  • HOW DID YOU GET HIM TO SIGN IT?!? (or maybe it came in the mail ALREADY SIGNED?)

  • @Pikachu57899 I was lucky to get a signed copy. Later on I met Kamiya-san at a convention, where I asked him to sign another set of diagrams I have from him.

  • IS THERE AN ENGLISH VERSION OF THE BOOK??

  • @joshovideos The book is printed in English and Japanese, so an English translation is already included in the original book.

  • My parents allow me to buy it on online

  • My mom

  • could u help me wid the ancient dragon steps 80 to 87 plz i think i have been stuck there for a month

  • @TheJ1B Try consulting an origami forum for help, eg. snkhan(dot)co(dot)uk/forum/viewtopic(dot)php?f=4&t=446

  • i am have been looking forever for that book, unfortunately my parents wont allow me to order it online.

  • did u make the ancent dragon?

  • @immanuelnona1998 Yes, I've folded the ancient dragon. It's one of the most complex pieces I've completed to date, actually. But then again, it's one of the most complex models out there. ;)

  • how mush dose it cost in USD money not Euros

  • @zepol246 83.33.

  • which is harder the ancient dragon or eastern dragon? i made the eastern dragon ad want to make the ancient dragon.

  • @origami072700ksc The Eastern Dragon by Joseph Wu is much much easier to fold than the Ancient Dragon by Satoshi Kamiya.

  • @AdamsSara i ment satoshi kamiya's other dragon not the bahamut or ancient the other dragon

  • @AdamsSara the dragon in origam convention (your vid) pause at 0:10

  • can do you make any work of satoshi k. ? can you make the phoenix ? i have the intrucction but only drawing but nothing in writing.

  • @alfman3 Sorry, I won't be presenting any of Satoshi Kamiya's work. This is his wish, and I respect it.

  • @AdamsSara You Can Download Diagrams for it online.

  • @Zack0777Aran Not legally, so I suggest you don't do it.

  • @AdamsSara im a filipino and i dont know how to understand japanese if i buy a book is it in japanese

  • @AdamsSara I got the book and made the Anicent dragon and Chocobo very good book.

  • OMG IT'S SIGNED BY HIS MARVELOUS HOLY DIVINE DRIPPING WITH THE ELIXIR OF EDEN HANDS!!!!!!!!!! Ooooooh the envy.

  • is it in english? plz reply cus i was thinking of buying it and it would be a waste of money if it was not in english =S

  • what is yen??

  • 6.000 yen what the heck is yen japan money or idk but on i saw it in usd for only 64

  • can you make a vd on the details(last step)

  • @mobradovic00 I will not be posting any instructions - be it full or partial - for any of Satoshi Kamiya's models. Sorry, this is his wish, and I respect it.

  • is there a book for the phoenix and the ryujin?

  • @mhkb88 There are no full diagrams for either. For the Phoenix there's a crease pattern on Satoshi Kamiya's website. For the Ryu Jin, Satoshi just recently published a new book. It includes some help on the folding of Ryu Jin. Check w w w(dot)origamihouse(dot)jp/book/kamiya/socym(dot)html

  • @AdamsSara thanks:)

  • do u even know wat a chocobo is

  • @XsHiNiKaMiX1 A yellow bird featured in Final Fantasy? :p

  • I have this book online

  • have you folded the bahamut yet?

  • @godfreak100 No, I haven't. I'm not particularly keen to attempt it, though.

  • does that book hold the flying crane diagram

  • @100chochotrain No, it doesn't.

  • thank you i have buyed that book for 52 euro at origami house :)))

  • from what website you have buy it and how much is the price because i want but that book to plzz tell me

  • @matsuboy007 Check

    happyfolding(dot)com/book-kamiya-works_of_satoshi_kamiya_1995_2003

for two links to shops. I think the cheapest source is Origami House: 57USD (incl. shipping to US) or 52EUR (incl. shipping to Europe) or 5700 JPY (incl. shipping to Japan).

  • hey I was just wondering if ryujin was in that book? and the phoenix?

  • @MrFeatherr No, neither of those models are diagrammed in that book.

  • I see well I'm wanting to buy the book so could you please quickly tell me in a private message which models are covered?

Oh and also I followed the eastern dragon you folded by joseph wu thanks for the tutorial.

  • did you finish the dragon in that book? if you did plz upload make the ancient dragon plz thanks.

  • Yes, I folded the dragon. Will I be making a video on it? No, sorry. I couldn't secure permission from Kamiya-san, and also, it would take way too long. Sorry.

