  • I saw him and went class 2. Awesome squat Chuck. Competed in Ohio with you in the 90's.

  • This is stupid. He us lretty much a damn bionicle

  • His raw squat (no belt or wraps) with a stance just than wider shoulder width and a proper walkout? Realistically about 650lbs. Ed Coan in his day would probably do 880lbs+.............under IPF rules. I'm not hating. Just being real.

  • fuckin strong guy but pathetic range of motion

  • @iBenchMoreThanYou No one cares.......

  • I miss the eighties where we had to go much deeper than this to get three white lights. I also miss the days when you actually had to pause the bar on your chest when you benched. Powerlifting has gone to hell in the past twenty five years. Im glad that at least the deadlift is still a real lift.

  • @itswhatido100 We must be about the same age, and I too remember and miss both the depth in the squats and pause in the bench presses, along with the lack of "gear" that is so frequently utilized today. Oh well, move forward...

  • @itswhatido100 yeah bench press shirts and the whole nine fucking yards of horse-shit. Powerlifting has become a parody of itself, a special Olympics version. When Paul Anderson squatted 1200 pounds he SQUATTED it. When he benched 620 he benched it right and proper. He was funny too. He had to deadlift Sumo style because his legs were each inches around. I'd love to see a large body of lifters break away and start their own Old School powerlifting competitions. Never happen.

  • Just consider that its a shitty angle to judge depth from this vid. A lot of PL squats can look high because of huge quads too, because the hip is WAY below the top of the thighs.

  • @iBenchMoreThanYou obviously you didn't do your research. its a specific powerlifting squat. look it up.

  • Sure this is high. But it wont suprise me if he squats 400 raw, deep.

  • Wow, he exploded from the bottom of the squat with 1175lbs, holy $hit as I realize he can do more?!?!

  • And yet more 'this isn't a real squat' comments.

There are rules in powerlifting. The squat rule is that the bar leaves the rack, it held to a squat command (if given in that fed) and is squatting until the hip crease breaks parallel). Not til your hams touch your heels. Not til you sit onto the floor. This way makes complying with those rules easier.

If someone found it was faster to HOP the 100m sprint, you think people would still be running?

  • @pisswizzard By your definition of a valid powerlifting squat, isn't this invalid?

  • @tempac91 The judges at the meet who are sat in line with parallel, deemed he hit parallel. Some meets don't require a start command (SPF for example) and other require the bottom of the leg to pass parallel.

I wholeheartedly agree that a unifying set of rules would make all this far easier and would also give the internet judges amongst us a field day. By the rules on this day in this fed, this is a legal squat.

  • @pisswizzard What federation is he lifting under ? from the IPF rulebook and I quote "Failure to bend the knees

    and lower the body until

the top surface of the legs

at the hip joint are lower

than the top of the knees"

  • @pisswizzard Actually if you check, all rulebooks state the same thing (upper crease of hip below parallel blah blah blah) it's just enforced differently from fed to fed. But the wording in the rulebooks are almost identical in all federations.

  • someone make this man a character in gears of war

  • Funny how the elifters who have never competed and never will judge his form when he is over 5x as strong as they are. Hilarious actually.

  • deffo broke parallel, true boss effort with that much shit on up there O_o

  • you retards

  • his form is perfect.... obviously youve never done research into westside squat tech. Have you seen how wide they part legs when they squat unto the box? They squat exactly the same when they do a comp. The days of having a close stance and dropping atg are over main reason is because of the gear. 2nd because humans are very lazy and we wont do anything more then we have to.

  • Fucking ulgy retard look how wide his legs are, his form is horrible.

  • @Nateboyee Go troll selena gomez and justin bieber videos you fucking kid. I fucked your mum. And dad.

  • @Nateboyee yeah, your right, throw 1,000lbs on the bar and show us how its done. thanks.

  • @Nateboyee says the guy that'l get stapled by 400 pounds. its a powerlifting squat, and a perfect one at that. do your hw before you decide to talk shit.

  • @ken1ch1kun Perfect squat ? yeah if the competition is called the "high squat" you fucking yanks give powerlifting a bad name with this sort of bullshit, come over here to the UK and see if that would get passed, not a chance in hell

  • @MrMorry27 I love how anyone who's been in the strength world for their fair share of time knows who chuck vogelpohl is and we have absolutely no idea of whoever the fuck you are. you train for your specific federation requirements, idiot. 1000 pounds will staple your ass to the floor.

