Just coming back from a japanese attack, and my aircraft was seriously damaged. Indeed, this was oil on the Cockpit window.

The planes are likley to explode when there are such a masive impact at 1:49-50. And many other situations. What is so speciall about this plane? Why can it take so much more punishment than others?

@AAAZ2A Chance/Vought knew corsairs would be taking a beating (carriers @ rough seas, off airport operations, high speed high G flight). They designed the plane w/ strength in mind. The wings shape allowed a shorter gear length so they could beef em up. The wing spar went right through the airplane, at the point of the firewall. (making it a nexus of strength). A round/oval monocoque fuselage, stressed skin tail, helped too.
