Depends on what you mean by "going against your family" mate. Don't forget that the 'greatest' commandment that Jesus gave us was to Love one another.

As for going solo in your walk of faith, Christ talks about that explaining how a Christian doing that is like an ember in a fire. (Anyone remember where this is talked about?) If you put it in the fire (with other christians and believers) it burns bright and hot, you take it out and it grows cold and eventually smoulders out.

DarkTatsuo: I lived your life and thought it was great. I was lead singer in a really good band, but I saw my friends being arrested and dieing of drug overdoses etc. I realized if I didn't change my ways I would die as well.

Also I have read the Bible a number of times & never found a contradiction. Further. God is perfect and anything God does can not be held to our standard. God sent His own son to die for you. Giving you oppertunity to be saved. Your refusal is what sends you to Hell!
