  • But then again I'd just knee him

  • For those who say his head is in the wrong spot. His head is inside because if it's on the outside he'd be guillotined easily dummies.I've watched this vid nd use the technique on real good fighters it works no1 keeps perfect form in a real fight or mma there are always flaws.

  • What happens if your opponent does a bull rush takedown, what can I do? Please, don't say "get out of the way" because there are times when that is impossible and would be more helpful another advice.

  • I'm not trying to troll but I could see this working on jiu-jitsu and ,maybe, though I know NOHING about them, Judo) guys- but I don't know about a good wrestler- maybe if he gets lazy. But if hes good he'l make sure to destroy your'e positioning before he hits a double. I do think this is a neat throw though and with how little wrestling goes down in fighting/jitz tournaments in my area I could see this really working for me. I think I'm going to train it tommarow.

  • @COLLINDEFELEUR Yeah, this wouldn't be nearly as efficient if the kid cut the corner further and had his head to the outside like you are supposed to. Also if his stance wasn't so hunched over - his back is so bent, this would deff work if the guy keeps such poor form, but on someone who trains in details....your gonna be crancking a tree out of the ground....on a new note - his but's really high too...

  • @Ethan10510 I put my head at their hips. Im not too good with the double leg (i usually do a scissor takedown or kinda like a flying guillotine takedown but i dont like finishing with a guillotine cuz its kinda cheap and easy to do) so i have a question. When i go for the double leg, usually i'd bend my knees and try to lift them up and slam but is it better to just hold their legs and push in? Cuz you control their legs and once you push them they cant rebalance.

  • Every time i try the double leg the dude will get me in a guillotine and ill end up in his gaurd with a guillotine on me. Need help

  • @scottyiscute Can't say for sure without seeing what you're doing, but it sounds like bad posture. If you lead with your head on a double leg, you'll be guillotined. Keep your head up as you shoot in. Remember head up, elbows in, butt down. Also, don't shoot with lifting and slamming in mind - if that opportunity presents itself, take it - but shoot with the intent to go for the takedown.

  • @EricStetson Can you send me or tell me a good video on how to do a proper double leg takedown? I'm 14, around 56 kg and 5ft 8. I'm not the strongest guy on Earth but slightly above average. I put my head on the hips or around the waist area and i try to pick the person off their feet. Not really to slam but kinda mix of slam and takedown. Also i cant picture what you mean when you say 'keep your head up as you shoot in'. How does that work? Thx.

  • @scottyiscute Check out 'kolat.com' here on youtube. Also granby's school of wrestling at the "wrestling mall" also on youtube has some super-neat stuff. I mean, you'll have to do your own browsing and find what you like, but I can say there's something for everyone at them places. I hope that helps.

  • The guy in the black reminds of of Fedor Emelianenko

  • The guy shooting is not doing a double leg correctly. His head is on the inside and he is stepping to the outside. This is more like defending a football tackle.

  • Wizzer uchi mata!

  • can you also show us how to do it when somebody shoots a real double? i'd be interested in watching that

  • that in the first place is only done on a terrible wrestler and most wrestler dont do doubles with their head there. its usually behind the back or at that angle straight in rib mean front of forehead.

  • is taiotoshi and uchimata, Judo throws

  • Damn that was an awful shot lol

  • I wanted to say first never always go off thinking since somone is a great world champ or something can teach. I feel there is some that really are amazing and can but there is alot that cant teach little kids, cant teach people with issues, cant really break down the ideas and positions. My thinking on this is find someone that has been the coach of amazing wrestling and such then train with him.

  • Impressive

  • Can I ask. It appears (I have no expertese here) that the shooter is stepping outside as though shooting a single. What is the deal if he steps with his penetrating leg BETWEEN your legs as driving through Barsaggar style?

  • @massivojohnson Watch the demonstration in the beginning of the video. His foot goes to the inside of the leg. Seems to me that this throw can work either way.

  • @MrGarky : Awww yeah. Thanks MrGarky. I guess it works as a toss or as a bastardised Uchi-mata. Exactly like when you defend a single leg using an overhook. Thanks.