  • i really wana buy the book i followed your description but dont really understand the prices if am buying from UK how much will it be?

  • Well, you can always google "xx usd in gbp" or "xx yen in gbp" or "xx eur in gbp" - depending on what the starting currency is. [And yes, this will usually give you a different result every day. There is no fixed rate for currencies.]

  • plz could u make a video showing how to do steps 64 to 67 of the ancient dragon? im having some trouble with the steps

  • @OrigamiBoy66 Sorry, I will not be posting any instructional videos on any of Satoshi Kamiya's designs. This is Satoshi Kamiya's wish, and I respect it.

  • @AdamsSara its ok thanks

  • Ah yeah, this is one of my favorite books! Definitely worth the effort of obtaining it!

  • I've been looking to buy this book for a long time now but I have not been able to find one anywhere. can you let me know where I can get a copy

  • Actually, it's as easy as looking into the video description. There's a link to origamihouse(dot)jp, or try origami-shop(dot)com - both sites sell the book and ship internationally. I think origamihouse(dot)jp sell the book for a bit less, they're the publishers. origami-shop(dot)com are in France, and they sell lots of great paper.

  • how much did u buy the book for?

  • is the phoenix in this book?

  • No, it's not. Maybe his next book will feature it.

  • i got this and i payed 70 bucks for it

  • oh ok thanks

  • it in Chinese or japan i don't get it where is the buy button i don't get Chinese or japan??? HELP ME!!!!!

  • It's in Japanese *and* English.

  • so around how much will it be if you live in Austrlia? I'm addicted to origami!!

  • cool this vid was posted on my birthday

  • whats the most you paid for an origami book??

  • The most expensive origami book I own is probably Origami Design Secrets by Robert Lang - and it's worth every penny.

  • Do you know any ways to buy it? Because I can't find any copies.

  • It's available at origami-shop(dot)com

  • and on piratebay...hehehe

  • can you please teach me how to make it

  • IS HARD, I WANNA RIP MY BOOK IN HALF!!!

    Lol, just kidding.

  • another question how much money did you buy it for?

  • I was lucky in that I met someone who had a spare copy directly from Japan. So I paid about 25 pounds or so for it, and it's signed by Kamiya-san.

  • um the website to order it from is in japanese.... and i dont speak japanese...

  • Try origami-shop(dot)com

  • I so freakin' want that book! How much is it in the UK?

  • You can get it at origami-shop(dot)com for 60 EUR.

  • well of course it takes along time....it'll brobably take twice time to even make it to a video...

maybe you should try to fold somethingless complex it worked for me when i gave up on the ancient dragon twice.....

  • when you do have alot of time i really need a tutorial on how to make the ancient dragon so if you do have time theres something you can decide on what to do

(if you cant make a tutorial please tell me)

  • I can already tell you now that I'll never make a tutorial on the Ancient Dragon by Satoshi Kamiya. It's a super-complex model that needs many hours of folding to complete, let alone explain. Sorry!

  • can u put a video on how to make the chokobo

  • Well it's a great book !! i Have finally finished my first ancient dragon..it's awesome!!!Maybe i'll make a vid on it

  • omg how do you fold that neat?!?!?

  • explica como hacerlo por favor

  • um i wanna get the book but i dont know weather its in english... plz reply and tell me if its japanese or english ... thanks...

  • It's in Japanese AND English - so every text in the book is in there twice.

  • omg were do you order the book please reply!!! im working on the ancient dragon it is so amazing!! sooo uh please reply!

    Thank You.

  • Check the video description, there's a link to a website there.

  • lucky you got your book signed. i wish i got mine signed XP. well at least i have a copy of that book :)

  • how did you get the neck so long?

    please tell me=D

  • haha ive checked all the coments so far and almost every guy asks about the dragons. I would really like to see someone making a tutorial video on one of them...still it would be a lot of work. I tried folding the ancient dragon but i got stuck at 45 because i was using a newspaper ( could find a 50x50 cm paper) and i couldnt tell what creases i made

  • lucky ass in a good way! =)

  • stop saying put a walkthrough!

if its to complex, then its ok

  • Hi Saracan you put a hard origami like the ancient dragon, or other things? thanks ... can you question to kamiya or hojyo takashi's icarus etc...

  • I fear the models you suggest are to complex to make instructional videos for them. After all, they need hours and hours to complete - and that's when you master them.

  • speaking of the complex modles im just starting on the dragon but im kinda waiting until you make the vidoe

  • I will *not* make a video on any of Kamiya-san's dragons. They are simply too complex.

