Butzi designed the 904. Arguably more beautiful than Komenda's designs. However, no one on earth has designed more recognizable automobile forms than Komenda.

These kind of configuration, which 911´s use, is said to be impractical because of the weight distribution, but Porsche has proved they can build rear engined cars that easily beat mid-engined cars, which is said to be the best engine configuration.

Very well said. Porsche makes sence. It has "Super Car" performance, from a car that is very easily understandable to your week-end mechanic. I am very biased, but I think my '88 930 is the best looking car ever made! Enzo who? It's a car that you can take to the supermarket, go through Mcdonalds drive-thu, then take to the track and blow away most stock cars, then drive back home. Everything still works, and the engine will purr like a kitten. Porsche is just an amazing car!

Ahh! I remember when the 996 were still being sold we were buying a Cayenne, and the Porsche garage gave me 2 of those 996 posters I still have one framed on my wall many years on! Happy memories!

@scratchy996, Unfortunately for me I have niether the time, money or inclination to be test driving new Porsche's but if I did, I wouldn't be interested in the Panamera I assure you.
Porsche have always been about performance, performance without compramise. If you have enough money to buy a new Porsche you buy one and drive an Audi S4 or a BMW 5 series for the family runs. This is not what Porsche is about at all.

actually it is , Ferdinand himself wanted a 4 door car but he didn't get to see his dream. now they finally made one and it's the best 4 door car on the market. it's not the average family car , it's the Porsche of the sedans, just like the Cayenne is the Porsche of SUVs. Porsche is about engineering and performance, no matter what form it has. they used to build tractors and tanks and designed military armored vehicles until the late '70s.

you dont know jack about Porsche. they almost went bankrupt a few times, and they built an suv when they were booming to make money, to put it into their sports.what you think R&D is free make fun of those cars all you want. but the Cayenne was not built overnight. it had a 2 speed transfer case, for serious off roading, hummer H1 capibilities, air suspension which is so sophisticated I dont even have enough room to explain. dont feel bad I get the feeling you are a poser who like ferries

The 911frogmobile is more a triumph of tradition & marketing over an intrinsically poor design. There's a good reason why whenever Porsche had enough money for a CLEANSHEET design project, they never said, "Hey, let's make another rear-engined car inspired by the Beetle!" Thankfullly Porsche has made brilliant cars; midengined and front-engined- but they never remain in production as long because the status-seeking sheep know that "911" sounds more recognisable and thus brings more admiration.

It was a beautiful sports car, but only if people at that time actually recognize the 928 as a beautiful sports car, Porsche would still be building it until now.

Very well said. Porsche makes sence. It has "Super Car" performance, from a car that is very easily understandable to your week-end mechanic. I am very biased, but I think my '88 930 is the best looking car ever made! Enzo who? It's a car that you can take to the supermarket, go through Mcdonalds drive-thu, then take to the track and blow away most stock cars, then drive back home. Everything still works, and the engine will purr like a kitten. Porsche is just an amazing car!

@raidermike72 That is a beautiful car. My dad had his for 15 years and was gutted when he sold it for the car in the above video. He hated the 996 so much that he junked it the moment the 997 came out which was a vastly superior car.
I on the other hand didnt like the 930. I think its because the only thing i remember from it was sitting in the back in 40 degree weather and vomiting over his leather seats lol. Wasnt the most comfortable experience.