  • lol nigga squats

  • Are there any videos out there of 1000 lb+ squats from a side view? It's easier to see there depth that way...

  • Oh shit I almost forgot.. it's everyday we see someone squat 1175. Perfectly or not I couldnt even bare that being on my shoulders at all.

  • wow, 10inch ROM squat... I think there is something wrong with my 2 feet rom squat.....

  • this was definately parallel. if chrome dome wasn't in the way it would be easier to see, but he broke parallel.

  • Chuck is clearly a very strong man but I dont care how many judges passed it, no way was that parallel

  • you have to look at how wide his stance is... he breaks parrell. If any of you ever squat with that wide of a stance youll realize you dont need to go down far to break parrell

  • @mrcooolbrah I sumo squat and in no way was that parallel, not even close

  • @thegreasyspeedo Im not trying to start any trouble here, all i know is you gay

  • @MattWhite900 that was real lame

  • The most impressive 3 inch range of motion I've ever seen.

  • @crapstacker5 HAHAHA

  • not gonna lie, the music legit goes perfectly with this....

  • Ah good old tall poppy syndrome. The man's a beast. End of story. Most people on the planet couldn't squat a third of that weight.

  • is he peeing?

  • If thats not a squat then I don't know what is.. It look perfect to me.

  • u cant imagine the rush you get after a very heavy squat set nothing compares to the gains it gives you done right

  • ROFL, the bar is crying on that one

  • Whys everybody Hating on Chuck, he has accomplished alot more then all you! Everybody sayin thats not a squat, put your videos up of your squats and lets all judge you!

  • @cavemac1 well you dont know what a squat is

  • @CloningerS72 HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Wow and you KNOW ME right? You must be the most proficiant weight lifter on youtube huh? Why people always cowardly talking shit on here i dont understand it. Everybody is a tough guy on the internet....

  • i got a hernia from watching the video.

it's insane that anyone would even put that much weight across their back.

  • ok ya fine its a little high but im pretty sure that most ppl who comment cant even rack that weight let alone squat it.... give the man some respect

  • this guy is a boss, not a fat cunt like most top weight lifters out there.

  • that aint a squat.

  • If it ain't Raw, it ain't Real.

  • i know that isnt a good squat, but to put that much weight on your shoulder is damn impressive to me

  • ...this was a great squat. Love everybody griping on here. If any of you had balls, you'd shut the fuck up.

  • Doesn't count

  • that is not a squad...

  • @supertoan1234 correct. it's a squat

  • @blasecastor this will never be an olympic sport. First of all it takes no athletic ability to powerlift and 2. "you" (guys like in this video) don't even come close to squatting low enough like weightlifters do. Especially real olympic weightlifters. This guy would be lucky to do half of this weight with a properly preformed squat and not having his legs spread apart as far as a 5 dollar hooker.

  • hahaha he is so tense he looks like a frickin transformer or something

  • That was it?

  • Damn near got altitude sickness from watching this high squat

  • @Bishiup really?! thats 1175lbs on his back, and in most orginizations the top of the knee has to be parallel with or lower than the hip joint, which it obviously is. In mutli gear squatting youd be a retard to go ass to grass, one you would tramendous amounts of rigidity in the hips and lower back, and 2 you get in all that gear and get that damn low and stay balanced and controlled, this man is a living legend, and a total badass to boot.

  • @Bishiup really?! thats 1175lbs on his back, and in most orginizations the top of the knee has to be parallel with or lower than the hip joint, which it obviously is. In mutli gear squatting youd be a retard to go ass to grass, one you would loose tramendous amounts of rigidity in the hips and lower back, and 2 you get in all that gear and get that damn low and stay balanced and controlled, this man is a living legend, and a total badass to boot.

  • lmfao

  • @Bishiup It was regulation depth by any powerlifting competition standards. Don't be jealous just because you couldn't even unrack half of that weight.

  • @thegreasyspeedo l0l calm your shit

  • @thegreasyspeedo you gay, he gay, yall gay

  • @MattWhite900 intelligent response. you got anything else in that sack of rocks you call a brain?

  • @Bishiup the squat had depth

  • @Bishiup he hit parallel and thats what his federation requires. powerlifting squats are way different from regular squats. do your hw before you talk shit.

