I have this on an album of Edison records, cylinder & disk(plus ad slogans and a doll's voice) I purchased at the former Edison labs in NJ.
For some fool reason, I suggest the alternate title "Perspicacity requires a head" with a picture of headless, limbless figures marching across a field.
Van Epps had a strong interest in recording, as well as in playing. In the heyday of long-playing records, he invented and patented
a cutting-recording lathe capable of producing microgrooves up to 1000 to the inch. He admitted no company would ever go to that extreme, but he commented that "it as a great selling point."
