  • I love how all these people are on the Angels dick they fucking suck Pujols wont save them and CJ will regret leaving. The Rangers have made it to the world series the past two years and have a young team that will continue to get better this is the year they finally do it RFFL

  • We <3 Yu!!!!!

    Go Rangers!!!!

  • He's looking pretty sweet to me. Top 15 pitcher? I'd draft him.

  • Nolan Ryan and the Rangers top of the line scouting dept. have watched this kid since his career began. They know him inside out.If they believe he will be a success in the US,its probably true.Hes not like your typical Japanese pitcher.he is 6 foot 5, 2 25 lbs.Build for stamina. He has an incredible work ethic and is not distracted by his fame. Can't wait to see him pitch. He just might make other MLB teams jealous for not bidding on the rights to negotiate with him

  • Who is this guy? The Angels will destroy him.

  • @octitan42 like the angels have done the last 2 seasons right?

  • @octitan42 lol Yeah they'll destroy all 10 pitches he knows. AP won't know what to do when we have him starting.

  • Pujols is going to eat his pitches for breakfast.

  • Including his high school career

  • Can't wait to see what he does in the Majors.

  • His breakig ball is sick, right handers cant hit it. He can paint the corners with that 95 mph fastball and he can throw the breaking ball for strikes. Daniels basically eliminated the pujols signing and the loss of cj wilson with one player.

    Welcome to Texas Voodoo Darvish

  • his arm action is like mine!!!!!! great player hope he succeeds in the mlb

  • @SallyFoxx You mean your arm action is like his.

  • We will see how he does against major league hitters and not class a level hitters. Way too much hype about this guy..I am looking forward to seeing Pujols reach the 3rd deck at the launching pad in Arlington when he gets ahold of one of those flat fastballs up in the zone.

  • Not hating or anything just stating a fact..these are not even remotely close to major league caliber hitters he is facing. A lot of those strikeout pitches in Japan are either going to be laid off (the ones out of the strikezone) or taken yard (all those elevated off-speed pitches and flat fastballs) in the Major Leagues.

  • interesting to see how his transition to the MLB

  • That movement is ungodly. I think I speak for all Mariners fans when I say that I'm not at all excited about him playing in the West. To be fair, any pitcher with a pulse is scary to a Mariners fan.

  • all u losers r just jealous of Yu, he is a great pitcher and he tops out at 96MPH but has 6 great breaking balls

  • great another rice eating terrorist.!!!!

  • @ElmaCannonPrieto hahahaahahahahhahahaha nice try troll :D

  • I just hope he performs very well in MLB..

  • I saw a lot of really really bad swings in this video :P

  • the rest of the world is still at least 20yrs behind us in baseball we have been playing the sport for what, 125yrs? the best slugger out of japan was matsui, and he wasn't even a top tier slugger so i wont say he is legit until i see him in spring training.

  • we will see how good he does in the MLB look at who he is pitching the ball to, Japan is where alot of players go to retire as well as ppl cannot hack it in the majors. he is no Stephen Strausburg who mind you had to have tommy johns surgery. I say he blows his arm out in 2 years once he gets a taste of Puljos, Fielder, Jeter etc.

  • @Ssddftw facing good hitters has nothing to do with blowing your arm out

  • @natsnation37 are you serious? yes it does. he will try to push himself too much, pushing the ball over the plate too much, unless he has great movement on his pitches, but from what i have seen its nothing to shake a stick at.

  • @Ssddftw are yu blind? the movement on his pitches is amazing. He has a plus curve, fastball, slider, and 2-seamer. Why would pitching in the U.S. make him more succeptable to injury? All pitchers are injury risks and there are no red flags with darvish

  • He's a great pitcher and everything but this song makes this video unbearable. Mute button clicked.

  • what song is this?

  • i'm glad to see more asians are in major sports in the U.S.A looking forward to seeing him pitch for the rangers!

  • i am so pissed the nats didn't even bid on this guy. he's gonna be a stud. i can't wait until a couple years from now when we see darvish vs. strasburg in a WS game

  • Welcome to the Bigs!

  • Im an angeld fan and the only bad thing that happene this offseason was the rangers getting darvish. Hes gonna be really good. Whatever, maybe theyll be able to get the wild card now. Im not worried. Nice video but wtf is that music?!?

  • Oh my, the pitch at :48 is pure filth. Look at that movement.

  • 半年もすれば、レンジャーズの判断の可否がわかる。

    アンチのコメントに今は聞く耳をもたない。

  • These batters are HORRIBLE!!!!!

