30 years ago this country was alot safer than it is now& we had as much choice of firearms,as a person living in the state of Texas.The fact is that gun crime was non-existant over here,with the exception of armed-robberies committed with sawed-off shotguns& a few pistols.Sawed-offs were a popular choice for a 60s&70s villian.They never used smgs and then,there were no bans forcasted then.

Bans on guns won't elimnate crime. They wont stop sales on the black market. AR-15's are one example of the guns that have been targeted by bans in the past, and so little of gun crimes are committed using them. Politicians also want to ban ammo that is commonly used for hunting. Like someone is going to go rob a bank with a bolt action or single shot hunting rifle. It makes no sense and neither do any of these bans. Bans will cripple the whole gun industry, which will destroy people's jobs.

I am English and I was an avid pistol and rifle shooter before the ban. I can now longer shoot but the criminals can. All the ban did was to take away the rights of decent people to shoot guns, criminals are unfettered by the law.

Actually hunting for 'sport' should be banned... I don't give a shit about 'traditions' of killing, except executing those humans that rape nations and people. Killing for sport is killing not sport. Fearon was attempting to burgle Martin, but the FACT is that he was shot as he was trying to flee. There simply is no case for Fearon posing a physical threat to Martin at the time he was shot. Burgalry and trespass do not warrant arbitrary execution of the offender.

Studies indicate guns are used over 2 million times a year for personal protection in the U.S. But we have 300 million people over here. Just the presence of a gun without firing a shot often prevents a crime. If you will look at some of the videos posted on this same site you will see the UK has some of the worst knife violence in the world. Without a gun you stand no chance against a knife. I have to add though that I dont support fox hunting, it is a barbaric bloodsport. The ban hasnt effected it to much though. Hunting of deer for meat is fine aslong as you are a good clean killing hunter, but setting a pack of dogs to rip apart a fox is unnecesary and cruel. Let alone the sick things that are done to baby foxes when found.

This is just the tip of the ice berg guys. Really the amout of shit British people have to put up with is obscene. Two gypos (or a more PC word travellers) broke into this old guys house and could of killed him, his wife, his dog etc he defend himself and ends up in prison for a long time and a good chance at gettin sued. In this country once a law has passed it is very unlikely it will be reversed.

Bans on guns won't elimnate crime. They wont stop sales on the black market. AR-15's are one example of the guns that have been targeted by bans in the past, and so little of gun crimes are committed using them. Politicians also want to ban ammo that is commonly used for hunting. Like someone is going to go rob a bank with a bolt action or single shot hunting rifle. It makes no sense and neither do any of these bans. Bans will cripple the whole gun industry, which will destroy people's jobs.

We have the same problem in Canada. We are not legally justified to defend ourselves with firearms in our own home. For now we at least have the privilege of owning handguns for the purpose of target shooting but politicians in the opposition are trying to have that taken away. God forbid they take power in the next election.

The British gave up their right to keep and bear arms in 1923 when the first law restricting the private ownership of firearms was instituted. It was all downhill from there. Can't happen in the U.S.? It can and it will unless we ban togeather to keep it from happening. Like it or hate it, the NRA is the only organization out there doing an effective job of supporting the rights of gun owners. Long live the NRA

Exactly Tahosa65.! And my dad grew up with Guns in pre-WW2 America. Our boys knew how to shoot before Boot Camp. The English were way behind in shooting skills and access to weapons. We saved them from invasion with our presence and our guns. My father taught me gun skills and respect; I have taught my children (all 5) gun skills and respect. We are all NRA members these days. I have a small sign near my front porch: I DON'T CALL 9-1-1....In the America I know and love, we have rights!

I want to thank the Brits for losing their guns in a manner as to make a very fitting example of what can happen in the USA. I didn't mean for that to be offensive, so don't take it that way. If you can fight to get them back, you definitely deserve to have guns back.

If this future comes to pass, then I will keep a handgun or shotgun illegally. If anyone invades MY home, they are DEAD. I will make SURE they are DEAD so that they cannot sue me or provide witness. I am English and I was an avid pistol and rifle shooter before the ban. I can now longer shoot but the criminals can. All the ban did was to take away the rights of decent people to shoot guns, criminals are unfettered by the law.

Actually hunting for 'sport' should be banned... I don't give a shit about 'traditions' of killing, except executing those humans that rape nations and people. Killing for sport is killing not sport. If you don't hang the body on your wall and eat all the meat and use all the pieces of life you stole, then that is different.
