Exceptions can be made if the company is big enough to release a lot of hit software, or if the game itself is in high enough demand to introduce the connection.

@Azatis Jesse is not being funny, rather making a clown of himself. Sure, it's about gaming and may be intended for younger audience, but as far as I recall, D3 has an M rating. It's not the teletubbies. I find Jesse's rambling very annoying, as if he was trying too hard to be humorous, randomly cute or whatever, but in my opinion fails hard. I dislike him and wish Force would just stop casting with him.

I don't get why they removed scroll of identity. Did they really want people not picking up any white items that badly? It just doesnt seem right just right clicking it, at that point why have the items unidentified at all? You cant even sell Unided items in the AH
@ForceSC2strategy White items in D2 were not useless. They were sometimes extremely valuable, and a lot of them were very tradeable if you had to make runewords out of them, like enigma, fortitude, faith, and so one. Some white items, like Paladin scepters with +3 First of Heavens and +3 Convinction would sell for 35 High Runes.
One of the things awesome about D2 is that there were great items for all item classes - whites, blues, yellows, etc.

i'm from korea but i think blizzard is just acknowledging korean fans. there is no cultural reason we would ask blizzard to make youtube videos. but strangely, they have a separate youtube account for us. english, german, french, spanish, and russian are all on the same account. i can only guess maybe the special attention is because of our competitive gaming market.

My guess is that a lot of players in the bata have been selling items by mistake. Because players where playing with there inventory open and unintentionally selling good items. That is my guess as to why they removed the caldron and cube. If I broke down a Stone of Jordon while intending to to break down junk I would be pissed. Maybe they noticed that was a problem in testing.

Blizzard lets be honest here. The only reason you start to cut stuff out from the game thats already in it, is so you will be able to realese an expansion with the cool "new" stuff at a later date and get money for it
Regarding the conference calls, Q4 has happened or will end by Jan 31, 2012 if it is Fiscal 2011. I'd say Q1 Fiscal would be Feb-Apr 2012. The conference call will talk about what happened in the Quarter not what is expected to happen. Conference calls happen after the quarter has ended.
However, based on their last year Year-end financial report they actually DO follow calendar year as their fiscal year. Therefore I will assume at the latest end of March, early April for a D3 release.
I hate it, you just can have 7 skills activated!!, in Diablo 2 I actually can use 16 different skills activated, from F1 to F12 and another 4 buttons, so I can change it easily, I'll love it if in Diablo 3 they do that, but not...
Jessie is on point this week lol The white item issue is complete bs. They made white items grey items, just a different color. There will always be gamers with different playstyles. I prefer to kill more monsters with the time I would normally be looting garbage, some prefer to loot every single item and squeak out a living by selling that shit no matter the cost.
I believe the issue of white items being junk is an effort to slow 3rd party RMT, which we all know is a huge problem. Not because it 'screws' the economy of the game, but the lengths these 3rd party companies go to to obtain our gold/items.

They meant calendar Q1 not fiscal Q1. A company doesn't use fiscal quarters when announcing public due dates. Also, they had the Q4 conference call during "fiscal Q1" because it takes time to close out the accounting records.
The removal of the Scroll of Companion was just another step to combat gold farmers. Just like what was discussed in the cast, "They can't stop gold farming but they will take measures to slow them down".

IMO they should just take grey items out if they are gonna make white items similar to what they were no reason to have redundancy. Also i am very satisfied with the changes they went with for the tool tips for skill I was one of the people frustrated when I heard they were simplifying it. They ended making a perfect system to tailor to both noobs and vets even if they dont do the option people suggested to them.
maybe we could eventually find some gemmed white items? that could be cool... would make a very rare white item be worth picking up to have the gem extracted by the jeweler... another gold sink!!

whats so hard to understand the game will revolve around gold (aka real money) and if people take white items and sell them for gold now when i say people i mean a LOT of people, that would make amount of gold on battle net in hands of players huge!! They took away the cauldron because of goldfarmers, They probably took away the goldpicking pet because of goldfarmers who would just run and slauther 3824567923568932 enemies as a bot and get all the gold super easy
They are trying to make the most optimum way to play the game fun not a grind... I dont see how people cant see that. With the cube and cauldron the optimum way to play the game is picking up every last item and salvaging it or selling it. Without them now you kill more demons faster because you are not worried about picking every last item up. While this play style isnt wrong it is most certainly not fun and they want people to have a fun experience. Its not like Blizz is out to get you...
Force, FYI: Jay Wilson and other Blizzard Korea videos that just came out were for the Lunar New Year (Jan 23). Many asian countries such as China, Korea, Vietnam consider Lunar New Year the biggest holiday of the year. One of the tradition of Lunar New Year is that you greet all your family and friends for a peaceful and successful year.
I agree with bringing back Jesse. He adds that extra color-commentary to this, which is pretty good. This is turning out to be a great 3-man team in which the differing opinions really seem to cover the different thoughts from different Diablo players well.
My opinion on the simple tool tips is that I think they went a little too simple with it. Even dynasty warriors was more advanced in their descriptions. What I think they should do is add 2 little words to the short description. You still have to level these abilities up. You need that feedback. They should do it like the other simpler games. A simple 2 word label. {Level 1} And then when you upgrade it, say {Level 2}. That way you know it is better than before, without the math.
White items were really important in D2, i enjoyed scanning the screen for white items that can be useful for rune words. I had many mules full of this.

Jessie is on point this week lol The white item issue is complete bs. They made white items grey items, just a different color. There will always be gamers with different playstyles. I prefer to kill more monsters with the time I would normally be looting garbage, some prefer to loot every single item and squeak out a living by selling that shit no matter the cost.

I believe the issue of white items being junk is an effort to slow 3rd party RMT, which we all know is a huge problem. Not because it 'screws' the economy of the game, but the lengths these 3rd party companies go to to obtain our gold/items.

They meant calendar Q1 not fiscal Q1. A company doesn't use fiscal quarters when announcing public due dates. Also, they had the Q4 conference call during "fiscal Q1" because it takes time to close out the accounting records.

IMO they should just take grey items out if they are gonna make white items similar to what they were no reason to have redundancy. Also i am very satisfied with the changes they went with for the tool tips for skill I was one of the people frustrated when I heard they were simplifying it. They ended making a perfect system to tailor to both noobs and vets even if they dont do the option people suggested to them.

Love new stat system - now I wont have to swap the same gearset between all of my characters.
Build committment is important - the Nephalem Altar should be reimplemented to avoid people stopping mid-combat to swap skills.

Guys, with respect to conference calls, those work in the context of a fiscal year so you're correct about it being Q4 atm. However, with game releases, the quarters refer to the straight forward, intuitive regular year so Q1 = Jan - April

They are trying to make the most optimum way to play the game fun not a grind... I dont see how people cant see that. With the cube and cauldron the optimum way to play the game is picking up every last item and salvaging it or selling it. Without them now you kill more demons faster because you are not worried about picking every last item up. While this play style isnt wrong it is most certainly not fun and they want people to have a fun experience. Its not like Blizz is out to get you...

My opinion on the simple tool tips is that I think they went a little too simple with it. Even dynasty warriors was more advanced in their descriptions. What I think they should do is add 2 little words to the short description. You still have to level these abilities up. You need that feedback. They should do it like the other simpler games. A simple 2 word label. {Level 1} And then when you upgrade it, say {Level 2}. That way you know it is better than before, without the math.