  • ダルビッシュを舐めないほうが良い。

  • He's got a legit fastball, but it's all about the location and the breaking pitches with him. He's gonna have one of MLB's best sliders from day one, and he has a good changeup and curveball as well. You add that to his great command of the fastball, and a lot of people are gonna look stupid.

  • I love reading these haters' comments. For every negative word against Yu or the Rangers lies a scared and jealous petty person.

  • Darvish excelled in Japan where:

    the strike zone is HUGE

they use a smaller ball, made of different material

pitchers only pitch once every 7-8 days

the hitters aren't as good as over here

Plus, playing in the league's most hitter friendly park doesn't help as well.

Expect an average pitcher, around a 3.50-4.00 ERA. Big waste of money when the rangers could have been pursuing prince.

  • @TopTenCrew

The plate is a little wider, but the players on avg are smaller,so the strike zone has it's own pros and cons.

Japan is increasing the ball size every year to make it the same we use in the US.

They do pitch once a week, but they also pitch longer, in 126 starts he had 50 complete games, 15 shut outs, wow.

Hitters are not as good but they still compare to our triple a, and a ERA under 2 in AAA means your a bad ass.

Arlington is hard to pitch but we have awesome defense.

  • @TopTenCrew You've been found wanting. (thumbs down hater)

  • He stuck out Adam Dunn in one slideshow pic but that doesnt say much cuz Dunn is Mr.K.

  • wow, this is sooo boring to watch for a european! a compilation of one guy throwing a ball and another guy not hitting it XD

  • Comment removed

  • @mariode84 right, I guess that's how americans feel watching soccer

  • Can't wait for CJ to blank him and Albert to Smash him when the Rangers and Angels play.... Go Angels!!!

  • @thatoneguyyoulike85 I'll take Darvish, Hamilton, and Fielder over Wilson and Pooholes.

  • @ThePoonerBooner 1. who says you have fielder? the nats are gonna get him.

    2. i think your forgetting about weaver (second place for cy young last year), trumbo (second place for rookie of the year last year), mike trout (#1 prospect in the league), and morales (finished 5th for mvp three years ago). oh and torii hunter, vernon wells, boujous, ianetta, aybar, kendrick, callaspo, haren, santana, abreu. yeah, seems like you have a new favorite team

  • @BAben61 Lmao. Im pretty sure Bryce Harper is the #1 prospect in the league you idiot. Trout ain't got shit on kinsler, young, hammy, beltre, nelly, and nap.. Yeah real great talent advisors you angel cunts have letting napoli go.. stfu naming your whole line up no bodys scared of that shit. talk to me when you hit more than 200 hrs in a season. until then gtfo

  • @thatoneguyyoulike85 C.J. couldn't blank anyone if his life depended on it, trust this ranger fan, you will love him in regular season, then hate him in post season. At least he's number 3 for yall behind weaver and haren and not number one. He belongs there. And didn't the Rangers shut Albert out in the series besides one game?.. oh yes we did. Have fun chasing the wild card for next decade, it's our turn!!

  • @thatoneguyyoulike85 Can. Not. Wait. GO HALOS!!

  • yeah has a fucking awsome curve ball you guys might have him but the astros need him more!

  • HOLY CRAP! I seriously can't wait to go to the Rangers Ballpark now. It s gonna be INSANE.

  • Helllloooo Ranger fans!!! Doesn't it fell so good to finally be out of Tom Hicks' shadow and starting up a new dynasty!! Can't wait to be at Arlington slappin hands with you all in 2012. Welcome to the future Yu..

    Texas, the new New York.

  • Wanna know why Japanese Pitchers do well in America. There WORK EFFORT.

  • GOD BLESS TEXAS!!!

  • Get ready Arlington You finally have a legit number one.YEEEEEEEE HAWWWWWWWW!!!!!

  • He's not worth $111.7 million

  • @baseballP25 But 10 a year i think he is!

  • Welcome to the TEXAS RANGERS! YUUUUUUUUU

  • Does anyone know if he speaks English? The rangers have a couple of Japanese born players on the team, so the transition to America should be easier for him with the Rangers, but it would be helpful working with the team if he already spoke English.

  • This is EPIC! He has the Power Rangers theme music... and he's gonna be a RANGER!

  • GO RANGERS!!!

  • Hahaha can't wait for him to become a Texas ranger!

  • He hasn't even signed!

  • Tomorrow is my B-day and I would like to say that if the Texas Rangers get him.......IT WILL BE THE BEST B-DAY EVER!!!!!!

  • go RANGERS YU DARVISH IS GOING TO KICK ASS

  • Darvish does not throw 99MPH...he tops out at 96.

