I understand why you dislike PETA to a certain degree, but they do successfully publicise animal rights/vegetarianism to a massive audience which other organisations do not (their videos on youtube turned me veggie 4 years ago!) You make it sound like they are animal rights 'double agents' going round trying to kill animals. They are good at heart, if a little OTT.
I have nothing against Vegans hey to each his own. I ran into a PeTA person ranting about animal crultey proudly wearing an A&F sweatshirt. I boldly said to her "Did you know young children are shackled and forced to make those clothes you are wearing fror pennies to feed their families?" She just got huffy and walked away.
WHY do people forget about human life and human tourcher?
great. absolutly great, You are right on all edges! I just made a video on animal testing, I know this might sound like advertising, but it wouldmean the world to me if you checked it out and commented. You are such a great person from what you say, this is the first video I see of you, I will defnitly see more.
At least the concept of finding a cure for a disease via animals makes sense. I really wish there was a better way, but I understand using a live host organism to study what the disease does. Hopefully in the future we can find more humane and more affordable ways to get better results and leave the animals in peace.
But cosmetic and home product tests using animals seem absolutely barbaric and sick. Many forms of animal tests are illegal in the US, but some companies still use them in secret.
You know how when you hear about something painful, you immediately grasp the said body part, as if to protect it? When you described what Gillette does with their razors, it literally made my skin crawl. That's disgusting.
PeTA gets a decent amount of eye rolls for their campaigns but I don't buy into that "PeTA kills animals" tripe (people usually base this off of one incident and ignore the fact that they have a free euthanasia service). I do however, appreciate them as a useful resource.
I don't like animal testing or abuse, period. As the dominant species we should take care of our responsibilities and try to maintain balance in nature with technology and science, not ruin it.
But if it's a cure for AIDS/HIV or Cancer that has to be tested, I'd allow it. As long as the Animals are treated humanely and safely as possible. As you said, hopefully scientists will move to synthetics and manmade biological organ testing soon. Animals, wild or tame are above that.
Totally agree. Animal cruelty is something that blows my fuse in a very bad way. PETA is quite zealous but I think if your going to go that intense you should join the Animal Liberation Front or something and get a belaclava, at least do it in style.
The best answer is this: Look towards where that biological warfare testing center, that USED TO BE on Plum Island, and is now being placed in Middle America. Plum Island, yes! Hannibal the Cannibal was going to be sent there, "on vacation", from his cell, as part of the deal, remember? How else can we find out what the latest anthrax/combo superbad bug will do?
Awesome video! I completely agree with you. Animal testing is wrong. Also, I read that Proctor & Gamble is a big animal testing company. Unfortunately, it's hard to find products that aren't made by or distributed by P&G. I just wish people would learn that animal testing is not the answer.
Awesome vid! its good to hear your opinions again! I agree with you and while i'm not a vegitarian, I am 100% against pointless cruelty and slaughter. I dont usually eat from places that are known for cruelty (kfc..enough said) but I had no idea about the razers...i almost puked...but it is a good thing to know!
Animal testing is still done because some side-effects require a complete organism to detect. The FDA requires animal testing on drugs and some cosmetics. As for the Gillette thing, its bullshit, Gillette doesn't test razors on animals. They have shaved rabbits to test aftershave, but the skin peeler thing is a PETA released rumor as part of their ineffective 10 year campaign. Ironically the Humane Society succeeded with where peta failed by being honest. AT down 90% and alternatives used.
I figured it could very well have been bullshit, it is PeTA after all. Until I see photos and/or footage, that's why I made it a point to emphasize SUPPOSEDLY before saying that..
Very good way to look at it. Not always practical though. PETA distributed a video they claimed was Gillette doing razor testing that peeled skin, but was skin being removed for a laboratory test of a new kin graft technique. Its SOP for PETA to use video's of the worst illegal practices and lie that they are the norm for what they show. Sorry to preach but PETA's self-righteous bullshit really gets under my skin.
It's because of lawers and letigious people. See, if something happens ot some one due to make up like say, an alergic reaction, people might sue. Now, then the plantif's lawers asks if they (make up company) if they did everything they could to see if the product was safe, the make up company wants to be able to say "yes" so they don't lose the case.
This is why I use 'King of shaves' products, they're very good also. Oh and if you want a toothpaste that is not animal tested (not easy to come by), try 'Kingfisher'.

Congratulations on your marriage Quanyin!

BRAVO ON THIS VIDEO!!
I totally support this video 100 %
We have to make a stance by first avoid purchasing products that are tested on animals.
Suave, Equate, Gillette, Brute, L'Oreal, Arm and Hammer, Crest, Johnson and Johnson, Tide, Clorax, and countless others all test on animals.
By the way, Walmart does carry Colgate and I believe they don't use animals either. I'm still doing a more indepth research on Colgate.
Anyways it starts with us. Don't buy their products!
