wow! i've been catching gar the hard way. lol. they are more fun to reel in though. i use cut bait to catch them on so i thought it was funny hearing someone suggesting to use them as cut bait. glad they didn't destroy your net!

Greg, they were surprisingly docile once in the net. They're also generally easy to handle when they come up in the gill net.

I do think I got lucky that the net didn't end up in any mouths! That would've torn it up I think.

yeah i found a big school of what i thought were catfish stacked up in a DEEP DEEP HOLE, and it was 100's of gar