  • @zter618661 he topped out at 99 mph during clutch situations i.e. the WBC in 09

  • @ItsZane true, & i witnessed myself at Dodger stadium

  • The world's best pitcher of America's #1 sport is Iranian-Japanese, from the country US nuked and the country it wants to nuke!

  • @Hesam0000 I think Justin Verlander has the title of World's Best Pitcher on lock...

  • @TheBewind 2011:

    SO : Jason= 250 . Yu=276

    IP: Jason=251 . Yu=232

    ERA: Jason= 2.4. Yu=1.44

    WHIP: Jason=0.92 Yu=0.82

They're pretty close, Yu has more SO. jason has more IP. And Yu is only 25. Career; At 25 Yu has 1259 Strikeouts compared to 28 year old Jason's 1215. 93-38(59%win) record for Yu, 107-57(47% win) for Jason. And his contract!

  • @Hesam0000 true, the stats don't lie. But I'd be very interested to see if he ends up like Daisuke Matsuzaka, who I found disappointing at best after all the hype. Plus, I always thought that MLB was a better offensive league than Japan's, but time will tell.

  • @Hesam0000 check your win percentages

  • @11PumaCat Yes, it should be 93/(93+38) = 71% for Yu and

    107/(107+57) = 65% for Jason

  • hes so hot...

  • Blue jay fans, our organization was just like yalls a couple years. Look where we are now. Your organization will get its money.

  • THREE PEAT!!! THIS SEASONS GONNA BE AWESOME!! GO TEXAS!!

  • Pujols is goin to destroy him

  • how fast does he throw?

  • @rhynodaddy44 93 - 97 mph. Topping out at 99 mph

  • @ItsZane True, but considering he has an electric slider in the mid 90s and actually has solid offspeed pitches, I dont see him needing to gas out on many pitches. Unfortunate the Rangers got him but I think this kid is going to be a stud.

  • 1:18!!!!

cant wait to see this guy pitch

  • My god, look at the movement on the ball. I thought Cliff Lee was nasty. This kid is 6' 5" and he can throw some wicked heat too. Def not a Matsuzaka repeat, not with all those pitches.

  • As much as I love Power Rangers esqe music..I had to mute this about 30 seconds in.

  • Welcome to Texas Chuck Norris !

  • sorry suckers, he's gonna be a Ranger!

  • I thought the game was just about throwing the ball and catching it, now the guy show some awesome move making the ball change direction,. awesome,...

  • haha @ the blue jays fan. RANGERS BABY!

  • There are a bunch of reasons to be excited about Darvish-the low walk totals, miniscule ERA, his 200+ IP's every season, but the biggest is that he looks supremely confident. Aces are supremely confident. I want a guy who takes the ball, rams it down your throat, and says "You're not touching this today." His biggest value will be in the playoffs, where that mentality is vital. Ranger fans today are cooing with delight. Welcome to the Rangers, Yu!

  • @spgdhami WOMP WOMP go rangers!

  • GO RANGERS!

  • omg his slider is soooo dirty. Nasty bite on it

  • man i hope this pays off good luck kid

  • Only time will tell ' we will see how good he really is " GO RANGERS !!!!!

  • I don't deny his talent, he looks amazing and as Rangers fan I'm pumped; I tread with caution just cause Pitchers from Japan/Korea haven't been the greatest success stories in recent memory e.g. Chan Ho Park, Byung-Hyun Kim, Chien-Ming Wang, Daisuke Matsuzaka. These guys get big money and fail miserably. I just hope Yu is the real deal cause I want a freakin title

  • @jcnicker89 chan ho park was great o.o

  • All he does is throw strikes.

  • Dear MLB,

    YUUUUUUUU MAD??????

    Signed,

    The Texas Rangers

  • RANGERS BABY!

  • @BrianLindseyDrums The Power Ranger.

  • Yu Darvish is a Texas Ranger.

  • Chuck Norris playing baseball= Yu Darvish

  • AA doesnt make poor baseball decisions. If he and the organization spent the money to get Darvish, best believe they think hes worth every cent.

Romero/Darvish 1-2 with a young backend that includes Henderson Alvarez and all the starters we've drafted in years prior. Things are coming together....

  • LOL 1:16. Crazy stuff. Come on Jays spend some money!

  • Getting this guy would be great for Toronto baseball. With his size, he reminds me a lot of Randy Johnson

  • @rc22151

Yes, and that is why Japan won the WBC only 2 times out of 2 tournaments...wait.

  • Heard that the Blue Jays posted the highest bid, I wish they would confirm this! Can't wait to see this guy pitch in MLB.

  • Is it the same catcher in the whole video?

  • Terrible music selection for this... lol 1. mute this. 2. make a new youtube tab 3. put on bombs & bottles- when the lights go out. 4. enjoy

  • My God, his slider is so inconsistent. Some are downright filthy and others hang with very little bite.