  • can u teach the divine dragon

  • teach a dragon

  • hey i have alrady make the wizard :) is really gread ::) :)

  • i love this book i am currently working on learning the wizard it is hard but thankfully have giant paper to help make the folding easier somewhat.

  • wer do u get that book?!?!

    i really want it...

  • can you put diagrams for the chocobo

  • where do you get the book?

  • Please check the video description for a link that tells you where you can buy the book.

  • I'm sorry, but I also have another question. What's the type of paper that Kamiya Satoshi uses when he folds big figures like dragons?

  • I think Kamiya-san is very fond of Origamido paper. He also treats his paper, possibly with methyl cellulose or something of the sort.

  • Once again, thank you very much.

  • Where do you get the paper to fold that bird? I made mine out of printer paper.... but it turned out horrible in quality. May I ask where you found your paper?

  • I used my standard cheap origami paper. 65gsm, 15cm square. It's produced by Muji.

  • Thank you very much.

  • Hi Sara, I have that book 1 year ago and the only model i could do was chocobo :( the other models are really cool but difficult.

will you please make videos of those models?

  • I probably won't do videos on Kamiyasan's models. However, there's a couple other relatively easy models in the book. The Splash! (Swan) is probably easier than the Chocobo, actually.

  • i got the book today =)

  • please! please! please! make a video(or videos)on the chocobo i've been dieing to learn it and i'm Satoshi KAMIYA'S BIGGEST FAN!

  • i WANT that book as well!!!!!!!! but they dont sell that in my country!!!! do any of u guys know where i can find diagrams of satoshi kamiya's origami works? i WANT them badly!!!!!! >_> thnks!!!

oh and the chocobo was great! good job!

  • i want this book to!

  • man I totally want this book :3

  • Go to Othe Origami USA website, they sell it there for $5. It's totally worth it, I've folded every model out of that book... my fingers are swollen and discolored lol

  • whoops... That's $50, not $5.

  • yea I think I will get it for my birthday or something XD

  • if the first yellow bird i´ve folded was alive, he surely would asked me to kill him, =p

  • hey can someone help me i am stuck on step 24-25 please help me guys

  • Hi :)

    I need a favour

    i'm confuse with 29 - 31 step

    you can help me ?

    Thx

  • COOL :D

  • Hello!can you do me a favour?Well...Here,in Argentina,my country, isn't the "Kamiya's book",Can you,or someone, post videos of "How to do origamis of Kamiya"?Please!I love the phoenix and if you do this step for step I'm going to be pleased!I know that it's so dificult and long but it's my only way of I can learn the best origammi of the world!Thank you...I searched in all place and I can't found anything...

Note:I don't talk very well english, sory if I wrote wrong...

    BlackWitchYuuko...

  • Sorry, there won't be videos on Kamiya's designs, at least not the more complex ones. They take hours to fold - without directions. The phoenix actually isn't diagrammed in the book, and as far as I know it took Kamiya 10 hours to fold it. Just to give you a sense of how much time it takes even an expert to finish his designs.

  • could you post the chocobo?

  • I haven't contacted Satoshi Kamiya thus far on permission. Probably because I'm really not sure I want to do videos on his designs. Most of the designs in the book need a lot of precreasing, and I'm not sure that's very suitable for videos. Will have to think about it, and then possibly contact Satoshi. And I'm not sure whether he'd be ok with it...

So the answer is: not sure if ever, definitely not soon. Sorry.

  • Can you help me on step 29 through 31? I got confused. thank you!

  • See private message.

  • pllllllz can you get permisson for chocobo

  • Could you help us with some address or webpage where I could buy his book? thanks...

  • Go to happyfolding(dot)com/gallery-kamiya-pegasus and follow the links posted under "Diagrams". Posting links here is pretty hard, because of the YouTube restrictions...

  • how much did you buy the book for? i'm thinking about buying the book :)

  • Good question. To be honest with you, I don't know how much I bought it for in the end. I could check, but not until I'm back in Oxford.

  • Yay! I got that book 2! it's on Japanese though...... How do you learn how to read Crease patterns?

  • The book has both Japanese and English instructions. I haven't really started with folding from crease patterns yet.

  • oh ok.... since I saw a model in the same book as chocobo, called orang-utan, and you have to start with a base or something, but I cant understand how do fold that base from a crease pattern. Don't know how to start...

  • Hi Sara. can you please please show us how to make one of the dragons. either the ancient dragon of the divine dragon. i can't find that book and i would really like to make one of those.

thanks for all the videos so far ☺

  • Ah, I fear I won't do videos on these dragons. I still have to look into asking Satoshi Kamiya for permission on showing some of his designs, but think that in any case his dragons are simply too complex to make a video on.

