Sigh, wasted youth and wasted quarters. While somewhat innovative I would rather be hancuffed to a Pit-Fighter machine and forced to play 24 hours than waste money on this game. It's that bad.
I totally lolled at "But it still sucked balllllls." I just landed here from Google and had no idea what the tone of the show was gonna be. It seemed so official before that line! LOL. Nice work. Thx for the memoriez
This review is SOOOO TRUE!!! I remember playing this when I was a kid and I always thought it was the dumbest game ever and it didnt make any sense at all! The controls are horrible and that skull is so annoying! The ONLY cool thing was that is was a HOLOGRAM! Thats IT! They should of made more of these hologram games though. This one doesnt do the technology justice. Its still pretty neat.
Another humourless and pretentious attempt at mimicking the stereotypical "Angry Videogame Reviever".Laserdisc games, which were originally made for arcades between popcorn and pizza places, are such an "original" target. Especially critizising the "acting" (as if getting an Oscar was the developers goal).
It's obvious that DVD technology can't recreate the original holographic 3D display, but at least, you get the original video footage on the disc. It's a game from an entirely different era.
The reviewer was too damned critical on one of the if not THE first hologram games out there. Of course its going to look cheesy, its supposed to. Damn... Give credit where credit is due. I mean, virtual fighter was no differant and its in the Smithsonian now.
The only time I ever saw this game was at the airport, and it was only there for a short while. I started to think I was crazy cause I couldn't find this game anywhere else. Think god for the internet.
I too remember this game from going to the Arcade. Know what I remember about it? It was EXPENSIVE to play! It was like $1.50 per play, and that was a lot for one credit in 1991.
This game fucking sucked! I remember playing it back in 1991-92 and laughing at how cheesy the acting and how awful the gameplay was. Almost 20 years later, this thing hasn't aged well at all.
I was 10 when this game came out. Back then going to the arcade was fun because there wasn't anything else to do in 1991. I remember it was a cool looking game with a hot 3d blonde, however the game itself was hard and confusing. I also remember it was very expensive to play. Most game were a quarter, whereas this one was a dollar to play and you were dead in less than 2 minutes.
@funh3ll Nah, the government still wants the tactical warfare games to continue as manipulation for war minded and political minded people. they want everyone to live in fear, thats all. Evolution of video games to the point of time traveler will not happen for political reasons alone.
I used to work in a bowling alley in the UK and we had this game there. When not being played it used to say "winners don't use drugs" over and over and over! Almost 29 years later I still say it in a bad American accent! Great stuff!
Geez this game takes me back. I remember watching people play it a lot though I only played it myself a couple times. It was such a odd game and well it sure stood out.
I really like this video review since I barely remember it as kid! On a side note, GameHeroes needs to streamline all of their content like this, forum questions, reviews (obviously), news.. it'd be much easier to watch and quicker bites rather than watching a whole 30 min video.
I remember this sooo well from the arcade, back then it was pretty fuckin amazing just to look at. I remember an oldddd review and the graphics and sound both scored 100% and the gameplay like 12% lol.
This, operation wolf and the Afterburner R360 were the most vivid memories I had when I was a young'en.
Do something on the R360, please ;) There has been nothing like it before or since.
Sigh, wasted youth and wasted quarters. While somewhat innovative I would rather be hancuffed to a Pit-Fighter machine and forced to play 24 hours than waste money on this game. It's that bad.

This video would be pretty good if it wasn't for the lame ass narrator.

Wow... this narrator is a complete hater. It's like listening to a Modern Warfare 2 player review videogames.

The narrator has no idea what he was talking about, this game was awesome in its hay day.
