God I so wish I was married to Josie! I love her, but anyway. I like the British a bit better, host-wise, because Drew, sometimes, made it about himself and seemed a little like he is boastful, while Clive sat back and allowed the players do their work. Plus, sometimes screwed up games like World's Worst, where he'd say lame crap. However, the British is a bit serious and less laid back than American which is a plus for the latter. However, I like Whose Line... either way.

Hammond, good point. I think the two versions have strengths in different areas. Plus, the British version was edgier and less censored, which is always a bonus. And they seemed to have more original games than the American version. But I grew up with the US Whose Line, so I'm more used to Drew as host.

the only difference between the american version and the brittish version (except for the accents) is the eccesive clapping on the american one. thats the only thing that ruins it a little.

I like that the audience are a little louder...cos it gives it some atmosphere, which is a little lacking in the early episodes of the UK version. Even the set is dark and depressing.

The thing is - even this clip is from 1989 and still a fairly original concept - the American version practically imported wholesale a finished and polished programme. I have argued on another clip that the British version in 1994/95 contains the best of both worlds - both British and American audiences satisfied. Anyway I uploaded these so I am right, so there. I really liked both versions. I think the American version had a little more professionalism for lack of a better word. That being said, the UK version had to learn by doing, so thats understandable.

I liked how they had more different kind of games in the UK version, as opposed to just sticking to a select few.

I do think Carey is much better than Clive though.
