oh my. the norwegian dubbing is definatly better than the english one. he is funny and makes different voices for the people without saying `he says` and `this is happening`. really annoying.
They SOOOOO have gotta release this onto DVD if it can be found! otherwise they'll have to find orginial recording and redub it - it's such a great movie!!!
This is the first time I see this UK version, and I must say, I'm shocked! Narrated by one single person changes the whole film, it makes it sterile!!! And worst, the beautiful songs are covered by chattering :-( What a cheap way of dubbing this masterpiece. why didn't they just subtitle one of the two original versions (either the czech or the eastgerman)? All the atmospere of the original versions has gone, I surprised that THIS was a succes nevertheless
Interesting... I think they should have dubbed it properly though. It is such a wonderful and magical movie. German tv shows it every year during Christmas time.
I was talking about this in work the other day, and just can't belive I've found it on You Tube. Thanks a mil for bringing me back all those memories, and proving I didn't make it all up!!! God I'm getting OLD!!
interesting..the norwegian version has a male speaking to, but instead of telling the storry along with the movie, he sort of dubbes all the voices =)
Thank you for making my day. I remember watching this movie when I was a kid in the late seventies. I've been searching video stores and the net for a copy of this movie for a long time. To finally see clips of this movie is wonderful. I would love to see the rest of the movie if you have it. Thank you very much for the smile today... Jewel
this brings back so many memories, i remember there being another film shown not long after this on bbc, i can't remember what it was called, but it was about a servant/prince who could choose one of the kings daughters to marry, they were all on a boat, faces covered with veils, and a bee or bird helped him find the most beautiful one, can anyone else remember this one or what it was called?
Such a fond memory from childhood. How did you get hold of this, and do you have the other 2 episodes as shown in UK. Love to see what title sequence the BBC made for it. I have the original film version on DVD but prefer the way it was shown in UK. Do you have any other old 70s serials?...Im trying to track down Kizzy
Thank you so much ..I've not seen this since I was a child in the 70s and to see it again. its an absolute joy..Thank you..Thank You.you've so made my day..

That was called Golden Hair in English - Zlatovlaska in Cezech. I too remember that well
thomani9 4 years ago
Golden Hair is still in the BFI archives on 16mm film, it was produced in the UK by the BBC film buyer of the time Peggy Miller for a UK dubbing.

It was fairy tale Zlatovláska (something like Girl with golden hair)
