  • This is a joke, right?

  • I honestly don't see how he is being a racist... can somebody help me out... it even seemed like he complimented both show style and core style bands...

  • Sinbad did that exact same bit at Moorhouse College back in the late 80s.

    It's on youtube too.

  • What we have here, is a reverance of ones own culture.

This is why Multi-Culturalism is a doomed concept.

Mono-Culturalism [like-minded/ similar standards, beliefs & appearances], on the other hand, is proven to be far more favorable for peaceful interaction in humans.

  • Sickemdudley01,

Burlesque bodily movements and violent beatings have been around for thousands of years.

    It is nothing new.

What is new, is that it is being brought out of the shadows and back alleys, and shoved into our faces at every turn.

Surely you are not suggesting that a black marching band is incapable of coming up with a choreography that is more uplifting and inspirational than what is being shown here.

  • If that were that case, the "100" would be severly downgrading to the level of other bands by putting their horns down on the ground doing extremely old and corny moves from the 20s and 30s that wouldn't be "offensive," but sure as hell would be boring and uninspiring. If haven't done so already, check out the dance routine again under Florida Classic 2004 for it to make sense and if that doesn't work, either write a cease and desist letter to the university or just ignore it altogether.

  • Just when I thought the people of the world can't get any more ignorant, I turn on Youtube and here we go again. I'm not saying Michigan's program isn't great in all aspects but FAMU's no pushover institution, either. And all the racism you put on here, keep it up, fellas. It'll get you nowhere. Michigan isn't going anywhere, NEITHER IS FAMU. BTW, go back into the 70's and 80's and look at some of the scores FAMU put on D1 Teams. Once again, don't over look ANY HBCU. They're as good as anyone!!

  • The crotch-thrusting and faux-beatings are a nice cultural touch.

That sets a real nice example for the children in the audience.

    Yeeesh.

  • If your referring to the dance routine, it's common in all HBCU bands and there're some mostly White college bands who do the same like Southern Cal, Ohio, South Carolina, Clemson, and Florida.....but nowhere as near successful and entertaining.

In fact, most dance routines are comprised of music videos and the latest dance craze, so the children who you think are being negatively influenced have mostly likely danced like that themselves or already have before seen the band done it.

  • Nothing you have said justifies the crudeness and coarseness of injecting sexually oriented movements and simulated beatings into a marching band choreography.

  • But chances are, you can see the exact same moments or worse on mainstream shows like Dancing With The Stars, America's Best Dance Crew, So You Think You Can Dance, and America's Got Talent. Or how about as the times change, so do the influences and choreography and the band has way too much innovation and history flowing through them to end the show so stiff and rigid marching off the field in a raa-raa-sis-boom-bah manner like so many other college bands and that's what makes the "100" unique.

  • It would do the naysayers a lot of good if they actually did research on Florida A&M University and realize that we do have much more to offer to society and the world as a whole than the Marching "100" with such feats as awarding more baccalaureate degrees to African-Americans than any institutions in the nation and producing over a third of the nation's pharmacists just to name a few.

  • You'd also be more impressed with the band's actual euphonious sound and performances than just simply being amused by adding tribal sounds to footage, but hey, you have over 560 clips of the "100" just typing "famu marching 100" to judge for yourself.

  • Florida A-M just gives these monkeys degrees so they can fill up spots thanks to affirmative action. Keep making your nigger noise and crying. I'd love to see test results of niggers at Florida A-M compared to the test results of a real school. Any monkey with dark skin and an ID can get into Florida am.

  • Sorry, race baiting won't work here and for the record, it's A&M. Have no idea why anyone would put a hyphen in the school's name and if you really have that much resentment towards the university, head on down to the main campus in Tallahassee for they're always open to hear your rhetoric.

  • First of all, you need to do some research about the school of which you speak. Test results of what you call niggers from FAMU are alot higher then the majority of your prodominantly white institutes. FAMU produces more than a third of the nation's pharmacists. As far as monkeys, who built the place you're staying in...who built D.C....who built this damn country?!?!? The Answer: THE COURAGEOUS & FEARLESS MEN & WOMEN OF THE AFRICAN-AMERICAN CULTURE! DO SOME RESEARCH YOU RACIST MOTHERFUCKER!

  • such ignorance. people like you make this world sick!

  • Ignorance.

  • We cant suck so much that we performed at 2 of the last 3 Super Bowls not to mention the Grammys, the only showstyle band to when the Sulder Award, Be Declared the Best Marching Band by Sports Illustrated, Premiered at presidential inaugurations back to back have numerous documents made, travel to France to perform at the Bastille Day Parade, plus perform at the 15 and 25 anniversaries of Walt Disney World, and be named the MOST TELEVISED BAND IN AMERICA AND THE ONLY BAND THAT OTHERS CANT AFFORD

  • thats all good and dandy but i think this clip is about marching bands. Lets try to stay on topic here

  • great point!

  • Your horseshit you sorry bitch. Dont disrespect our shit!

  • This is an extremely inaccurate, borderline racist, and downright offensive portrayal of the world-famous Florida A&M University Marching "100"

  • errr, Obama's minister the Reverend Wright is the racist here. Nice attempt at deflection.

  • I dont think Rev Wright is racist. You'd be surprised how many pastors think the same way about American ideals

  • How is this racist when he is telling the truth. You need to see the full video on Marching Network instead of judging by this small clip

  • I was actually referring to the "african tribal music" that was played over our show...

  • The Michigan bands are American, not "European", and have been for 100 years. He thinks he is cute by calling them "European" versus "white", typical of a racist.

  • If i'm not correct he was referring to European teachings and not the band itself. I dont know if you know this but when you do learn in band you learn from European style teachings. Music itself comes form Europe. Its they way that the song is played that makes it what it is.

  • Fantastic

  • and the band played on....nobama...nobama

  • OBAMA!!!

  • bahahahhahahahha
