  • Shitting hell that landing was scary even for me just watching it :P haha. <3 ANZ though!

  • Was the plane used a 777-200 or 300?

  • @johneddy98033

It was a 777-200. Air NZ hadn't received their new 300's yet.

  • @Halvomeister how long is the flight time?

  • @airbus320dfw

     Approx 4.5 hrs from AKL

  • @airbus320dfw

    Approx 4.5 hrs from AKL

  • @airbus320dfw Apporx 4.5 hrs from AKL

  • Respond to this video... Approx 4.5 hrs from AKL

  • Great video trip report and nice soundtrack too! Love the Cooks!

  • the only thing that is stopping me from wanting to go to new zealand.. is the long travel time over the ocean

  • 53 seconds to pull out of the ground? Heavy, right?

BTW it's a great view from there.

  • @FabioAzul777 Yes, probably quite a bit of cargo on board I suspect, plus hot and humid conditions don't help!

  • By the way, thank goodness ANZ went with the Boeing 777 and not an A330 AirBUST...I especially like the new 773's with the "couch" seating option (soon to come on all ANZ 777's).

  • @onecunningfox I have flown on Air New Zealand 777 and a Qantas A330. I found them both equally nice, but do you not like te A330 for some reason?

  • @Skuksy

Thats right - and neither does Air "Ennn Zed".

  • @onecunningfox

but the A330 has less seats abreast apposed to the B777

  • @rustydevilll Thats right. Why do you want a narrow long haul? The 777 is 9 abreast (although Emirates squeezes in 10 abreast). So what's your point?

ANZ is a long haul carrier. NZ is at the bottom of the world; so they need the best and most efficient to meet their needs so they can get to far away places. AirBUST does not cut it. The A330 too small. The A380, too big. Boeing has the right combination with the 777 and 787. As for teh 747-8, I am undecided; but she will great.

  • @onecunningfox

    I already know that.....

I live in new zealand and work for the airline lol......

  • @onecunningfox

True on all points my good man! And yes the 748 will impress and be the plane to have. Her 1million pound take off was VERY impressive. You know the Antonov 225 lifts 1.3 million pounds - so thge 748 doing 1 million is most impressive. The A380 for all of its massiveness (not as much as the Ant 225) does 1.25 million. Look at the "cost" and efficiency differentials and the 748 is a winner. This is not to mention the A380 for many reasons will never lift cargo/freight.

  • It is nice to see a taste of home! Good video. It's tough holding a camera that long and that steady for 10 minutes....I have done a few myself. Good ole Errr New Zuuland...thanks for posting.

(ANZ must run that Rarotonga, then back to AKL, then onto YVR or LAX)

  • Trents!

  • Thank you very much! Wonderfully done. I remember taking ANZ from Auckland to Wellington back in 1991. The flight was so nice. Hurray to ANZ from The Philippines. (Sept. 24, 2010)

  • Nicely done. I enjoyed this very much. Thank you.

  • Very nice, can i ask how long the flight takes?

  • Thanks. The flight is three hours and fifty five minutes. I could have happily gone another 15 hours!

  • thanks for the vid.Wow i remember flying in on an ANZ DC 10,747 200 and the airport was little more then a shed.
