  • beyond this being a mind-blowing performance, Robbie's voice is probably at its best in this recording IMHO.

  • nobody out there today can touch kansas.i have seen them 4 times and will see them again in 2 weeks at the nc state fair.they are rock icons, period!!!!!!!!!!

  • @cbsundance just seen them oct 7 at JMU,they had the JMU symphony playing with them and it rocked!!

  • I'm looking everywhere for a clear image of any of the guy's forearm, bird tattoo...anyone have a pic? I found it a few years ago, and now it's gone.

  • i dont really want the best band in the world associated with the rock n roll hall of fame who has grand master flash in it. it would be an incredible insult to me and god

  • they always did this song very well live :)

  • amazing video...much respect to the editor....

  • @Mrnewvision7777 Thank you!

  • KANSAS: Forever in our hearts, and spiritual HALL OF FAME!

Thank you for the wonderful songs, and fun filled memories...

    Arturo - Bordeaux Ghost Town

  • i'm a drummer of over 27 years, and kansas tunes are what i cut my teeth to when i was beginning, and of course rush as well, but this tune is just incredible. i don't know how many times i've pplayed this and it never gets old. classic....

  • Leftoverture is on of the best albums of all time. thanks for the great compilation.

  • the keybard bit sounds like him from school of rock

  • Off into the sunset, like the western heroes do!

  • This is my favorite Kansas song. Everything about it is perfect. Kerry Livgren is the best! He has no equal. Kansas ruled the 70's and early 80's. Why they are not in the Hard Rock Hall Of Fame is Unbelievable!

  • @marhill77 You're so right! I guess their music isn't "hard" enough to be in the Hard Rock Hall Of Fame, but aren't they in the Rock 'n' Roll Hall Of Fame?

    Michael.

  • @Kansasforlife ummmm noooooo

  • @BrentMB79 Really? Hmmm... I don't know, they're certainly in something that ends with "Of Fame", but I can't really remember what it is...

  • i am an offspring of a music. i have seen miracles and i am a kinda madman. i see the laws of 8s, connect to music, physics, astronomy, everything and the Fibonacci sequence that goes from the DNA(molecular), the quantum theory(subatomic to Planck's constant ) the formation of human's to the formation of the earth, the comos and beyond. GOD has something to do with it so i guess i am real a madman for the ultimate truth.

  • Great album, one of the all time best. I saw Kansas back in the 70;s at the Long Beach Arena. Good times.

  • It was released in late 1976.

  • @wolfeman181 So? lol

  • Those lyrics are timeless

  • People who don't "get" Kansas tend to have itty bitty attention spans.

  • @martel732 very true. e.g. my friend whos fav band is arcade fire but in my opinion they are no match for kansas such skill and finess put into their music. love it :D

  • great video thanks ! It makes me miss Robbie.

  • Nice clip, thanks!

  • Some of the greatest rock composers ever!!! Great classic rock, Kansas!

  • Kerry Livegrin thank you for richly blessing us

    Thank you also Kansasforlife!!

  • this is the song of the prodigal. god will always take you back. moreover, he'll accept you, regardless, if you never knew him or left him, unconditionally. livgren da man

  • fucking awesome. period

  • great song. it brings back my high school days. great band; in that i mean that these musicians really gelled and wrote and performed as a unit. thank you.

  • love kansas, one of the best

  • Michael. You are as passionate as I was at your age. It is so great to see and feel this passion you have.

Kansas will never leave you !

    They will shape your life.

  • Thank you very much for your nice words, Dave :-).

    Michael.

  • Great Vid. Great pics! Thanks.

  • Thank you :-)

  • Excellent work my friend! I love this song! You get everything about Kansas all rolled up in one tight tune! Beautiful musical and lyrical beginning to the classical Bach type middle with lots of crazy time changes and layered counterpoints to the kickin' rock statement with awesome guitar work and the majestic ending!Perfect example of the anatomy of a Kansas song. Great photos too!

  • Thank you very much Rick. I love that genius song too. Some of the new photos were quite hard to find but in the end it was worth it :-).

    Michael.

  • Yes a perfect example of their genius. !!

Tell me now dear mother what's it like to be so old

children grown and leaving seems the world is growing cold.

Those lines made a young boy from New York cry when he first heard them