  • @ken1ch1kun ^.^

  • @ asborisov. Yea I am reading into the IPF and the other federations. Basically if it is not IPF or one of its affiliates, it's basically all bullshit. No?

  • I don't know why this guy doesn't lift in the IPF. Man he is strong!

  • @blasecastor BECAUSE HE'LL GET RAPED IN THE IPF. N0 HALF BULLSHIT SQUATS, N0 MULTI GEAR, AND STRICTER RULES.

  • I can't even think about that weight being on my back let alone moving it concentrically or eccentrically

  • i wonder how big his penis is flaccid?

  • @themyrs371

    ask your mom

  • @themyrs371 : dude, I think you have the wrong page. This is a powerlifting/sports page.

  • He didn't get 90 degrees, didn't count. :P

  • tats it?

  • Chuck is the man! The deepest squats of anyone over 1000. Unreal.

  • @tajsports10 you having a laugh?!?!?! I've seen lollipop ladies do better (NOT heavier) squats than that... fucking blurt him!

  • And for the steroids issue, they aren't magic pills or injections you take and you suddenly become a ridiculously strong freak by sitting on your ass eating cheesy poofs. Even if you take them, you still have to be in the gym busting your ass with everything you got every day and shoveling down the plates upon plates of food down your throat every 2 hours or the steroids won't do a damn thing

  • @LegendKillerJosh psh, save your words, don't tell me how i should think about steroids fucker

  • @tldevilsh I didn't tell you what to think fag, I said they aren't as big of a crutch as most people think. You are ignorant and dumb.

  • @LegendKillerJosh well i said nobody cares about what you think, dumbass like you don't have enough credit to educate others.

  • 1 last point here, suits are not nearly as magical as people think and neither are steroids. Whether or not he has a suit on, there is still 1175lbs of bone crushing iron directly on his back. A suit can not take that away. A suit is for support only, it doesn't make you stronger. The first time I put on elbow sleeves I was able to bench 15 more pounds, but regardless of the fact I had sleeves on, I still needed my delts, triceps, chest and back to be stron enough to handle the 15 pounds.

  • Oh and by the way the judges know what they are doing, and they have a better view than this camera does. If they say it's a good lift, then it 100% is.

  • Why are there so many haters now in powerlifting? It didn't use to be like this. Anyone who says he is fat, his form is bad, he can't do 800 raw, he didn't hit depth or any other hater comment, post a video reply of yourself hitting even 1/2 of 1175 or else you can keep your mouth shut. This guy can squat more than 99% of the populations TOTAL so if you criticize him you are a worthless turd.

  • @LegendKillerJosh: I think people who critique come from legitimate powerlifting federations, and we would like to make this an olympic sport and not a multi-ply, steriod, circus show.

  • has anyone ever tried getting that wide and squatting? its not as easy as you'd think. it puts enormous stress on your groin and it take a ton of strength to keep your knees from diving in. and hitting parallel in this stance is a lot farther down than most people think.

  • i wonder how much he could do without a suit. probably 800 something

  • @lovesgibson He can probably curl more than all 3 of your combined lifts, but good observation :)

  • What song is that?

  • The man is a beast, just thinking about sqautting that hurts my back!

  • Wow u people that think you know everythig about weightlifting, none of you could even come close to lifting what professional litters like him do. You're criticizing him and he's a professional. So until you become a professional, shut up and stop talking shit and acting like you know everything.

  • Damn i dont know why people talk shit about this this man has some balls talk shit when u can do this

  • He's pretty much a beast.

  • Guy at my school Chuck Hunter senior. Squats like 615.

  • @cochan91

Shut da hell up no u ddnt

  • This is not the World Record. Vlad Alhazov squatted 1250 lbs. Correct me if I'm wrong.

  • @Cochan91 spot on accurate

  • @Cochan91 Donnie Thompson just broke the record with a 1260 squat.

  • @csnider7558 holy shit

  • @Cochan91 yeah man it was crazy i was there

  • vogelpohl and vlad alhazov are in different weight categories.

  • @roupoupou Chuck got his 1180 squat at 275 i think, so he is not too far off from vlad

  • lmfao at the music

  • wtf? is stance is so wide. he only has to go down a little bit. id like to see him do that with proper form, he wouldnt come close....

