Thanks for the feedback! What I do is record direct from my mixer line-in to my laptop. I use a cheap webcam to record teh video, but it also lets you record the audio from line in at the same time..

You get a 4 or 2 track analog tape mixer very cheap on ebay. Search for TASCAM PORTA on ebay. It can be used as a mixer and as a recorder. Then all you need is a pair of mics and a cable to plug the mixer into your laptop line in.

Right on. So if I had an acoustic pick-up for my guitar (would use to run to an amp) I could just run it to the mixer instead? I already have a mic for my vocals.

I will have to investigate the mixer on e-bay. It may be a while, though, my friend! I have kids and a house, and money for music items kind of comes last! :-)

Sure you can plug the guitar mic directly into the mixer. They usually have a seperate record level for guitar.

I haven't heard the songs your picking forever, but each one has been a pleasant surprise and your voice and strumming are so pure and relaxing.. There is a technique taught to learn how to do this smoothly. I don't know that I am qualified to teach this!

Just basically though, all I am doing is holding the chords and picking out a specific pattern. I could strum this just following the cheat sheet I downloaded from the internet! However, sometimes strumming sounds bland and picking gives a nice background for my voice!

Uh, sort of.... I use this picking pattern all the time, I'm so used to it I just remember where I'm going after I practice the song a few (sometimes MANY!) times.
