That isn't a rule. The rule of boucning on your head and it doing over does mean it is a homer. But it is because if you go to catch it over the wall and it hits your glove but goes over that mean it is in play? See the ball never touch the ground on that play and you didn't get a out. Like Milton Bradley he catches it and throws it into the fans near the bullpen. It was counted as a home run because the inning wasn't over and officially he didn't record the out.