  • @IVIPO1SONIVI You are not very educated in powerlifting are you? He is going for power, not sculpting there hoss. Learn what you are talking about before you make yourself look like a jerk. You get more power from your groin in doing a squat with a wide stance than you do from doing a squat in "proper form" I guarantee that his form is perfect, I mean he only squatted 1175 with no injuries on a good lift, but hey, what do the judges know, right?

  • i got 665 and i am only 16

  • @treitor15

who is interested in that ? right, nobody !

  • @treitor15 hey i'm 12 and squat 1100 lbs, thanks for asking

  • @Cochan91 your 12 and have the worlds smallest dick, as well as being the most awkward kid in america

  • @TheGod666slayer thanks for that highly intellecual comment

  • @Cochan91 i aim to please

  • @treitor15 Im 7 and I squatted 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000 pounds.

  • @theclark984 your seven and can't pronounce that number! lol example "1 stutter stutter.....STUTTER!" no one is that strong or anything is that strong but hell if you can do it prove it!

  • @bronco19013 I'm sorry I meant to say that i'm 7 months old and I actually squatted 20000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 kilograms.

  • @theclark984 oh ok you must lift your mom! after she had you! lol jk

  • looks like my nanny has to sit in her chair and i have to help her...LOL

  • didnt vlad hit a 1250?

  • @matklstrength What a fucktard you are!!!

  • SUPERDILDOSQUAT!!!..I think that my grandmother can do it better than this "walkout"!!!

...hmmm no, he didn't do even the walkout!

  • haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • Apart from poor form/a very high squat there is on international agreement on squat as there are several organisations worldwide. I squatted 400kg at 119 bw and was to ipf standards. yes it's a lot of weight but I also squated 450 with a double suit and rather high but I never considered it a legal squat.

ofcourse it's an amazing amount of weight but I'm sure no one disagrees with me when I say he would not go to IPF depth and come back up again

  • @romakayak one problem, he is not in the IPF. You must feel pretty good about yourself to be talking smack about a WORLD RECORD squat. The gear doesn't lift the weight for you. Chuck's form is some of the best in the business. By the way form tends to go away a little when you lift ultra heavy weight like Chuck does. Anyone can say they squat 400+ kg but can you prove it? I didn't think so......Shut your cock holster.

  • Has he ever even struggled with a squat? Fuck that was fast.. Can't wait to see him break 1200

  • what was his bodyweight?? and what's the name of this song?

  • what's world record with butt to the ground, good form fact?

  • @poidsfi why would your butt touch the ground? Good form is the hip getting parallel nothing more or less...

  • @redneckman1212 , no, good form is below the parallel, watch Dr Fred, Hatfield squat and you know the difference.

  • @redneckman1212 , from pure scientific point of view, this chuck dude has relatively long shim and he's subject to leaning foward when putting a massive load on his shoulder, he is not built for squat and there shouldn't be any doubt this world record can not be taken serious, Chinese people have short lower legs, and they are built for squat, check watch?v=R_jxTc2ITA8&feature=fvwrel 2008 arnold class Chinese lifter, their form is perfect

  • @poidsfi

weird post bro. BUT!!! i completely agree with you in your point.

    cheers

  • @poidsfi You're a dumbass.

  • Erase "the amount of" from my second to last sentence.

  • @beerecan1227 Great point and great evidence as well! I totally agree with everything you're saying about equipment! I am just ticked by the sumo squat and the amount of range of motion. Still it is an amazing lift nonetheless, just doesn't look as impressive as Dr. Squat's 1000lb squat.

  • @mhrockstar oh by sight and situation alone Dr. Squat's grand is up there with lee moran's grand (dumped the bar and was knocked unconscious then had the collars fail and the weights fell off then finally when granted an "equipment failure re-attempt" he smoked it (relatively) to be the first person to hit a 1000 on a national stage. and waddington's 1000 which was the 1st 1000lbs squat in competition (local meet)... but the sport evolves and the weights go up... change or get left behind ya kno

  • @Beerecan1227 he's right. Bob Hoffman, John Grimek, Paul Anderson and several others would be ashamed as well. I'd have to say the best 1000lb squat I have seen with good form and good range of motion is by Dr. Squat. Look him up. He does an insane 1000lb squat!

  • @mhrockstar kirk karwoski ed coan and steve goggins may have a problem with that statement lol. Am i saying that all these squats are ass to ground, no. am i saying these feats of strength are great, yes. lifting in gear vs raw is like playing football in a dome with hybrid cleats revolution helmets and impact pads vs sandlot football. If you took barry sanders outta his gear and put him in a back yard football game with sneakers he wouldn't be as fast but he'd still be fast as hell wouldnt he?

