I was there in '02, '03, & '04. I saw it gradually build up. But I definitely know what you're talking about. I remember not being able to walk without tracking up enough dust to choke someone.

I kind of miss it to be honest.

It's pretty posh compared to previous wars and such but what it is is a culmination of what every soldier has wished for for generations and that's a sign that the army cares for it's soldiers.

If we have the resources to give it then let's do it, that doesn't make them soft it boosts morale and makes them better warriors for it. This is unlike any other war; your enemy has no uniform, no country and the battle lines are fluid to non-existant.

That is like a 4 star hotel compared to what my grampa was in. He said that sometimes people would go crazy cause of the lice. I know our soldiers are brave and all, but they seem a bit softer than the ww2 vets.

compared to an average holiday camp... from what they showed on t.v. it has pizza hut and other stuff like that and also most of the beds they showed looked way better than most hotels ive been in but im not saying that its an easy or nice place to be because i know its not.