  • could you plz show us how to make the bird. i really want to learn how to make this

  • omfg why did u have to rub it in my face! I wanted that so much... lol

  • can you teach us chocobo

  • hey sara!!!

your videos are so great and

would you mind folding some other models from this book?

    maybe the ancient dragon...???

or the bahamut or any other model???

    this would be so great!!!

thanks for all your vids you did so far!

  • so thats were you learnt the chocbo what other models does it teach?????????? p.s love the vids kepp them coming your by far the best:) thanks sooo much

  • Check w w w(dot)origamihouse(dot)jp/book/original/kamiya/kamiya.html for an overview over all models included in the book, including pictures of finished models.

  • hi sara :)

  • Hey there, I think your video on the chocobo brought my attention to Kamiya's work!

  • i thought that might be the case :p your videos are really great. keep up the awesome work and happy folding!

  • does the book show you how to do the different flods

  • Yes, the book includes diagrams. It also has a short section that describes the most basic folds.

  • do you know lang's knl dragon? or the rabbit from origami zoo?

  • Not sure about the "knl dragon", but I've got Origami Zoo, and I think I've folded the rabbit from that one.

  • thanks

  • do u no any good websites with models like in the book

  • I think it's hard to find websites that have diagrams for models of Kamiya's complexity. Try happyfolding(dot)com/links for some orientation.

  • Where do you have his sign?

  • I'm not quite sure what you're asking. I'll take a lucky guess:

Where did I get a signed copy from?

Mark Bolitho sold me this copy. He bought spare copies in Japan, and Satoshi signed them for him back in Japan.

  • hi i have posted on ur videos but i was wondering if u had the time if u could scan and send me a coupple of the works from the book like the Ancient dragon, Wizard, Bahamut (Divine Dragon), Kirin, and the Chocobo. i would really enjoy doing them (if cant send all, 1 or 2 would be nice) thanks.

  • Hi there, sorry I won't send copies of books. That's against the copyright law.

  • Pity that you won't be posting videos as much. I like watching them a lot, even though sometime they go a bit fast and I have to watch them over and over, but looking at and listening to you is never a punishment, and it has helped folding models I could not find the diagram for. Cheers

  • how long did it take to fold the chocobo it seems like 30 min.

  • That sounds reasonable. I didn't time it, though.

  • Please it could publish a new video of the scorpion of Lang, especially the I number three since for the paper type it becomes very confused.

  • Hi, i was wondering what site you bought the book on because I tried looking for it and it's not easy to find. Thank you very much for this kind of information.

  • ahhh actually the site I found it in you have to get it through the post office straight from Japan...you can go on satoshi kamiya's site to find a link to it...google even translates it for you! :D

  • You can get the book at origamihouse(dot)jp.

  • oh and one more thing...if it's not too difficult can you scan us one page of a random diagram so that I can see what the models on the inside looks like? I have learned from my experience that bad diagrams can be very confusing T.T

  • The diagrams are very clear. I might start doing reviews of books, where I would probably show one page to give examples. You might find that in less complex books more diagrams are used for the folds needed, though. Given that you should have some experience before attempting Kamiya's models, that shouldn't be a problem, though.

  • That would be great! I think that your advise on which books are easily available and abundantly helpful will help many striving folders! :D I was thinking about getting Robert Lang's Origami Design Secrets: Mathematical Methods for an Ancient Art, seeing as how so many people are raving about it!... Maybe it can help me improve my folding? Your focus should be on suggesting books that can help turn intermediate folders to advance folders since I believe that is the hardest transition :D

  • Yes, thank you for your advice! I still don't have the time to buy it now since school just started for me but I would definitly consider getting it sooner or later! So for now what models do you suggest I could do to advance my origami folding process? haha oh and I'm definitly scared of the Ancient Dragon...it would be one of my life's goals to fold it just like solving the rubix cube, which I did! :D

  • Hi I have been folding simple origami all my life and I can do the kawasaki rose amongst others, so I just wanted to know if the models in the book are as difficult as it seems...are the diagrams specific enough for me to fold them? I was planning on getting the book internationally for $52 straight from japan, but I didn't want to get the book if I wouldn't be able to fold anything in it haha

  • There's 19 models diagrammed in the book. The instructions themselves are clear, but the models are still hard to fold. I rate them from high intermediate intermediate to complex. To give you an impression - I rate the standard Kawasaki rose as a low intermediate model. Yesterday I started the ancient dragon, I've folded over 3.5 hours on that and am not even half done. Scared now? ;)