  • @Frederick0220 different pitches dipshit

  • @bigbody679 No, I'm talking strictly about the slider. LOL, WHY U MAD THO?

  • C.C Sabathia

    Yu Darvish

    Ivan Nova

    A.J Burnett

    Freddy Garcia :D

  • @zRodolfozz Better luck with Matt Garza

  • @spgdhami no way, Nationals all day!!

  • japan league hitters are AA level.

  • @rc22151 ur an idiot, they won the classic and all ur american hitters are doped up on every PED under the sun !!!!

  • Now I see what the fuss is about... That slider is sick!!! But I see honestly Toronto BlueJays getting him.. Coming from a Cardinals fan..

  • whatever club in MLB gets him will make their money back, which is why i'm confused by the Yankees saying he's too expensive for them

  • i love the street fighter music in the background

  • In short, let's see what happens. Good video by the way. : )

  • In addition, The reason why he might stay in Japan is because he might actually get a better contract RENEWAL (not a FA) than a new contract after posting in the MLB. And in the past he has openly expressed he would prefer to stay in Japan. But I am not ruling out a tenure in the MLB for him. At times it seems he is playing with hitters in Japan. Ive seen him pitch games where he purposefully sat at 90mph but then blew them away at 95mph later. So moving up a league might be of interest to him.

  • A lot of you have no idea what's really going on. So let me just say that it is NOT a fact he will come to the MLB. Right now it seems a bit more likely he will stay in Japan. And yes, pitchers have a 6 man rotation. BUT this season in late August, Nashida (the Fighters manager) switched to a 5 man rotation to get Darvish more starts (as well as a more solid rotation in general). Also, dont even compare him to CJ. They pitch in 2 very different leagues, how the hell can you even compare them?

  • @spgdhami looks like they got the rights!

  • @spgdhami There's an old saying in Texas "Never count your chickens before they hatch.".....GO RANGERS....

  • @spgdhami rangersss haha

  • @spgdhami

Sorry to burst your bubble but i think not, GO RANGERS!!!

  • @spgdhami that's not true :)

  • @spgdhami umm no hes goin to the texas rangers, rangers allready talkin to him, sorry he wants to play on a good team man

  • @spgdhami LOL. NOT!

  • @spgdhami LOL

  • the mariners might get him....japanese connection!

  • sign this guyankees...

  • all his breaking balls look like wiffle balls..especially his slider..lol

  • nooo not the yankees! the dodgers!

  • He won't be this good in MLB. Look at dicek. At best, hell be like cj Wilson

  • @nepatriots77 don't see him being like CJ wilson at all. I think a better comparison would be him and Chris Carpenter. He's just 26 and yes he probably won't be this good after he posts, I think he's got much better stuff than Dice K as he's not fooling people with a "gyro" ball type pitch, he mixes his pitches fairly well

  • @JMonteroCollector21 No also remember that baseballs in MLB are bigger compared to those from Japan. Also Japanese baseball league has less games each season. Trust me, he'll be lucky to be like CJ wilson.

  • @nepatriots77 Yes I know that Pitchers in Japan only pitch once a week and have smaller balls but still why are you comparing him to CJ Wilson. They're not alike

  • @JMonteroCollector21 No you don't get it. Not just once a week but less total games pitched. I am comparing him to CJ wilson because CJ wilson is the best free agent pitcher in MLB right now.

  • @nepatriots77 dicek ripped up the first two seasons he played

  • @zRodolfozz ya dude im with you on that ive been on the yu darvish bandwagon for about 2 months now. I fan text 103.3 and 105.3 about him when they talk baseball free agency he's just to good to pass up on. This guy is not like Dice K in Boston this guy is 6'5 and has 7-10 pitches some more solid then others of course. The posting system in Japan is a load of crap though...so im not so optimistic as I was 2 months ago .

  • Really hope the Rangers get him since we are in need of a star pitcher who can deliver all the time not like CJ Wilson who fail apart in the post season

  • @zRodolfozz i hope my Yankees get him :D

  • @ItsZane lol.... i know right... yankees should get him.. since he will be playing in the mlb next season...

  • @ItsZane fuck your yankees

  • @ItsZane I think my Jays got him! lol

  • @ItsZane LOL Jays are gonna get him!

  • @ItsZane oops

  • @zRodolfozz not once but twice. Stoked we picked him up today.

  • @zRodolfozz Looks like we're gonna get him buddy!!! =D RANGERS!!!

  • @zRodolfozz BOOOOOOOOMMMMM!!!!!

  • @zRodolfozz Congrats? you got the rights to bid
