I like at the end when they're all laughing, even Richard Vranch is cracking up! And what a hell of a job Richard Vranch does every episode!! ^_^ I'm just glad Paul didn't actually fall down, that might have hurt. ~_^)
This is probably one of the top 5 most best, memorable moments in the UK version of Whose Line. This was and still is to this day a classic!! Timeless humor! --THE SPONGE MAN! Here is now!!-- lmao ^_^
And I remember watching this when it came out. >_<
josie is brittish xd i luv josie she is the bes she is my hero and she means the world to me if i was a boy no one could stop me i would mary her on the very first date XDxxx
God I so wish I was married to Josie! I love her, but anyway. I like the British a bit better, host-wise, because Drew, sometimes, made it about himself and seemed a little like he is boastful, while Clive sat back and allowed the players do their work. Plus, sometimes screwed up games like World's Worst, where he'd say lame crap. However, the British is a bit serious and less laid back than American which is a plus for the latter. However, I like Whose Line... either way.
Hammond, good point. I think the two versions have strengths in different areas. Plus, the British version was edgier and less censored, which is always a bonus. And they seemed to have more original games than the American version. But I grew up with the US Whose Line, so I'm more used to Drew as host.
I like the American version better because they have Colin, Wayne, Ryan most of the time. Best combination in my opinion. Though my favorite with the british was Tony.
just been watchin reruns of this and its a classic.doenst change with age and it cracks me up every time.fuck the american version, they steal all our ideas and ruini them, just look at the mess they made of hells kitchen.
the only difference between the american version and the brittish version (except for the accents) is the eccesive clapping on the american one. thats the only thing that ruins it a little.
Oh, and HAH at tony slattery! look how young he looks... bless :D
I like that the audience are a little louder...cos it gives it some atmosphere, which is a little lacking in the early episodes of the UK version. Even the set is dark and depressing.
The thing is - even this clip is from 1989 and still a fairly original concept - the American version practically imported wholesale a finished and polished programme. I have argued on another clip that the British version in 1994/95 contains the best of both worlds - both British and American audiences satisfied. Anyway I uploaded these so I am right, so there. Stop arguing now. Here endeth the lesson.
I really liked both versions. I think the American version had a little more professionalism for lack of a better word. That being said, the UK version had to learn by doing, so thats understandable.
I liked how they had more different kind of games in the UK version, as opposed to just sticking to a select few.
I do think Carey is much better than Clive though.
"i still think the americans are better cause we'd have had that british version shoved down our throats in australia if the british version was any good"
How do you even BEGIN trying to rationally debate with a person with the above logic and reasoning???
This is how Facsism works on people - lots of brainless morons like garamszegi who think something is only good if it's shoved down their throats rather than think things out for themselves...
You mean YOU'VE never heard of, Bubba. Whose Line was a British show sold to the yanks, and Drew "laugh too loudly at my own weak jokes" Carey wasn't fit to lace Clive Anderson's boots as a presenter.
This sounds frighteningly like the real thing from the late 60's and early 70's. Mike sounds (and somewhat looks) like Meatloaf and Josie sounds like the generic hippie musical singer of those days. If not for the laughter you'd believe this was a recording from back in the days when you listen to it.
My ALL TIME favorite UK only game ever! Everything about this was awsome. From Josie and Mike's wonderful voices to Tony's entrance and dance to Paul as Spongeman. Wonderful stuff!
Ohhh! I wish they played this in the American version.
This was an especially epic sketch!
