  • Thalia, I so enjoy your videos. You cook with such a relaxed nature, and are very easy to follow. I became hooked after watching you make clafoutis. Now I am going to try every recipe. Thanks so much!

  • Looks so good! I think I will try it for EId!

  • Thank you very much for your incredible recipes! Just got one question: so we use RAW almonds to make almond mixture to stuff the dates?

  • @fetikkatusha correct. it's raw almonds that we blanch in boiling water and remove their skin. you can buy blanched almonds if you want to save time, or even blanched roasted almonds for more flavor!

  • @cookingwithalia Thank you very much!

  • Great for afternoon coffee!!!!

  • i lovve dates just plain with milk, but i will try these ones also for a change

  • Thank you for sharing :-) I couldn't find orange blossom water and used orange peel instead (that of organic oranges). Have a nice day!

  • These look so very special and delicious! When I was growing up my grandmother used to stuff dates with a pecan half and roll them in powdered sugar. I have never seen dates here in the Southeastern US look as big and delicious as those you have. I think I will try my local Middle Eastern store to see if they carry the big ones. Thank you for sharing this recipe.

  • Can you please write the ingredients in the description? Thanks.

  • @mszeineb

you can view and print the recipe with all the ingredients in my website cookingwithalia(dot)com

  • hi Alia, whats the name of the song in this video?

  • speak sloooowly!!!

  • I've never had a date...do they taste like raisins?

  • @romero271991 no not all. Dates are more chewy than raisins and taste completely different. You should try them. The organic ones are usually sold in Whole Food stores.

  • @romero271991 no their very sweet and delivous raisins are kind of sweet but little more sour and chewy but dates are soft and melt in your mouth!!

  • @PrinceJamal95 Thank you!

  • I LOVE this music

  • Do you really prepare food in that beautiful dress which really enhances your loveliness? Or do you change into an apron to keep from getting chocolate all over? ;-)

  • the sweet dates are so amazing!!! thank you allia so much!!!! waiting for some more ramadan specials ... we all rely on you!!!!

  • what do the silver leaves taste like? or what other seasonings/foods come close to the approximate flavor of silver leaf? (or does it have any flavor at all?)

Almond paste + walnuts.... best snack ever! I tried making almond paste before, but was distracted for a while and didn't pay attention to the food processor.... i ended up with a sweet almond butter. ;-)

  • @rkmugen

Silver leaves do not really taste like anything - it's more for decoration!

  • Is the salty version eaten in Morocco, or is it a recipe you came up with.

  • @BeckyInCa

It is not an authentic Moroccan recipes (the sweet one is authentic Moroccan) - but many people in Morocco nowadays, fill dates with different cheese or pastes.

  • @cookingwithalia

The flavor combination sounds interesting. I might give it a try.
