@Dragonetta2010 You're right, yestarday I was watching the episodes and someone said that. But it still takes a little more efforn no matter how good the driver is, but in his case he's GODLIKE!
My grandpa owned a ae86 Trueno, the things are fun to drive even stock, he had it sideways quite a few times. too bad he sold it (was in mint condition, and under 100k miles). the person that bought it blew the motor a year later dogging the crap out of it on a daily basis.
@86995537 because in Japanese it is cool to sometimes to add english words or phrases in with Japanese. Like how in english in movies and other entertainment we sometimes say Sayonara as a goodbye when its japanese. Same logic...
Yes, AWDs can drift but really only a hard turn or brake drift. Thats what rally drivers use. The e-brake doesn't really work that well for AWD but if you are skilled at drifting you can probably handle it.
awd can drift. You just need to have limited differentials,m harder dampers on the rear and and set the differential to give more torque to the rear wheels.
You know rally cars like Lancer and Subaru are AWD and they do drift.
watch the episode where takumi races the honda civic SiR eg6. left foot braking eliminates understeer on FF cars, i use it constantly in my del sol si even during daily driving
Here in Puerto Rico we have downpowred AE86s and we dont use them much for racing, but after wathcing the whole Initial D anime, I realized i want one exactly like Takumi's but with, of course, more parts and tuning.
Actually I want a 240SX with a RB26DETT engine but thats kinda out of my budget but hey maybe someday I would get one!
yea im puerto rican but live in the states sooooo many corolla GTS's down there haha up here in mass if you find one its rusted out also worthless here.... the snow makes it impossible to use in the winter their so light they dont go anywhere...and if they do their spinning the whole way there D:
Why takumi managed to keep up with the celica is his AE86 and that Celica both have the same hp. Remeber the AE86 had a swap into a blacktop 20 valve 250 hp
Now the difference betweent the two is the input from the driver
well that is true but its still an AWD vs the FR and that gives the Celica a huge advantage, even if the AE86 has snow tires its still going to fall behind. what truly made it happen is the fact that Tak knows how to drive in the snow very well and the fact that Miki sucks, if it was a better driver, the 86 wouldnt have caught up in three corners
driving like that in snow is really easy :) i did it every snowy night last winter, and i can tell you that its not really hard to do...but if the opponent can drive better than miki san in the video, you cant follow an AWD with an AE86 on slippery roads...
Ok, I love Toyota all around. But Honestly, you think a RWD Corolla is going to be able to withstand driving in snow vs an AWD Celica GT-FOUR? I think not.
have you ever driven a rwd car with a lsd in snow or rain? Not even Takumi and his lame ass winning spree could race like this...its really beyond reason
@86005537 because ae86 is just the chassis code of the trueno cars in japan are sold with there names in american english to attract more buyers in asia the actual name of the car is GT-FOUR thus the actual name of the Hachi is Trueno
@86005537 because the GT-4 is a car name and AE 86 is a car name and year the AE 86 is the model AE built in 86 hence the reason for the pronunciation
@blueeyesseto Actually, AE86 stands for the chassis code. The 8 stands for the fifth generation (E80), and the 6 stands for the amount of variations in the generation (GT, GT-APEX and GTV, available to both the Trueno and the Levin, hence 6).
lol if only he was driving an evo (and no the subaru does not have a snow option TROLOL)

Yeah. ST205 is the chassis code for that model of Celica. The previous Carlos Sainz ran on the ST185 platform.

Good question. Ever heard of reversed heel & toe?
left foot on clutch... right heel lightly on brakes
and toe on accelerator... that's HOW you do it.
imprezaver4 2 years ago
But left foot braking has it's weakness too.
Because front tyres are spinning and brake
pads are on at the same time, tyres will lose
grip if you use it too many times. Left foot
braking for FFs only works on big curves &
horse shoes. Don't use it at hair pins, not
essential at all as you will not gain traction
and speed while exiting hairpins.
