There are rules in powerlifting. The squat rule is that the bar leaves the rack, it held to a squat command (if given in that fed) and is squatting until the hip crease breaks parallel). Not til your hams touch your heels. Not til you sit onto the floor. This way makes complying with those rules easier.

1 last point here, suits are not nearly as magical as people think and neither are steroids. Whether or not he has a suit on, there is still 1175lbs of bone crushing iron directly on his back. A suit can not take that away. A suit is for support only, it doesn't make you stronger. The first time I put on elbow sleeves I was able to bench 15 more pounds, but regardless of the fact I had sleeves on, I still needed my delts, triceps, chest and back to be stron enough to handle the 15 pounds.
Oh and by the way the judges know what they are doing, and they have a better view than this camera does. If they say it's a good lift, then it 100% is.

Apart from poor form/a very high squat there is on international agreement on squat as there are several organisations worldwide. I squatted 400kg at 119 bw and was to ipf standards. yes it's a lot of weight but I also squated 450 with a double suit and rather high but I never considered it a legal squat.
ofcourse it's an amazing amount of weight but I'm sure no one disagrees with me when I say he would not go to IPF depth and come back up again

Gear is gear some work well with it some work well without it. Konstantin konstantinovs only adds 200lbs equipped; i know people who have 500lbs difference. its a totally different beast

The first time I put on elbow sleeves I was able to bench 15 more pounds, but regardless of the fact I had sleeves on, I still needed my delts, triceps, chest and back to be stron enough to handle the 15 pounds.

Why are there so many haters now in powerlifting? It didn't use to be like this. Anyone who says he is fat, his form is bad, he can't do 800 raw, he didn't hit depth or any other hater comment, post a video reply of yourself hitting even 1/2 of 1175 or else you can keep your mouth shut. has anyone ever tried getting that wide and squatting? its not as easy as you'd think. it puts enormous stress on your groin and it take a ton of strength to keep your knees from diving in. and hitting parallel in this stance is a lot farther down than most people think.

Apart from poor form/a very high squat there is on international agreement on squat as there are several organisations worldwide. I squatted 400kg at 119 bw and was to ipf standards. yes it's a lot of weight but I also squated 450 with a double suit and rather high but I never considered it a legal squat.
ofcourse it's an amazing amount of weight but I'm sure no one disagrees with me when I say he would not go to IPF depth and come back up again

@romakayak one problem, he is not in the IPF. You must feel pretty good about yourself to be talking smack about a WORLD RECORD squat. The gear doesn't lift the weight for you. Chuck's form is some of the best in the business. By the way form tends to go away a little when you lift ultra heavy weight like Chuck does. Anyone can say they squat 400+ kg but can you prove it? @beerecan1227 to continue, I've seen 900lb raw deadlifters wear all the gear in the world and deadlift 915, I've seen ben brand at the IPA nationals bench 655 raw and then put on a inzer bench shirt (top of the line) and max out at 770 and I've seen mendy bench 715 raw put on a 2 ply bench shirt and bench 1015. Gear is gear some work well with it some work well without it. Konstantin konstantinovs only adds 200lbs equipped; i know people who have 500lbs difference. its a totally different beast

@sbowesuk you cant blame the athlete tho... if the fed is the problem its the fed not the lifter... thats all i'm saying. breaking parallel is all that is required in all feds, people chose to do ass to the ground because raw there is a rebound effect when your hamstrings hit your calves due to your ligaments and quads overstretch. in gear you cant get that low but you can (and chuck did) break parallel because the hip socket is below the knee socket hence below parallel
