Well maybe it [Vista] did but it wasn't designed with touch in mind. They didn't put much thought into it. I agree the iPad is a limiting platform but that wasn't the point I was making. Using Windows on a touch interface is not a nice experiece. Windows 8 looks to be addressing my complaints anyway. My Mac is 6 years old btw and still meets my needs fine.

The problem with this is that it just looks like a tech demo. I'm not knocking it, it is quite impressive but unlike the iPad which was designed from the ground up with a touch interface in mind, this just looks like they bolted a few cool touch features onto Windows 7 as an afterthought. There aren't really that many USEFUL things you can do on Win 7 using touch alone (ie web browsing, email, text editing) without becomming frustrated. That's why they'll die in the marketplace.

Because you're aware that Vista had single touch implemented and that UNLIKE THE IPAD Windows 7 has had touch implemented since the beginning and can be used to do FAR more than the iPad, plus, you don't have to give money to Apple and can constantly upgrade the PC without the need to buy a new one. And that's why they are actually doing really well in the market place.

It's not at all like Apple. There is not one single Apple Computer with a multitouch screen. Apple only offers a phone (iPhone) and an ebook reader toy (iPad) with a multitouch screen and very limited functionality compared to a PC.

And contrary to your statement it's lightning fast.

coool but I don't feel like swutchung to 7 cause I heard you loose finger gestures when you use it. and the M gesture won't work on 7 I'll just stick to vista and buy a tablet with 7 already installed. Can any of these apps work on vista also is that globe map accurate like in all reall locations of buildings and ETC.