  • @beerecan1227 to continue, I've seen 900lb raw deadlifters wear all the gear in the world and deadlift 915, I've seen ben brand at the IPA nationals bench 655 raw and then put on a inzer bench shirt (top of the line) and max out at 770 and I've seen mendy bench 715 raw put on a 2 ply bench shirt and bench 1015. Gear is gear some work well with it some work well without it. Konstantin konstantinovs only adds 200lbs equipped; i know people who have 500lbs difference. its a totally different beast

  • Great music for this video.

  • such a shame powerlifting has devolved to such poor standards. That was embarrassing to watch

  • @romakayak go lay in a ditch dude its more than half a ton on a human back its impressive i dont care how you cut it

  • @romakayak 100% agreed. It's pathetic and laughable. It's not even powerlifting, a completely different sport.

  • i fucking hate sumô squats lol but this is a lot of weight

  • Looked a tad high to me :P

  • @sbowesuk could be the fed but most feds have changed to "hip crease must pass top of knee" which his did... i miss the old top of hip socket has to pass the knee depth but hey i dont make the rules i just lift by them

  • @beerecan1227 Lol so feds have redefined parallel and taken even more depth away? Just another reason why I really don't like "parallel". It's one cut corner after another. Lame.

  • @sbowesuk you cant blame the athlete tho... if the fed is the problem its the fed not the lifter... thats all i'm saying. breaking parallel is all that is required in all feds, people chose to do ass to the ground because raw there is a rebound effect when your hamstrings hit your calves due to your ligaments and quads overstretch. in gear you cant get that low but you can (and chuck did) break parallel because the hip socket is below the knee socket hence below parallel

  • in sane

  • Chuck norris could curl that with one finger :P

  • Wow, that was easy. I guess everyone's predictions are right. Chuck is just around the corner from a 1200 pound squat.

  • 5 people skip leg day every week.

  • wow i imagine it would be a fat guy with stubby legs, but this guy looks like he just got outta vietnam

  • @gh4pwner CHUCK IS IN TOP FORM.

  • that would destroy my neck

  • Guy is a beast!

look pretty deep to me, defiantly broke parallel

  • @smokinHawkjh Get your eyes checked you blind idiot. That was in the nose-bleed section just like all their (Lexen, multi-ply, etc.) squats. Multi-ply is gay. Have him take all that crap off and I bet he can't even walk-out and break parallel with 405...LOL!!!!

  • @DearJimWendler Your a fucking idiot.Put that shit on and come to the meets and get your fucking ass smoked into oblivian you faggot ass pussy.

  • @DearJimWendler He pulls 835 you freaking retardsd moron.

  • @billysabu I wasn't even talking about his DL but since you mentioned it, he might actually wanna lock it out for a change. Three REDS!!! No lift.

BTW...are u Billy Mimnaugh? That guy is an unemployed loser. I heard he lost his job because of his drug habit.

  • @DearJimWendler

Wow another gutless coward with a fake name.I tell you what you gutless prick.ANYTIME you want to put pics of your house against my house for 5,000 dollars to see who has a nicer home let me know.In fact, lets forget that. Why dont we just meet up at a meet and fight and see what a big man you are you little dickhead and then try talking your shit to Chucks face...oh wait, your an internet tough guy hiding behind a screen name. You sound as stupid as that faggot Sean Katterle.

  • @billysabu You hillbilly mongoloid...lol. You know why there's 12 people spotting? I'll tell ya why...the same exact reason you always see these videos being shot from the front, because they don't want anyone to see how high the squats are. What's your obsession with everyone else's sexuality? Maybe you and chuck are more than just "buddies"? lol You suck. Why bother coming to a meet like this where the average IQ is around 4-ish? Oh wait, that's right...it's for the FREE pizza.

  • one thing we all learned from vogelpohl: there is no substitute for hard work

    everybody talks but few do

    and even fewer do well

  • he weighed 115 KG and Squatted 532 KG!!!!he benched 276KG he pulled 362,5 RAW

    thats craaaaaaaazyyyyy go CHUCK

  • this guy looks mean as fuck

  • I blinked and must have missed the squat part. Still pretty impressive to stand there with that much weight on your back,