  • Nice pointers... im definitely going to try this... :)

  • yea it helps your like 150 lbs heavier than your training partner

  • @xxxmattk they should bring in brock lesnar for this guy to demo wrestling techniques, serious

  • @GracieHK brock lesnar is a beast at wrestling. i heard he had a wrestling record of over a 100 wins and a few losses

  • @kimimarokekegenkai brock was okay but not the best his buddy kurt can whip his butt in wrestling. the olympic team guy are alot better mo lawal or king mo would beat brock in wrestling.

  • Love that one

  • that was a terrible shot. he didn't change levels, he just bent over hahaha.

  • @timabad think it's just fir the sake of demonstration. :P but have u seen the shots in mma? nothing like shots in wrestling

  • @smurfkillerX You invairably dont shoot so low n MMA for 2 reasons (1) If he sprawls you are puss first ingo the ground and its a hard drive vs a potential Tahi CLinch as you raise out of the failed shot. (2) Invairable a blocked shot is followed by a guiloutine. So as soon as the head is low you can be choked. Even if you finish the shot it can be a problem if he is willing to go down with guard.

  • I like it. New version of uchi mata. Thanks for posting.

  • It's the same principle as Uchi Mata in Judo. :)

  • this is one of my favorite channels. thank you so much for your work

  • He executes two different things. What he does in the beginning is different from what he does when breaking it down. They both still work though.

  • I prefer the Judo Uchi Mata.

  • @chavamma hahaha i was like "isnt that just a bad uchi mata"

  • @vidjunkiej yea its pretty much just a jacked uchi mata lol

  • no offence, but I dont see that working on a medium-high calibur wrestler.

  • @k3nd4lll your right it maybe wouldnt.no high calibur wrestler is gonna shoot on you like that and they will shoot way fast.

  • @jas108 I think you guys are all missing the point here. First, Ari Taub is an Olympic level wrestler who showing how to apply this move in a wrestling, jiu jitsu, grappling or mma perspective. This video is not wrestling for wrestling but giving everyone a different perspective to ADD to their game.

  • @Submissions101 I know Ari is an olympic calibur wrestler...i'm not saying the move wont work at all,but all i'm saying is that the move wont have a high success against guys that are high calibur wrestlers.I wrestled back in high school and I'm currently doing mma now and i know from experience...its hard to stop a high lvl wrestlers takedown. Its a great move to add to your game though cuz being versitile can only make you better.the series with Ari has been showing some nice techniques.

  • @jas108 ya, plus wrestlers understand leverage like no other. The best double leg defence is simple, sprawl, but having fast enough reaction to sprawl is easier said than done. My advice is sprawl as much as possible while keeping good pressure with a whizzer.

  • @k3nd4lll yea thats the approach i would take as well.just try to sprawl as much as you can and body down on them, with good pressure on the whizzer.this move is sort of a sacrifice throw also cuz if the guy keeps good leverage and you commit to the throw,he can get you down and get a good position like side control or even take your back.its a cool move though...like the uchi mata.

  • love the wrestling videos the best

  • pretty sick, I'll try it out tonight

  • i think it also helps to have a big midsection like this guy has

  • haha i was just gonna knee them in the face if they tried to tackle me

  • @TrueDominguez going on one leg to defend the takedown...? or you could sprawl and then knee

  • Looks similar to uchi mata in judo.

  • How many more wrestling for MMA videos do you plan on making?

  • @rangedat there is about a dozen in this series!

  • @Submissions101 more! :p

  • @Submissions101 hey, any chance youd be able to put together a dvd for the wrestling? and maybe the frank mir part, or is there anyway i can dowload thesE?

  • @rangedat i hope a LOT!

  • cool vid

  • Turn from the hips. This is a key component in Judo and Aikido throws

  • @dobberdoss and wrestling ;-)

  • @Submissions101 ,

    Yes, that too ;-)

  • @Submissions101 and jujitsu.... hahaha looked like an uchi mata but with a wizzer

  • @Submissions101 and almost all biomechanically efficient full-body movements :)

  • @dobberdoss I'd actually say that hip motion is important in all combative/martial arts techniques.

  • This is the first video in a series :WRESTLING for MMA. It will have tips and tricks for jiu jitsu fighters as well.
