Rancid were a band that meant alot to me growing up but having just heard this and The Bastards cover and their replacing of the lyric "The system has failed you, dont fail yourself" with some self referential bilge about going to California I'm realising that they are a bunch of middlers that have done very well by the system singing to fellow middle class trustafarians. Punk rock they aint.

So I guess you have a better ideology then? I like describing communism as anarchy without the violent revolution. You know, Stalinism and Leninism were huge crimes against communism. They totally abused it.

There is no such thing as a "better" ideology, an ideology is an ideology, and all ideologies mean something to a different person. I was only kidding, obviously they are not speaking against communism at all. Marxism does not work at all, I'm sorry, and it is no way related to anarchy, actually capitalism is much more closely to anarchy than communism.

Communism only works as long as you have someone to borrow from. The ChiCom's realized this which is why most of their economic decision's lean more toward capitalism than communism... sadly the point could be argued that recently they've been more of a capitalist country than the U.S- economically, of course.
