The reason why New York out weighs better rappers from other states is because ny is unique compared to other states, it has different cultures, an edge to it, its diversity, and therefore growing up here people are influenced differently leading to different styles. And leading to rappers Rappers delight one of the starters of Hip hop. And others like Biggie, AZ,Nas, Jay-Z, Big-L,Big Pun etc..

Nas is one of my favorite MCs, Big L was an amazing rapper with a crazy flow & I like some of Biggie's work. I like some of the Wu Tang Clan's stuff so far. I listened to some Immortal Technique and didn't really get what the hype was about. Mobb Deep is OK.

Man, I remember browsing through the hip-hop section and I would see this dude's album covers and at the time I had no idea who he was but I was thinking in my head how cheap his covers looked and I would never give the time of day to bother listening to him but boy am I glad I finally decided to.
