No offence meant, launching into space is a great achievement; this is a send up of the official video, which for some reason is obsessed with showing a Transit van with an aerial on top.

yes, it is a great achievement. That's why making fun of it doesn't change the fact that it was successfully designed and launched. but i'm a little confused about your reply, are you saying showing a washing machine as the actual satellite was part of the official video? you don't really mean that do you cuz that will just kill the joke

Its just a gag thats all. It may look like a washing machine but that does not take away the fact that Iran has successfully launched a satellite that has worked; which is more than I can say about my country, our rockets never got more than 4mtrs off the launch pad, and our Mars lander was a failure.
